    Uh, could you guys do one of these every other day, or so? I'm building a new garage, and so I am in need of inspiration! Thanks

      Every other day would be a bit much.
      Thanks again for your support Chuck.

    Hi, what's the meaty looking stud extractor you're using? Is it a Snap-On part? Thanks

    • @klassikats
      @klassikats  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes it is a snap on stud remover/installer. Its the best one for not damaging the threads.

    Firstly thanks for the Video , really enjoying the 930 rebuild , What sort of life span would you expect from a Rebuild turbo engine of that vintage?

    • @klassikats

      I would expect the engine bottom end to go 250K and the heads to go approximately 125K. Assuming correct maintenance is performed.

    Kurt I notice in a lot of these engines you rebuild, there is significant carbon buildup on the piston and rings. The same was true on my 1980 SC. Will putting my now inactive O2 system back in place reduce this or are these engines better without it ? I have SSI exhaust and would need to install a bung for the sensor.

      Kevin,
      Using an O2 sensor is not going to have any bearing on carbon buildup. Most of the carbon buildup comes from oil consumption, and some will be fuel. It is normal for the 911 engine to burn oil, and therefore, there will always be some carbon buildup.

      @@klassikatsThank you for the quick answer Kurt. So would you reinstall the O2 or leave it as is.

      Thats up to you, if you have to pass emissions testing in your area then yes you will need to re-install the O2 sensor. From a drive-ability stand point the O2 sensor will give you active fuel trim adjustments but the engine will also run just fine without it.

    Greetings from the UK, have you ever build a 996 Turbo Mezger engine?

    • @klassikats
      @klassikats  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No, stick with the air cooled engines.

      @@klassikats Ahh ok, mine will need doing at some point, your videos are really interesting and useful, they put into perspective just whats involved on a much simpler engine. Thanks for the videos Kurt, its honestly a true pleasure to watch a master craftsman at work.
