    Great video. 100% accurate for my 2004 Dodge 3500 that was varying RPM without pedal movement. I purchased a Wells Vehicle Electronics (Wisconsin) APPS from OReilly's.

      Did it almost feel like the throttle cut out for a quick second while holding the pedal in the same spot? My truck had been doing that and idling weird. Have an apps sensor on the way

    • @user-yo3vi5zg5u
      @user-yo3vi5zg5u 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, It would do that. It would also not achieve full throttle with pedal down. The Wells APPS working good 4 months now. @@FredD0847

    ive heard when the new apps is calibrated to the ecm. first take off both battery terminals and wait till the system completely drains, hook back up the batterys, turn on the key, depress pedal once,, turn off key.. and then ecm should calibrate to the apps.. not sure it actually matters though.. good vid, th;anks

  • @jamesgriner31

    My apps was fine , it was a bad ground, and u follow the "how to" book it does'nt talk about the ground. Therefore i wound up with a new APPS i did'nt need in the first place.

    • @floridafenceland1137
      @floridafenceland1137  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So each brand sensor has a specific voltage and sometimes they are printed on the back of the sensor and you have to match that voltage by clocking the sensor or adjusting the idle screw to get your correct voltage. I have since this video bought the timbo sensor from genos garage and it has been better than any other I’ve had by far I highly recommend this part

      Some 2003 trucks have that assembly, some have it under the driver’s side battery box. My 2003 has the traditional location, but an almost identical one (only difference is DRW vs SRW) has it under battery box. Not sure why they did that, but they did 🤷‍♂️

      The best one is a newer design using hall affect. Made by Wells Vehicle Electronics. The other ones use a variable resistor (potentiometer) that will wear especially when you cruise at the same location for a long time just making small throttle variations in one area.
