More than any other new feature, the wireless control feature is the biggest reason why I'm considering an upgrade to the RS3 from the RSC2. You are one of the only reviewers who gave it more than a passing mention. Thanks.
You can have a RS3 but if you do not know the technique on how to use a gimbal, no amount of stabilization can save you. I have gone from gimbal to handle held + catalyst browse stabilization and couldn't be happier. Less gear, less setup time, less things to worry about during a shoot. If you really need a gimbal, get the RS2. They made the RS2 good enough for stabilization, assuming that is why you got a gimbal plus it's like $250-350 in the used market. Spend that $750 for a RS3 to book a plane and go somewhere to shoot.
While the RS3 isn't a major leap in stabilization over the RS2, it's important to remember that some people will find more value in certain features than you or I will. Thanks for the comment!
Not having to use the app is quite a big one for me. Definitely seems worth the cost difference. I have been using the SC so it will be an even greater upgrade in my case. You've definitely convinced me the RS3 is the right one so thank you again.
Great video. I see you're using the a6400 + the 17-70 Tamron. I have a similar setup, but with the a6600. Any issues balancing this? Does it work properly in Portrait mode? Are there any limitations? have you tried using & comparing the Portrait mode in the camera, versus using the dji vertical mount? Just curious if I'll need that mount, or whether what's provided will be enough for portrait videos.
I've used heavier setups and it has handled it like a champ. I don't have experience using the DJI vertical mount but I really like how the portrait mode handles the weight of any setup that's lighter than 6.6lbs. With that said, if I constantly shot vertically, I would invest in the DJI mount.
I am you 882th subscriber! Planning to buy a gimbal for my Nikon z6ii. It will be my 1st gimbal. Was confused between rsc2 and Rs3. Now I hav decided to go for RS 3 😊
Will the rsc2 handle a sony a9/a7iv with 70-200 2.8 mkii? It is well under the 3kg payload limit advertised. If not, will the rs3 pro handle the above setup?
I've never used that combo personally but technical specs say it's about 4lbs which should work on the RSC2 (6.6lbs payload). With that being said, I don't think it would fit/balance on the gimbal due to the size of the combination. I do think the RS3 Pro would be better. I'm actually working on something regarding the RS3 Pro!
@@RaphealPersaud right I'm with you. I have the rsc2 but never got round to using it and have lent it to a mate to figure out how to use. 80% of my work is done with the 70-200 mkii so would be ideal if it works and saves me buying the rs3 pro lol. I already have the raven eye and focus motor from the rsc2 which im guessing will work with the rs3 pro? Im subbed with the bell so will be interested on whatever your working with on the rs3 pro
useful video, thank you! one suggestion: lower the volume of the music on the background, it may seem cool but it`s a trick that can get old very fast and become just distracting. focus on the info you want to deliver. straight to the point is better. cheers!
@@RaphealPersaud Yeah! I really want to try manually focusing some old glass on my gimbal (I've got an RSC2 just now), but that's not as practical for weddings, etc. as being able to zoom on the fly (plus I can't wait to try a Jaws-style 'zolly' shot on a bride & groom 😂)
you missed the part where the RSC2 can do all of that. shame man. you really didnt know the rsc2 can do portrait mode with the flip of a switch? I just sold my Rs3 and bought a RSC2, its half the price and almost the same thing. only difference is the fancy smasncy auto lock feature, but that is very much a gimmick - check out Dan's video th-cam.com/video/xpKwW0tSy1g/w-d-xo.html at 4:40 for the portrait feature, genuinely dont know if you didnt know this or are somehow a dji shill selling fake news
Hey, thanks for the comment! I should have been more thorough with the portrait feature on the RSC2. You're right, there technically is a portrait mode on the RSC2. However, in order to achieve that mode, you need to manually open up the top half of the gimbal (as seen in Dan's video) - which is not just one flip of a switch as you put it... Unless I'm wrong? Also, just so I don't misunderstand you, can you clarify what you mean when you say "the RSC2 can do all of that"? Were you referring to just the portrait mode or another feature?
@@RaphealPersaud Hi Rapheal, It's quite old and irrelevant at this stage probably, but in fact "breaking in half" RSC2 is not necessary to do a portrait mode. You can do it by pressing M button twice or assigning Portrait mode to 1 of 3 M modes (can be done in Gimbal menu, app is not needed). While holding Gimbal in a normal way, it will aim camera up, so you'd need to sort of lay down the gimbal 90 degrees forward to aim lends to what is in front of you. It makes the whole thing ultra front heavy though so it is better (or maybe even necesary) to have a handgrip attached to one of the nato ports. Not ideal but better than having it broken in half as then you're stuck to holding it forever as there's not way to put in away on little tripd it comes with.

Absolutely love my rs3 only used it at one wedding so far but it’s been amazing.
This is me right now. Was hoping I could sell my RSC2 and upgrade to the RS3 pro. But in sooo not happy with the RSC2
Could you tell me if the RS3 is compatible with the Nikon D780 and/or the OMD OM-1? Is the RSC2 compatible with these cameras as well?
Great video. i have issues with the focus puller, its shifts aawy from the lens when am pulling focus. any tips on that ?
Shifts away? Can you elaborate on that? Do you mean the focus motor moves, the lens moves or something else?

Happy shooting man. Glad I could be of some assistance.
Great video. A quick question, do you think the rs3 will balance my lumix gh5, viltrox adapter and sigma 18-35mm
Very easily. The weight limit is 6.6 pounds.
@@RaphealPersaud okay. Thanks so much. I just ordered for it.
Another 🔥 video bro!!! You made the RS3 look really good - dji should slide you a cheque lol.

Great review. Please does the rs3 Come with a carrier?
The normal version does not. The combo version does.
Is there any significant change in stabilization between the two apart from all the bells and whistles
The RS3 is slightly better but not significant.
Great video! Thanks man. Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
680th subscriber here, great vid man.

Great video men
I just bought this. Subbed bro!
Thanks for the sub!
I had to upgrade this week. My analog stickon my RS2 all of a sudden broke!
Hope you like the RS3 bro!
dude, mazing ~
Is the stabilization improved?
Improved from the RSC2? Only slightly imo
Does activetrack work in portrait mode ??
Are the controls on the advanced tilta ring compatible with the rs3 (non pro)?
nvm saw your follow up video, got me excited for a second haha
...Why did it never occur to me to use the focus wheel to control zoom? 😱
Especially with auto focus right?
