Just ordered Ronin SC: 1 ) after 1 year price dropped to half the original price now is 229€ on DJI website with briefcase handler included; 2 ) RCS2 has built in battery when it will fail you can just throw away the all gimbal; 3 ) on RC is possible to detach handle to make it small for transportation. If you need more power for bigger camera + lens I think weebill S would be the best option
Hey Jake good video quick question i just bought the rsc2....how do you keep the camera locked whilst filming...should i be locking one or two axis with the gimble powered on or will this go against the motors
@@JakeSloan Haha, I have to add to the comment about vertical filming: TH-cam and our computers/tv's are what we are used too of course, but if you are working for brands that have Instagram as there social platform for campaigns, i think it's better to use vertical content for IGTV and stories. Because it takes up more of the phone screen. Have no clue how this fits, as there may be a part missing?
I was deciding which one to buy as a first one. As I don't change a gear very often so I decided to go with RSC 2 as build quality is much better than on weebill s. From the other hand weebill is much lighter and has much more compact form. Since I bought DJI I do not do a handheld videos anymore as gimbal gives a completely new possibilities. You can do a longer shoots with no needs to worry about stabilization. Good investment.
Much thanks for the exhaustive comparison! I have a question about Manfrotto's version of the Weebill: Is that the older Weebill with the Manfrotto name on it, or is it the current one you're reviewing here?
I needed this video about two weeks ago when I was agonizing over which to buy. Jake, do you have an aff link for the clamp on getting the Peak clip to work on the Weebil S?
LOL sorry it took me so long to get this out there!! This is the clip I use on the weebill S with the peak design plate: geni.us/BBbJDWV cheers and thanks!!
Are any of you Weebill users having issues with the weebill not staying level? Mine is all over the shop now, I film home interiors and need the gimbal to stay level, but as I turn and move through the property, it pitches and rolls quite badly. This is the second Weebill I've had, the previous one did it too. I've tried various setting, auto tune, calibration etc but it's still bad. Latest firmware as well. I'm thinking I should try the ronin rsc2 instead. It's a shame as the form factor of the Weebill is perfect for my use.
Thank you for the condensed comparison, this was informative and great. I'm not one for 25 min reviews that only would’ve told me the same info, or less!
Thank you. Still can't make up my mind. I feel dji for the pro feel and long term use. But then I like compact and so I feel having yhe webill I'm more likely to use it than not. Very clear demo though. Many thanks.
Great comparison. I have been intrigued about the RSC2’s cool briefcase mode when it was introduced. Never actually bought it because I own a WeebillS, but I have to say after seeing your demonstration, I’m glad I didn’t switch. The briefcase mode is just so much easier to get to on the Weebill S as you demonstrate. Having to turn on and off with the RSC2 makes it inconvenient, in the sense that the user has to choose one mode at a time and can’t do both at the same time, going from low angle to high angle for instance.
Thank you for a great companion video! I’m still using the Weebill S, and the RSC2 seems like a too small upgrade. However, if I want to increase the payload as well as performance, would you rather recommend the RS2? A comparison between those two would be awesome!
I agree the RSC2 is not a big upgrade more of a side step from the weebill S. If you needed heavier loads or larger loads then the RS2 would be the way to go. I don't know if I can get my hands on one to compare but I will try! Cheers
Thanks - a lot of information packed in here at a fast pace. The one complaint I see on the weebill S on a few reviews is the axis locks eventually breaking. Note- vertical video is now becoming almost essential if your shooting for SM.
In fact the locks are not reallly broken but simply displaced inside. So you can open the plate, simply unscrew the 4 screw with smallrig tool, on roll and tilt axis and replace the spring and two other plastic correctly. Another things is tripod leg that become loose , but again you can self repair by screw them back as a contrary to other gimbal. From what i see on the reviews the weebil s is a good gimbal at good price with good payload clearance, ease of balancing, lightweight, compact, easy to repair, giving great result, with a nice low footage with slung handle.
@@markshirley01 the only one where i don’t see the panel to open is the pan axis on the handle but i bet only the tilt and roll axis are displaced on 99% of peuplé, probably due to a shock. I would recommend not to keep the camera and lock on for any other thing than balancing. It is not for transport with the camera on the gimbal. It is for balancing and transpott in the bag without the camera. But yes tilt and roll axis locks can be self repaired. There is a video showing it. I think you can search ´weebill s locks repair’ it should give you a result probably.
I'm still very happy with the Weebill. I'm like you, where I use the Peak Design clips on all my gear. My issue is with the extra plate I use on the Weebill. It comes loose and swivels after some use, no matter how much I tighten it. I need to either get a better plate or rig up some grip tape on the one I have. Which plate do you use?

So easiest with the Zhiyun and those transmount quick release things. Overall, too nice tools to work with.
Agreed the underslung mode of the RSC 2 is not nearly as easy as the weebill s and thankfully they have been adding lots of features to the weebill s through firmware updates recently!

raven eye doesn't work with the a7c?? why not I don't see why it would be different from the other sony cameras. If you plan to go Weebill I would wait just a bit longer to see what they will release
@@JakeSloan that was my expectation when I bought the camera, however how i understand it the RSC2 with Raveneye needs 3 cables connected to be set up properly, and the A7C is lacking one of the ports required (Sony multi). Just wondering, is the transmission kits for either of these adding much? For me its the difference of over $300 on the Weebil kit and $275 in the Ronin. I am still deliberating which is the best one for me. I have a nifty fify on an unstabilized body id like to use
Great comparison, tks for sharing!! I love my weebill S, the small form factor is important to me. But i HATE the Image Transmitter that came with the package. Just wondering, is the transmission kits for either of these adding much? For me its the difference of over $300 on the Weebil kit and $275 in the Ronin. I am still deliberating which is the best one for me. I have a nifty fify on an unstabilized body id like to use
it adds a bit but not used as much as one might think really
@@JakeSloan thanks jake. Might not bother for now and upgrade later! Ronin or weebil is the next question haha
What gimbal do you recommend me for a sony a7siii? Weebill s, rsc 2 or crane 2s?
currently I would recommend the RSC 2
Is Zhiyun Weebill compatible with Sony RX10 IV? I tested Sony RX10 IV with DJI Ronin SC and the external part of the viewfinder has not enough space.
yes it is
Great comparison, tks for sharing!! I love my weebill S, the small form factor is important to me. But i HATE the Image Transmitter that came with the package. Smart Follow stopped worked in the last firmware update, try the support ans nothing, so I gave up of transmitter. Keep it up the good work!
Thanks! I have had trouble with the image transmission system from time to time but usually a firmware update fixed it. One thing to keep any eye on is I accidentally switched mine to a different band and once I got it switched back everything was working again.
Can i track with the DJI RSC 2 when i buy the standard package?
You will need the raven eye unit as well to track
Great comparison Jake. I really enjoy the Ronin.
Thanks Eddie! I am too, I loved the weebill s but after a year of daily abuse it was starting to fail...
Your not the first person to mention the locks breaking on the weebill. Vu form vufilms had a few locks break.
yep its a weak point
I use Velcro lol cause i dont wanna damage the locks lol
Great review..
in the future can you make you reviews user friendly ,please incorporate a time stamp so that viewers can navigate back n forth with ease ..
I do on the longer videos
Great review, subbed.
Thanks!
It all came down to payload of 1.2 ish kg on weebill s vs 3 kg on rsc2.. rs3 mini would be a better option but can't use the raveneye with it
very good point
I am beginner and watching videos about these gimbals. I have a6400 with sigma 16, need documenting my travel vlog, so what do you recommend me please?
I would recommend the RSC2 for sure
@@JakeSloan thank you very much
@@JakeSloan my dji is on the way huaha
I was the guy who just had to have the Ronin - S a few years ago. I've never used it. I'm a failure.
I don't use gimbals for TH-cam much anymore since cameras have had such good stabilization put in them, however I do use them every day for client work. you aren't a failure! just different needs lol Cheers
@@JakeSloan I thought I was going to become the next great real estate videographer for side hustle and I never got into it.
I bought the RSC2 for 300$ and it works perfect with my X-T3, build quaility superb and smooth footage.
fantastic
what lens do you use with your xt3 for video? And how are the controls on the gimbal for xt3? Can you do things like focus pulls etc?
Still trying to decide whether to go for weebill or ronin.. will weebil be bringing out an update version of this does anyone know? as im leaning towards the rsc2 .. but.. would love the smaller form factor of the weebil-s..
The weebill s has had lots of updates
@@JakeSloan hmm ok
@@JakeSloan i think the reason im leaning towards the rsc 2 is the active tracking seems to be better from the reviews ive seen..
@@CultureDrift you will get active tracking only if you buy the raven eye...
@@adiboyxbox it does work just with your phone from what i understand
I'm using a6400 will I be able to charge my camera with weebill s or dji rsc2?
no unfortunately
@@JakeSloan . Ok, thanks 🙏
does them both have portrait mode?
No
Yo man!! Your comparison is one of the best !!! All details covered!!! Trust me ! I am not kidding !! Since i watched almost few hours about rsc2/rs2/ weebill s !!! ( i have weebill s , heavily used! Joystick broken , checking with repair service, but having another project soon , so, i am checking dji rsc2/rs2)struggling to buy or Not...so...i keep watching all related videos...hahhahahahahah
Anyway, thanks💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thank you!
I prefer the size of the Weebill S. I also own old school type of glidecams. Old School stabilizers are still best for me
Me too on size. Old school glide cams are an art form lol
@@JakeSloan I agree!
Ok. I'm going to give the Weebill S a second chance. I bought it when it first came out but couldn't not make the tracking work. Perhaps the firmware updates have improved it. Thanks for the vid!
Take a look at the weebill 2
@@JakeSloan Do you like the new screen? How about the focus button? Some say its placement is awkward ... Call me crazy but now I'm thinking of just go for the DJI RS 2 pro. It's cheaper than updating my Sony 6600 ( I want the Sony 7 SIII when I can justify the expense) and has great tracking, according to the reviews. Do you have an amazon link for the gimbal? I enjoy your content. Thx

Informative video, yes… But not helpful. I was hoping that by the end of the video you would help me decide which one to get… And they both seem so equal I can’t make a decision. If you could only have one… Only only one… Which one would you buy?
get the DJI RSC 2
Sold! Thank you!
Thanks. Great video. I think i will go with the RSC2. Can i install the Manfrotto 323 base plate on top of the RSC2 instead of the arca swiss that you have? I have Manfrotto 200PL in all my cameras and tripods, so it would be nice not to change to arca swiss.
great choice. I think you probably could without too much issue
excellent review
Thank you kindly!
weebil S has always has the points A and point B on the wheel for hard stops.
Yes but it didn’t have the ability to auto calibrate those points.
QUESTION: I want to mount a camera (Canon M50 or M6) with the usb port on the right - does anyone has the same pairing? Is this a problem?
I haven't tried it personally hopefully someone will chime in that has
@@JakeSloan I'm buying a USB-C cable with an L shaped. I think this'll be my best solution!
Thank you!!
You’re welcome
Your volume settins seems a little low. Most people post videos between -10 and -5 db.
Mine are posted at -6 sooooo
@@JakeSloan It should be ok, but maybe you should listed to it on you tube, maybe they're messing with you ? :-) Good luck, and keepup the good posts !!!!!!!!!!!!
The Rs2 seems very horizon gittery similar to the RS. Very slighty but still so
might be a bit
you could have ended the video after the 10:00 mark ...take the 6:58 vs dji at the 10 min mark and yea game over....when you're shooting a wedding a cant ask people to freeze lol thanks for the video ...I was almost going dji for sec
youre welcome
Weebill S all day.
The Ronin simply doesn't offer enough difference to justify almost double the price.
Agreed!
practically the Weebill S still perform most of the gimbal movements
yes it does
That comment about vertical video cracked me up in 2021 the world is upside down!
Lol
Hoping Weebill will be better in terms of privacy. DJI is basically giving away your phone info to China, from what I've seen in a documentary. I'm pretty creeped out by them, even though I like their products
Yeah it’s a big issue these days.
Great am I first oh no I am not 2
lol but you are here! so that counts
@@JakeSloan lol I am 2th dude
@@SachchaiBhajan twoth
Shame about the axis look.
I guess the Weeble Wobbles now.
Agreed but after a solid year of abuse I am not surprised
The perfect gimbal is not out yet
Agreed
Rsc2 has expiration date 3,4 years confirmed by dji forum when weebill s has not. (Interchangeable battery) i cannot buy 600$ canadian device that die after 4 years.
True however in my experience based on use neither of these gimbals will last much longer than 3-4 years
@@JakeSloan maybe this is how it would be for you. But me i still have the short i had when i was 15, and i have 52.. ah ah
Weebill S is not as future proof as the RSC2 and over a few years the RSC2 will hold a lot better resale value over the Weebill S.
I think you’re right
Wow , really ? , You mean the permanently attached batteries and hinge on the rsc2 will last longer than the removable batteries and fixed handle mount point on the weebill s ?
