A kid described this movie to me when I was in elementary school. I thought she was making it up, and wondered why I'd never noticed before how funny she was. A few months later it was on TV. I was enchanted! Watched it every chance I got! (They'd filmed it in my neighborhood) I love the xylophone soundtrack, the plant's voice and Seymour's wacky mom: "You promised you wouldn't get married til you bought me an iron lung.""But you been breathin' for years, Ma." "Well, it aint easy. It aint easy, son."
I had no idea this wasn't a musical; I'm coming from the Tiny Desk performance trying to find the Rick Moranis version. I feel like I can really enjoy and appreciate the evolution of Roger and Charles' work now.
Love this movie. Days of my young years - Perestroika times. We've got lots of excellent quality western movies on TV. Times full of hope in normal life, best future. Oh God...
Yes, maybe perestrojka was interresting for you buy now you are as before you were simply killers or in favore of killing people, nature and all progress of humanity
I was born the year they made this, I remember seeing it on our little black and white tv, i was young and couldn't make sense, a comedy ? Horror ? Still confused.
I'm watching it in Spanish with English subtittles. The transcription is a mix of Spanish and French and it must be from another movie because is unrelated to the script.

Yeah hi Helen yeah a Little shop of horrors it's about a man eating plant it's sort of a comedy kind of movie campy I saw it years ago well happy Sunday I guess it's Sunday where you are huh hope you're having a good day today okay God bless
It is no wonder I have never heard of this original story. People were not ready for this kind of humor decades later when it came out in the musical. No one was ready for it in 1960. And look at Jack Nicholson! He is so young. Can't help but miss Steve Martin though... Thank you for finding this and sharing it.
I've only just seen this too. The dentist in the musical is a much more pivotal character: to make him the abusive boyfriend of Audrey gives Seymour a much stronger motivation to do what he does.
@@joshuakohlmann9731 My nice played Seymour's girlfriend in the musical and she went around suddenly singing "Suddenly Seymour" around every corner.... It is in my head forever now. Associated with any appearance of Rick Moranis.
Well, as people in the 1960s, It must be that I'm not ready for this film either in 2024 as I don't find this movie funny. I've seen it because I've heard about it many times but I find it the silliest movie I'd ever seen. A real nonsense. I am very grateful to this channel for its work in sharing all kind of classic movies. I enjoy very much this channel. Thank you so much.

Merci énormément, i love you (From France)
I was born the year they made this, I remember seeing it on our little black and white tv, i was young and couldn't make sense, a comedy ? Horror ? Still confused.
I call it tragi-comedy a word I don't know if exists in English. In Spanish is tragicomedia, a mix of drama and comedy like the films by Almodovar.
Wow i have not seen this movie almost 20 years , wow thank you 🥰
This was pretty good! I think it's funnier than the Rick Moranis version.
Little shop of horror 🎉
Como algo tão besta é tão bão
I never seen this one before🤨
Me neither. I only got the last half hour but will rewatch later. Chat is such a hoot to read while watching 😅
Thank you for sharing! Always loved this movie, hadn’t seen it in years.
I'm pretty sure the thumbnail picture is a promo shot from one of the musical stage production.
Also, it's HORRORS, and not Horror.

I’m surprised Jackie Joseph is in this and some unknown young actor called Jack Nicholson at 34:52.

Was soll die Aufregung. Man kann die Untertitel deaktivieren.
Es ist eine super gute deutsche Synchronisation.😊
Down on Skid Row 🎶
Don't get it. Quite tedious.
The Great Mel Welles as Gravis Mushnick
And Jack Nicholson playa what part?
Exquisita ❤
Sowas Dummes , ich erkenne Jack Nichelson nicht . . Wen spielt er ?
Er ist der masochistische Zahnarzt-Patient. Sehr jung noch aber unverkennbar .☺️
Jack Nicholson.
Almost as good as the musical remake. 😂
Bill Murray and Steve Martin in the scence of the dentist 😂
That's "pre-ortonesque" - (it stands for Joe Orton) - for sure ... Do trust me...The revival one, (dated 1986), has been less entangling by far.
Except for the dentist scenes. Bill Murray and Steve Martin are at their best. The song "I'm a dentist" is on TH-cam.
Che film ....😢
The original is the best feed me Seymour.
RIP Robert.
Jack siempre rarito. Me encanta l,m super rare😮😮😮😮

Isn't that the cast of the original musical in your thumbnail?
AGREED 📼
Loved Ellen Greene's singing in the 1986 version and can only guess it's what she sounded like in 1982 in the off-broadway musical. =)
Audrey jr? Semmai Audrey 2
Il a bien l'accent Russe!
Better thank that over-blown musical, says I.
😂😂👍
Hey I'm watching the movie

anyone else's captions not match the actual dialogue? like it's close, but translated out of then back to English?
The transcription is from another movie and it's a mix of Spanish and French.
