    I attended this game and was on the field at the time of injury... I've never heard a stadium so quiet! Marcus was a Heisman candidate and should have played a LONG time on Sundays, had it not been for this tragic play. I can't express how much he meant to that team.

    I know what the guy is going through...my injury was very similar except my patella tendon ruptured ( have a screw holding it in place ). Also, besides the ACL, MCL & PCL tearing, most of the Meniscus was shredded,
    the Vastus Lateralis tore away from the bone and got infected, and the doctor's couldn't get it under control, so about 8" of the muscle had to be removed.
    I have lived with the injury since I was 20 years old. I had hoped to have a chance to try out for the NFL after college, but it took me close to 3 years to rehab and then lose the weight I had gained from being inactive. I am 6'6" and my playing weight was 320 lbs. as an Offensive Lineman.
    Hopefully this player gets over the surgery and can get on with his life! Everything changes with this type of injury.

    • @michaelb1761
      @michaelb1761 ปีที่แล้ว

      During a soccer game, one of my teammates tore his ACL, MCL, and patellar tendon. This was in the mid 80's, and the surgery for a highschool athlete in the mid 80's wasn't what it is now. He still walks with a limp.
      On top of all of that, the ref gave him a red card for dangerous play, and we finished the game a man down and majorly pissed off at the ref.

    I had a play in baseball when I was younger where I was at shortstop and went up for an errant throw from the catcher. As I was catching the ball, the runner dove and his helmet went straight into my right knee and effectively spun me around before I hit the ground. The coach made me finish the game since we only had 9 players, but I could hardly walk on that. Somehow, I was only out for a week before I was able to play most of a game again. I'm convinced that if my foot was planted though, my knee would have been a goner

    just watching this hurts my knees while I can watch any other injury video no problem. The one exception is the two or three videos of NHL hockey players getting throats cut by ice skates. Man I love hockey played it through college but man a skate to the throat was my biggest fear. Because you can just bleed out so quick & yet sometimes not. Hockey is the only real sport left. I remember seeing Boston Bruins Greg Campbell getting hit with a slapshot on a power play but he too powered through till the power play was over & he could be replaced without risking the team. He & the bruins were sadly successful in defending the powerplay against my beloved Pittsburgh Pengiuns. And as much as I hate the bruins & anything about them I give Greg Campbell props & stand in owe of his ability to power through for the team.

    Can someone explain to me (ie. non-American with no idea what the rules of American football are) whether a tackle like this is considered legal or illegal?

    Worst looking injury I've ever seen. When I first saw it, I thought he had fractured his hip down by the knee. The way it just flopped around.
    The worst I saw up close was a guy in highschool who tore his ACL, MCL, and patellar tendon playing soccer.

    Tennessee defender (# 24?) doesn’t even try to raise his arms to wrap Lattimore up. He leads with his shoulder with his head down and throws himself at Lattimore’s knee. In my view, a learned behavior intended to injure.

    I feel like if low blocks are illegal then then throwing your body into the ball carrier should he as well not low tackling just choping the legs of a player
