- Rock band IDLES have never shied away from the hard topics and that's no different on their 2021 album CRAWLER. The album mostly covers topics on addiction and recovery, working through heartache and struggle and overcoming. Despite the heavy subject manner the musicality remains high-energy barreling through 14 hard-hitting tracks. Vocalist Joe Talbot explains how they created the album during the pandemic with bridging the gap between their core audience and a new potential audience, experimenting with sound and story telling the band hadn't ventured into before. These dudes put so much of themselves into every part of writing, recording and playing these songs live that you feel every not of it every time. I mean I may be incredibly biased but once it's all said and done these dudes should go down as one of the greatest bands of not only their era but of all time. Their social commentary, the way joe stands behind each word he spits like he would die for each and every subject he sings about, the mix of styles with Bowen and Lee and the driving rhythm section with Adam and Jon playing some very simple yet unpredictable stuff. It's like Adam and Jon aren't doing anything special other than playing the songs in a manner that not many would even try and it gives such a distinct style. They are passionate about every part of these songs and I'll never forget the day I first heard these guys about 7 years ago . When the sounds started coming out of my klipsch towers I turned it way up and almost fought myself in my living room and set out to to start a revolution to save the world from itself in the name of love. ANGRY KINDNESS is so perfect as it shows in the lyrics , "he hates me , I like that!" . God damn it's so good. Good job on the newest record and good luck on everything moving forward. It was love at first listen for me all those years ago and still you never disappoint and it's not unnoticed. Thanks, Tee town in oklahoma/Kansas.

These guys are by far my favorite band of the last five years. Finally got to see them live earlier this month and it was close to a religious experience.
Going to shows is like going to church except with actual love involved.
Joe is one deep dude...love these guys

Shout out Ian and Jasmine, that San Diego show was one of the best shows ever. It felt so intimate, joyful and chaotic. It was humbling watching so many young people create core memories with such a beautiful band.
