Boox are flexing an impressive ability to overcome engineering challenges and iterate faster than any other manufacturer. Whatever the consumer demands, they seem to be able to deliver
Just received mine today. The Boox Go 10.3 . I really like it. I have watched your reviews for a long time and have tried nearly everything to finish my workflow. I knew I wanted a Remarkable 2 with internet. I have fed it back to them many times but nothing was forthcoming so thankyou Boox for building it. Its quite ironic really. I will be interested in your opinon when you received it.
Ive been waiting amd waiting and wanting for the supernote a5x2, prefer the software. But i give in. Ax6 is too small. The boox is a lot cheaper than the ratta will end up being. And the go includes pen and cover. Think i have a winner.
I'm in the same boat. Was trying to hold out for the A5X2, but I need more than my Kindle Scribe offers, ASAP. Also, Supernote's development cycle is pretty slow, and lacks integrations for specialized functions like Chordpro music charts, etc. As long as the Go isn't unreliable or glitchy, it could actually be exactly what I've been looking for. Placed my pre-order, and it should arrive early next week.
I feel similarly about the reMarkable software interface/design model (though it could use more functionality). The reMarkable 2 hardware just can't keep up. In the end, I'd rather sacrifice my preferred UI approach for hardware that actually WORKS.
@@frinktl9716 normally, I’m not a fan of mergers and acquisitions. But imagine if unRemarkable and Boox teamed up? RM’s clean design philosophy, with Boox’ faster release cycles and more powerful architecture…
Which is a better writing experience? Closer to a paper like feel between the ReMarkable 2 or the new Go 10.3. Or should I wait for the Supernote A5X? I like writing on paper and want the note taking device to draw me in to write on it.
I just wanted the ability to read ebooks on a larger screen with the ability to use whatever ebook platform i want via android and the ability to take handwritten notes at work. I also dont really ever use the front light on my kindle scribe. So i dont need a front light. A sd card would be nice if i was doing things other that reading and taking notes. So this checks all of those boxes. And also thank you for all of your great content brother. I have it on preorder!
I wonder if SD storage is really necessary for most users. I’ve been a massive hog with technical documentation, Kindle Unlimited, Calibri, Project Gutenberg and Bookbub. Still have a ton of free space in my 64K Kindles. As long as you don’t go too nuts with apps and images, I suspect that it won’t be an issue…
I was very excited about the Go 10.3 until I found out that it doesn’t have BSR. That feature is just so killer that I can’t imagine buying a Boox without it.
Hi I would use it for reading PDF papers and taking notes on them. Both Kobo and BOOX Go 10.3 seem good. I read somewhere that the Boox Note Air 3 had issues with dead pixels. Have you any sggestion for which of them is the better choice?
I start uni in September, so will be interested to see how the 10.3 Go works as a device for a science-related degree, especially for annotations of pdfs and epubs. The idea of reading and working outdoors, with minimal glare, is very appealing, as is the fact that it runs on Android.
I really like your videos - but could you please mute the music (or maybe lower the volume)? Maybe I'm the only one here, but I have attention deficit disorder and it's very stressful for me to listen to music and voice at the same time - my brain isn't able to "tune out" the music, it thinks both are equally important (it sometimes works if the music is at a very low volume compared to the voice).... I couldn't watch the video for more than 20 seconds :(
Thanks for the feedback! We discussed this on my channel a while back and the majority of people wanted the music to stay. You're not the only one saying that in this video, so maybe I got the level too loud this time. Apologies. If you go to the livestream this is taken from, it's music free. Might be a better option for you or other viewers whom don't love the music. 🙂. Kind thanks!
Have you gotten in line for the “minimal phone?” looks like a fantastic step into e-ink phones with a blackberry vibe. Set to ship in September. Would love to see your thoughts on it.
Yeah, I've backed that, although a big part of me is wondering if the BigMe HiBreak is the more compelling form factor for a minimal phone. It'll just be minimal as it's eink and you won't default to scrolling and watching TH-cam.
@@KitBetts-Masters I knew you’d be all over it. But had to ask. Thanks for being one of the pillars of the e-ink community for all of us here on TH-cam. It’s much appreciated KBM.
I am really considering this over supernote and Viwoods because they actually sell Boox products in my country and those other products are not available here to buy at all. They don't even sell on amazon which is a easy way to get around banks rejecting international purchases because amazon has world wide warehouses. Not sure why they those other brands do not have more flexable sales world wide like Boox has.
Just purchased one and it's great! Not sure though if the nibs will need replacing, it's not clear from the documentation. Does anyone know, and if so, replace with what?
The Boox Go 10.3 doesn't seem to have a BSR-acceleration. So that's a major difference to the Air 3 C. And in today's world you should have the BSR acceleration. At least for bigger devices.
I wonder what would be the writing experience and feel, currently I don't really enjoy the writing feel on Note Air 3, just feel like writing on glass surface, which is very different to the RM2 and A6X2
I don't need an SD card slot... but any device without an SD card slot should have at least 256gb of storage, its not like 256gb of emmc costs very much, we're talking like an extra $2 to the bill of materials for 256gb over 64gb. The lack of frontlight is a deal breaker for me... but for a black and white only device thats ultra thin, I can see why dropping the gel layer is a good option, I bet it looks incredible in sunlight. One thing I really really like though is the white color... I wish my Note air 3 c was white like that, man it looks so nice.
I'm hoping they get the Go 10.3 out to you ASAP, they say the firmware is different from previous devices, I truly hope they didn't dumb it down to a reMarkable level!!! The reMarkable is just to limited by it's software, is it's single biggest achilles heel. And given their existing customer base mentality they would either have to have two devices, or a device with two distinct modes of operation, and that might not satisfy the existing customer base that are so adamantly "Anti Feature / Capability!!!
For me, “GO” means an A6 device!! Give me a real portable note taker tablet device with the same features as the beautiful Go 10,3” or something that competes against the Nomad!! I need to stay in the Boox ecosystem 😂
Presumably, when they claim it to be “flexible” they mean in function, not that you can roll it up to shove in your back pocket. It does raise the question, however, of how robust this thing is. So thin, so big, with a glass screen? Hmmm…
Welcome please help I'm confused between it and the Note Air 3 I liked the GO 10.3 because its weight is light, its thickness is less, and its screen resolution is higher.. but I am worried because it is without lighting Any advice?
375 grams makes my Kindle Scribe look porky! This may also be Boox' last chance to stake a position in the low-distraction market before Supernote establishes repairability as a practical and desirable feature with the A5X2. When that hits the market, existing products from Kindle, Boox, etc. are going to look awfully disposable...

Considering that the Go’s screen has the same description as the the note air 3 series, it will most likely be similar that or the scribe.
