Looking forward to your full review of this. I ordered one a couple of days ago. I currently am writing everything on the RM2 while reading and studying on the Kindle scribe. I am looking for the GO 10.3 to replace my Kindle Scribe. I have books now on Kindle and Kobo and would really benefit from being able to grab the books from them both. Thank you for the initial review! I have been looking for my first e-ink tablet and was waiting for the a5x2 but this seems to be able to match my use case as well :) I have been searching for a good tutorial on how to convert multiple handwritten pages to text and export as txt file on the boox but information seems to be very limited. It would be great to hear more about this and about the file management. People keep saying the Supernote is better for this but on first sight it looks to me the Boox is able to do much of the same when it comes to handwriting notes and file organisation. Would love to hear some more thoughts on this :)
I feel you and I are in the same place! I’m currently waiting for the A5X2, but this may be better! I’m just a little concerned about the low storage space in this compared to the Supernote. I also want a device where I can essentially write a whole lot of pages by hand then convert to text and export to my laptop for editing and such. I’m wondering if there’s enough space on this or if I’ll fill the storage to quickly.
I definitely bought the Remarkable 2 for its looks and feel targeted by this device! Thinner and lighter doesn’t tempt me, but being able to download the Sunday Times to read out in the garden would be very nice! If they do a 13.3 inch I’d definitely want it.
$380 is a damn good price! Especially if I heard correctly that it comes with the pen and case. Idk if I heard you compare pens but what does the pen feel like in comparison to the remarkable pen plus? Also as someone whose just discovered these types of devices and definitely jumped at the 1st one (ReMarkable 2, which I absolutely love), I feel like if they brought the prices down $150-$200 then this market would take off very quickly. I think it’s extremely easy for someone to say “I’m not gonna spend $400 on a notebook “ what do you think?
The mooink one was 0.8 pounds for 13.3 inches, and it feels amazing to hold. but the software was too limiting. A 1 pound 13.3 box go would totally turn heads!

Front-lights its a nice feature, but not necessary, especially for better writing experience. I'm excited to wait for Supernote A5 #2, but if they will release it in December or later...oh well
Really good video, and honest review. I've just discovered your channel, so I'll definitely watch some more reviews, and for other brands too. The only bad point for the Go 10.3 that I can see so far is that it's already sold out in the UK...
You were the one who sold me on the Remarkable 2 a month aga. I want to get at least 3 years out of it before I upgrade. Hopefully, by then, the R3 will be out.
Would you recommend this over the Air 3 C or reMarkable 2 for note-taking? I'll be starting grad school shortly and want to try e-ink tablets for note-taking. As someone with ADHD I like the ideas behind the reMarkable's minimal extra features, but your other review makes me worry about being able to use the notes I take on my other devices.
I'm very interested in this device, nice to see you got it already and testing it. Yesterday I saw someone saying that when you connect a keyboard via the USB-C port, he was having major issues. I hope it's not the case and they fix it because I would plan on working like that... also for it to accept a wired internet connection via the USB-C as well, even though it may only be me using all this 😅
One thing I do like is BOOX moving the charging port to the bottom of the device. I have the Note Air 3C, with the charging port on the side. That gets covered up by the case when it’s closed, which makes charging a little awkward. I could plug the Go 10.3 in without having to do anything with the case.
Nice vid! Please show me more of the OS.. I currently have the remarkable and would like to get some (only some!) more features, I think, the Go 10 will bring.
Hi congrats on producing another great video. I sold my NoteAir3C previously and gotten a Leaf 3 for reading. However this Go10.3 reinstate my interest on getting a 10inch device again for landscape double page reading. It was not as enjoyable on the NoteAir3C due to the Kaleido greyish limitation. Just wanna check, without the cover glass and front light layer, will the screen of this Go10.3 able to match the Libra 2? Thanks.
Hiya, yeah this screen has a lovely contrast to it, the background is a nice clean white and the ink is dark and bold. I haven't used the Kobo, but I'd say this is one of the best screens that have can get right now!
@@KitBetts-Masters Hi Kit, I just got the Boox Go 10.3 and love it! its probably the best e-reader screen I ever come across, better than the Libra 2 (tho reading experience still Kobo edges it due to OS+front light advantage) Now I did not purchase the pen included and opt for 3rd party pen. I do like the Staedtler noris digital classic for it's Nostalgic look, but ppl is commenting that it's rubber feel nib is much better on glossy screen like normal tablet. People also recommend the Lamy Al-Star+Wacom ACK22213 felt nibs to be the best combo, but dont really like the Lamy look... As you sketch a lot of ereaders, do you have any good recommendation for my use case? I will mainly do pencil-like sketching on them like u...thanks!
Looks a hell of a lot nicer then previous Boox. But if the notetaking software still isnt close to the Supernotes, still has an asymetrical border, still has weak pen magnets and for some reason has a worse folio than before I cant think of a reason to get it. Ill just wait for the A6x2
Thanks - it made my choice very easy. Going for remarkable like Boox go 10.3 with flexibility of Android esp the integration with other apps like one note 📝 Thanks again
Its a beautiful temptation, but if you've already got a Boox device making the purchase leans towards luxury... as it doesn't actually do anything more than the rest. I wonder how reMarkable will respond to this muscling into their patch? I'd give myself about a week before I lost the detachable clasp
A question: I’m thinking it’s a GO so far, but how is it with a BT keyboard? Brandon Boswell gave it a quick trial w/two different wired USB C keyboards. Heavy lag, and the shift key didn’t work. I’d prefer BT anyway, and hoping that any issues are just a firmware update away…
Great review. Now I’m very confused. I’ve been holding out for the Supernote A5X2 as I’m looking for something to replace all of my paper notebooks that I use and carry around. Now I’m not sure which to get haha. I’m almost sold on this except the storage is small and can’t be extended and you say the feelwrite 2 is the more paper like feel. I’ve never used an e-ink tablet so it seems Supernote may be the easier one to transition to from paper notebooks.
I was always fairly comfortable just using the RM 2 especially with the keyboard sometimes away from the office. However, the Boox Go 10.3 is very attractive potential as a replacement. Have to see what Supernote and Remarkable come with in the next several months. The GO series looks very neat for my workflow and having android allows me to run AI tools to brainstorm or research away from the regular computer or Ipad. Hope they add a quality keyboard option soon..
Forget the design, materials, and everything but the 300ppi screen. If the Note Air 3 had a 300ppi screen, they would've had a hard time with this device. A Note Air 3 B/W with a 300ppi screen would've been endgame for anyone who didn't want to deal with the drawbacks of Kaleido 3, and that's fair. I have a Tab Ultra and a Note Air 3C, and it's really difficult for me not to reach for the B/W device over the color. The contrast is just so much better, and I can't wait for my GO 10.3 to come in so I can see how much better the contrast is compared to the Tab Ultra and Note Air 3C.
Hi Kitt... I ordered my Boox Go 10.3 this morning on your recommendation... i've mailed the Boox customer services guys and told them it was on your recommendation. Not sure if it makes a difference to you but can let you have the order number if necessary. Can't wait... thanks for a great channel... Simon
Regarding not having had a 300 PPI screen since the scribe, doesn’t the NA3C also claim 300 PPI in B&W? Would be interesting to see a comparison showing if the Go 10.3 screen is any better in terms of B&W resolution
Ive been looking at getting an e-ink tablet to help with uni. I was originally looking at the remarkable 2 but this has turned my head a bit. Which one would you say is better? A feature im particularly after is being able to convert hand written notes to a word document/word document text.
I have a scribe as well on love the writing feel too :) But....... I'm seriously considering this though as it's far more open and easier to get files on and off (I have a Nova Air 2 as well)
Thanks a lot Kit ! Can you please let us know how the latency and writing gap feels like ? Is the gap smaller because of no front light and colour , so is the writing better to Note air 3c? thanks
Nice video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just one comment however. At 03:54 you said you cannot buy a Remarkable 2 without the pen, but I've just been able to add one to my cart without pen or folio at a cost of €349 (I think that's approx £295). I'm waiting to see what the SuperNote A5X2 costs before pulling the trigger. Thanks again for the video.
Ive been waiting for the suoernote, and waiting, and like supernotes software... But a) when will it ever really come out, and b) it will be more expensive. Perhaps the go does enough of what i need, and i like the thin-ness and weight of my remarkable.
Kim - thanks as ever for the amazing job you do ! one quick one - I am still holding on to the RM2 only because I have still to find an equally paper like 'writing feel' (NA3 no way ; Supernote I dont really like) ...... how would you rate the new new Go in this area vs RM2 and vs NA3 ? Thanks
Yeah, it's a similar feeling to RM2, but the higher pixel density and better contrast makes it better in my opinion. 🙂 You only want it if you want full android though. (You do.)
@@KitBetts-Masters Thanks Kim - appreciate the feedback - as much as it sounds crazy, I would be inclined to go for it and actually make it my primary e-ink combined with my old Nova Air which is still so valuable travelling for both notes reference and reading. Can I kindly ask you one last piece of advice ? would you swap the Nova Air for the Tab Mini C ? Again I mainly use the small one for reading (not just books / pdf but a lot of newspapers and magazines and sometime it is a challenge with the Nova Air) and minimum note taking and mainly referencing - thanks again - Stefano
@@zuppy777 yeah, the mini C is one of the best colour devices to be honest. It would be a good combo, Go 10.3 and mini C. But I'd probably wait and see how you got along with go 10.3 and Nova air first! 🙂
Before watching Brandon Boswell's unboxing last night, I was so close pre-ordering this yesterday, but the weak pen/tablet magnet, and that really daft detachable case thingy were a turn off. The price is great, though, which may be a consideration when looking at the new Supernote A5X2.
@@KitBetts-Masters I've been using the device for a few days now, and I find myself, when out, double-checking that I still have the pen, and that it hasn't slipped out from the case when I put it in a bag.
I've been waiting for years to get an eink Android tablet, and this might be the one. I think I can live without the frontlight, since I expect to use it for productivity and sketching, not in the dark. My question is, would I regret not getting a color screen for drawing? And is color eink "there" yet?
I've been waiting for days for your review😁. I'll order mine right now and I'll use your link. Don't know if it comes with taxes if I order it in France? I've been expecting the A5X2 for too long. I was waiting for the writing feeling review as I prefer the pen feeling of supernote instead of the pencil of the remarkable. Once again great content and keep it up
Can we see the gap between the pen and the ink? I appreciate its due to the front light but that is what has put me off Boox previously. The gap winds me up!!
After messing around w/10” tablets for a couple of years, I’m convinced that it’s time to retire the “Best Tablet” concept. Rule #1, is Know Thyself. Your personal workflow is EVERYTHING. If you write a lot in bed, have a limited budget and shelves full of journals and collect .pdf recipes off the net but never revisit them, then the 128GB Kindle Scribe is your perfect device. Great pen feel, excellent front light, etc. OTOH, if you need waterproofing, advanced handwriting search or conversion capabilities, the ability to organize your library in specific ways or run advanced task management apps, it’s rubbish. I’m currently very happy with the Go 10.3, but that’s not because it’s objectively a better than Supernote, Boox Tab or Note Air series. It totally comes down to how the Go fits my use case.
Speach to text works great. The keyboard has an issue which no other Boox device has had before, the shift hey l key doesn't work! I imagine Boox will fix that quickly!
Kit, Im hinging my wallet on this. The 10.3 or wait for the 10" Supernote Q3 2024 with possibly a better CPU and Display? Better note software? and expandable storage? If only they would leak their device specs!
I bought a metal nib for my remarkable2 I bought from Amazon. I heard it might ruin my pen, but it’s been over 6 months and knock on wood it still all works. I use it practically daily and it’s mostly for drawing. Before that I had to go through 2-3 nibs a week. The hard plastic ones would last almost 2 weeks. So gives you an idea how hard I press. No scratches on screen either.
@@sloppynyuszi I actually have the RM2 and did the same thing, except i think it broke my pen. Going back to normal nibs and they don't stay in place, so i ended up replacing the pen and now i don't even want to use the RM2 anymore because of how often i have to change nibs.
Almost all of these e-ink devices fail in their ability to fully sync with third-party cloud storage sites (e.g., Dropbox). They either require you to move the files you want to access into a spcial folder or restrict access to download. At some point this restriction needs to be addressed for these to be useful in a professional setting.
Great video as always Kit. Fantastic device, however I’m wary of buying into the Boox ecosystem after hearing stories of data insecurity. Anything you or your subs can say to allay my concerns?
Hmm, I don't get it why people would like to have a einkt device without the front light. In the early days I had one without and it was troublesome, especially during the winter period or travelling. Nevertheless I understand the line of thinking of Boox since the Remarkable is selling in large numbers based on simplicity (= lack of features)......
I would use it in the same way I use my paper notebooks for uni, just make sure the ambient is well lit and I think a lot of people feel the same. I don't necessarily think that the added thinnes and pen being closer to the paper are worth the lack of backlight but it's just not a deal breaker.✌🏻
Million dollar question I guess! It's better than the current A5X, but the A5X2 could be amazing, especially if you don't need all of the playstore things.
Go will not have color since it does not use front line. You mast wait for note or Tab series. But to be honest the color E ink is not well developed enough. I am looking for Go 13.3 blak and white without frontline.
As a request, I do not need to see your face in the top corner of the screen. Particularly with the soft edging, it is very distracting from the main content without adding any real value. As your framing is on the thirds, at times, the PIP was obscuring the actual product you were reviewing.
Yes, agreed, we know how he looks like, and we understand that his hands are not talking, that it’s actually him somewhere behind the camera. I don’t understand why some authors have the urge to constantly show themselves. Maybe as a proof of authorship of the video 😂
@@mattx4253 Hiya, there's a pretty clear explanation 14 seconds in that Boox sent me the device to review. However, as they have no input into and control over the content it does not qualify as a sponsored video. Most reviews that you watch or read are facilitated by the company sending the product for free. Thanks so much for your comment.
@@KitBetts-Masters I’m trying to work out if I’m listening to adverts from affiliates or product reviews to be honest. I have a RM1 and I’m due an upgrade. More choice on market now so it’s either super note or boox or wait for RM3 as I have RM grandfathered cloud service for free

So it's basically an android reMarkable clone/mutant uggh🤮! As soon as a see the Android, iOS or tiles interface I zone out.😵💫 Wow,👏 more of the same ecosystem great, and a "Playstore icon" wow🤢👎. Now I did not purchase the pen included and opt for 3rd party pen.
I will mainly do pencil-like sketching on them like u...thanks!
looove the white design
i love the look of it as well.
Going for remarkable like Boox go 10.3 with flexibility of Android esp the integration with other apps like one note 📝
Thanks again
Its a beautiful temptation, but if you've already got a Boox device making the purchase leans towards luxury... as it doesn't actually do anything more than the rest. I wonder how reMarkable will respond to this muscling into their patch? I'd give myself about a week before I lost the detachable clasp
Yeah, it's an interesting move, and it's one of their cheapest devices!
Go 13.3 without front line and black and white will be amazing. I am looking to buy that.
That would be a amazing. A Sony DPT but with all the Boox things.
I think Remarkable need to bring out the RM3 with a Kindle book app built in.
Yeah, it's tough isn't it. You can bet the A5X2 will be great, but this is great and is here now!
Yeah, seems like it would fit your needs great!
What is the best most powerful e ink tablet? Money isn't an issue just want the best of the best. Thanks
I wish it had fingerprint unlock just on principle as a Android device, but I already ordered one anyway
Looks very nice, but without the light - ? Not sure I'd go for this because of the lack of light....
Would be interesting to see a comparison showing if the Go 10.3 screen is any better in terms of B&W resolution
nothing to be compared, color 300 is inferior than B/W 300, that's for sure due to the greyish background
Yes 300 ppi looks crisper than kaleido does with black and white text!
Ive been looking at getting an e-ink tablet to help with uni. I was originally looking at the remarkable 2 but this has turned my head a bit. Which one would you say is better?
A feature im particularly after is being able to convert hand written notes to a word document/word document text.
Looks interesting! Definitely undercuts the remarkable.
How does it compare to writing on the Kindle Scribe? I really like the Kindle Scribe for taking notes it is amazing
I have a scribe as well on love the writing feel too :) But....... I'm seriously considering this though as it's far more open and easier to get files on and off (I have a Nova Air 2 as well)
Yeah, it's a very similar feel to that screen TBH.
Thanks for the wonderful review!
Can you kindly help test out the Nebo app and if it works properly with this?
Was really hoping to see a 300 ppi B&W Note Air tablet.
Thanks for letting me know, perhaps that was a limited time thing, or perhaps a change in response to being undercut.
Looks great. Does that support bluetooth connection? I am wondering keyboard connection is available..
Ive been waiting for the suoernote, and waiting, and like supernotes software... But a) when will it ever really come out, and b) it will be more expensive. Perhaps the go does enough of what i need, and i like the thin-ness and weight of my remarkable.
Better than note air 3c ???❤
Thanks! Could you test whether you can connect external Bluetooth keyboard and use google keyboard for typing other languages? Thanks!
You only want it if you want full android though.
Yeah, I predict a new case launch soon!
@@Adamborries hehe, I think you might want this video: th-cam.com/video/Eaz7hVuwrAs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4LuPMGT8M1ipHtKO
Can you read with it without ghosting. I mean is there a (slower) HD and/or Regal mode with a deep refresh which removes all ghosting?
You can certainly read well without ghosting, it is amazing actually, but its more that you miss the faster refresh in certain apps.
Once again great content and keep it up
Thanks so much! I think taxes should be all included if you order from the Euro shop. 🙂
@@KitBetts-Mastersthank you for your reply it is much appreciated
How do you manage to not mark the screen with your palm when writing?
Can we see the gap between the pen and the ink? I appreciate its due to the front light but that is what has put me off Boox previously. The gap winds me up!!
No front light here, so you're getting as small a gap as is currently possible. 🙂
8 inch would be a good size. Kind of an ebook reader that you can study on pdfs in landscape.
Can you please demo it with keyboard, and try speech to text if it has it? I’m curious if other input methods are any good
Speach to text works great. The keyboard has an issue which no other Boox device has had before, the shift hey l key doesn't work! I imagine Boox will fix that quickly!
They have fixed this!
will the note aire 3c folio case fit the 10.3?
No carta 1300, seems silly to get something with last-gen screen tech now.
Kit, Im hinging my wallet on this.
The 10.3 or wait for the 10" Supernote Q3 2024 with possibly a better CPU and Display? Better note software? and expandable storage?
If only they would leak their device specs!
So boox go 10.3, or wait for the supernote A5X2?
That's the question I'm afraid!
(two good options though to be honest!)
The start of the new school year may end up deciding this for some unfortunately!
can we connect a Bluetooth keyboard to it.
What’s the best option for someone who down went to replace nibs? The supernote?
Looks great!
It does! 🙂
Almost all of these e-ink devices fail in their ability to fully sync with third-party cloud storage sites (e.g., Dropbox). They either require you to move the files you want to access into a spcial folder or restrict access to download. At some point this restriction needs to be addressed for these to be useful in a professional setting.
I'm worried about the fake leather material, is it going to peel over time? I live in tropical country and this usually happens...
Yeah I wonder that too, I guess only time will tell!
Waiting to get Home tomorrow To open mine
How did it go!?
Great video as always Kit. Fantastic device, however I’m wary of buying into the Boox ecosystem after hearing stories of data insecurity. Anything you or your subs can say to allay my concerns?
I shared a really good video about this on my community tab.
@@KitBetts-Masters Thanks Kit, will check it out.
I don't necessarily think that the added thinnes and pen being closer to the paper are worth the lack of backlight but it's just not a deal breaker.✌🏻
no it's because there won't be any gap between the pen and the text on the screen, and yes it does make a difference
What about the video performance?
I'll demonstrate a video on my live stream tonight.
Might want to tell us what BSR is.

Sorry, I talk about it so much that I end up presuming everyone knows!
Just waiting for this form factor but in color eink to replace my remarkable 2.
How would you compare the OS between Boox and the Remarkable?
Are you sure that the front of the Go is plastic? I thought I read that this is an etched glass screen.
glass screen.
Is it better then supernote?
Million dollar question I guess! It's better than the current A5X, but the A5X2 could be amazing, especially if you don't need all of the playstore things.
You’re right. 10.3 is a very odd choice for a name. They should have just called it the Go 10
Correct, maybe there is already a Go 10 somewhere in existence and they want to avoid that.
Go 13.3 color Please or any color 13.3 from Boox Thank you
Go will not have color since it does not use front line. You mast wait for note or Tab series. But to be honest the color E ink is not well developed enough. I am looking for Go 13.3 blak and white without frontline.
@@masoudsakha9331 Thank you
I bought it from a third party site and it came with no cover. Is it compatible with any other boox cover/folio?
Nothing that will ever lure me away from Supernote again :-)
Yeah, stick with it! 🙂
We need a real letter cover like RM has!
Sorry do you mean leather? I thought they were all fake leather?
@@KitBetts-Masters Sorry! yes I mean leather. The RM folio is real leather.
The one without keyboard I mean.
No backlight?
No, but that has the benefit of having the eink layer higher up closer to the top of the screen. It also makes the whole tablet thinner.
Can these play videos?
Plastic screen? No glass? That could help with durability...
I can't understand why they omitted the microsd card slot. Truly disappointing.
as long as you have to deal with Android it is destracting by design :-)
the pen looks the size of a toddlers crayon.
As a request, I do not need to see your face in the top corner of the screen. Particularly with the soft edging, it is very distracting from the main content without adding any real value. As your framing is on the thirds, at times, the PIP was obscuring the actual product you were reviewing.
I like seeing your face up in the corner and I really like the soft Looney Tunes circle.
Yes, agreed, we know how he looks like, and we understand that his hands are not talking, that it’s actually him somewhere behind the camera. I don’t understand why some authors have the urge to constantly show themselves. Maybe as a proof of authorship of the video 😂
dont listen to this we love seeing your handsome face at all times
NO FRONT LIGHT!?!?!?!??! what a bummer....
Yeah, can you let me know what are the times that you would miss that the most please?
Should nt these videos be legally labelled as product promotions
Don’t listen to his bullshit. You absolutely need to have a lie on devices like this.
Yes I have boox page . I tried using without frontlight but the contrast wasn't great. So I will wait for the device with front light.
Over 1 million Remarkable tablets being sold would suggest different.

Don’t listen to his bullshit. You absolutely need to have a light on devices like this.
I like a light on my eInk, but the Remarkable doesn't have a light. I had the original Kindles, as well, and they didn't have a light - you just need the same lighting as for reading a book.
What do you mean?
Not true. I never use the frontlight on my Note Air 2+, except in a complete dark obviously.
I've had a remarkable for a while and never really felt it an issue.
So it's basically an android reMarkable clone/mutant uggh🤮! As soon as a see the Android, iOS or tiles interface I zone out.😵💫
Wow,👏 more of the same ecosystem great, and a "Playstore icon" wow🤢👎.
Only reMarkable gets that we don't need that! Or are addicted tot those ecosystems who don't want us to do "good" work but want to keep us hooked and distracted.
I can already imagine what the briefing for this device at Boox labs sounded like: Hey, this is a reMArkable we hate it! Costumers love it! So can you build us one that runs on Android we're losing costumers? It's like making a Lightphone run on iOS completely. It completely misses the point!
Hard pass for me!👎👎👎👎
