I can’t imagine what must bring you more joy - the adventure of cruising continuously across the country, the gratification of creating such a welcoming home together or the pleasure your journey has brought to so many people around the planet. Thank you and Godspeed.

That was nice, thank you both. Paul's top tip {that you two won't need} is to have a good underblanket, two duvets and two hot water bottles. It is a good way of ensuring a cosy boaty night. Paul's other boaty tip is to find a cat that can close doors as well as opening them. I do not posses such a cat, hance two hot water bottles and two duvets.

Great video. Awesome insight into the challenges you face. When Kath was talking about leaving slack in the lines, it triggered thoughts of my late father. He was US Navy and a WWII vet. At an early age, he started to teach me boat and deck seamanship, including how to tie different types of knots and how to coil rope properly. I still have his 1943 issue Bluejackets Manual. Thanks again ladies for all you do. Sending some virtual hugs!

Great video Ladies. I admire you and enjoy your adventures. I have been looking for a boat for long term cruising but due to the little bug which seems to have stopped the world I have had to delay my search. However in Feb this year my wife and I hired a boat for a week to see if we would like winter cruising. We did !!! Good luck, stay safe and keep the videos coming. Michael

I do love seeing your videos. On clothing it reminds me of discussing cold weather motorcycle gear a few years ago. From 2016 through a month ago I only had a motorcycle and in North Carolina that meant my commute to work was sometimes quite cold. 18F/-8C was my coldest.

regarding additives to your diesel...there are two types ...one type reduces water (condinsation) getting into the diesel. The other kind is a biocide that reduces the bacterial growth in the diesel. You should check with your engine manufactuer regarding both...most manufactures advise not to use them as it causes your hoses to degrade causing all kinds of problems. You mentioned keeping your diesel toped off...that is the best way to go to prevent you having the above problems...Best...Capt. Greg

Well done for braving the canals in the winter. Stoppages are a big problem, or it was on the Leeds -Liverpool. Due to work commitments, we were permanently moored. Condensation was our biggest problem, but a proper fire cures that. Good tips with the water! We only froze up once fortunately, but breaking the ice around the Broads Cruiser was a pain. Canals are no places for wooden boats! Good Luck with your travels!

Sunburn and windburn happens in winter (ask any Canadian) so some UV protection and moisturizer is important. The Rule O'Thumb with winter gear is that you can always take something off, or loosen it, but it's difficult to add more layers when you don't have the gear.

Remember something from my mushing days. There’s a poly something or other face mask. Covers nose, cheek and chin. Very thin and flexible with Velcro around back of neck. Very comfy. It would keep my face toasty warm at -30 and some wind. Also kept my beard free of frost. Much better than a scarf as the scarf gets ice bound from breath freezing.
