Nice to watch. I have a Damon folding bike to commute from High Wycombe where I live to my old job at a factory near Heathrow. It involved a 5 mile commute to the bus and a 3 mile ride the other end.
Getting on and off the bus with a folding bike always caused a conversation!

This is way way WAY before your time but, there is an old logo of sorts that was around in the70s of a long legged man taking a step forward. The right foot, stepping forward, is drawn much closer and longer, to the eye. It said Keep on Truckin'! Every time you two sign off, I associate it with this picture. I might sketch one up of each of you though I admit that I see you in your overalls with the long hair (from the outside tour) in this picture. It just suits you two!

As a translator/interpreter, "thanks" to Corona and modern technology, I can comfortably work from home now and I really envy people in the UK, who can switch to a fulltime narrowboat life. If I was UK-based, I would certainly sell my apartment and go for a narrowboat (with my cats). Life on the move is much more fun and I am into boating / houseboating anyhow, so a narrowboat is the perfect quirky combination of both. Looking forward to further blogs!

Spider 8 = handle bars x 2 * pedals x 2 * frame x 1* handle bar height ajustment * seat height adjustment * stand = 8 . Great vlog again l had to pause the vlog to disect the bike to find the 8 lol 😂 not sure on the side stand though. I dont want to offend either of u but when u finish ur vlog with lets keep on chugging, it reminds me of my younger days when my children watched play school and l expect one of u to say which window will it be today.

Hi Tim, could I make a small suggestion. The pin which you screw into place on your city bike after extending the frame. Please check if the handle has a cam. In other words, you'd screw it almost tight and then flip the handle over 180 degrees and that applies the appropriate torque to secure the bike whole. I often see people spin quick release wheels on not realising there's a cam in the handle and that's really dangerous as the wheel can come loose. I would'nt want your frame to close up while you are riding!

That BSA is a bit of a 70s icon! My sister had one and I would ride it with the hinge in the middle uncatched like a clown bike with the wheels pointing in weird directions. Predictably this ended in an accident from which I still have a small scar. You will have to invest in a trailer so you can take your briefcase of shame to the elsan.

    • @chuggingalong

    • @philroberts7238

BSA stands for Birmingham Small Arms - they used to make rifles. I'm not sure if that was what you said or not, because I was trying to put a pizza together at the time and I couldn't quite catch what you said.
I'm really enjoying your vlogs, btw. I've nothing against the grey nomads (I'd be one myself if I were allowed out, but the lockdown is in full force where I am), but it's nice to see a different demographic on the waterways of Britain for a change.

haha! We also love food. The curry had honey it and it was quite creamy with a blend of spices, lovely. The wrap had a sour pickled taste to the vegetables with the savoury flavours of the lamb. They were both great, it's a good market!

I've been watching the 2 girls aka "The narrow boat experience" so this is the life I've wanted for ages however my job requires me being in a lab as I'm a scientist.. So I just want to ask how both of you earn/work and did you both have to change your work ethic to fulfil your dream. Ps I am thinking of a wide beam as I do need space and have around £70-80K to spend with, like you, stuff to sort out. Ps just sub'd love this channel

your job is the life I want when I finish school :)
you might be able to get a remote job as someone who reviews scientific journals or something so you can stay up to date with any latest developments while getting your income without having to be in a fixed place :)
