    I watched this video 40 times lol when I was deciding on a gimbal...went with the Weebill S. After about a year of using it and growth, I am now considering the RSC 2 and selling my Weebill S. Great job Peter! Video continues to help in decisions.

    I’ve been debating on these two back-and-forth since the release. For some reason, the Weebill S here in Vietnam is only $250 new. A breakdown like this makes me lean more to the DJI, but I also have to think about how much I’m going to really use it

    Peter, good review. Your content is great. Thank you! I also have both gimbals. One thing that I really like on the Weebill S is being able to hold down the front trigger when in Pan Follow mode, to get temporarily into Follow mode when you need to change the tilt angle. I like to shoot 95% of the time in Pan Follow mode, and just occasionally switch to follow mode to adjust the tilt angle, and this works great. The RSC 2 does not have this, as the front trigger puts you into Lock mode. To adjust the tilt, the only way to do it is to use the joystick, and I find that to be much harder.

    Honestly to me Zhiyun is like Android. They are the ones coming up with new and innovative things buttttt they're always buggy until 2 or 3 updates later. DJI is like Apple where they take these new innovative ideas and perfects them and then everyone just suddenly forgets that Android (or Zhiyun) did it first lol

    • @RossFeighery
      @RossFeighery 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So true! I had the first Weebil S in like 2019 before they took it off the market for a while. Luckily I returned it, was super buggy. Now I have the early 2020 version with the whole image transmission system and it's still kinda clunky. Thinking I should probably dump it for the rsc2

    • @stiknpoke

      Uhm, Apple came out LOOOOOONG before Windows. Bill gates ripped off the OS system, and was sued accordingly. They are also limited in how Windows can actually function due to Apple's original copyright... But I get your point.

      @Danthrax66 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stiknpoke Actually Apple and Microsoft both ripped off Xerox who were developing a ton of GUI and computer interface stuff that never made it to the public. They all sued each other and all of the lawsuits were thrown out. I also think when most people are talking about Apple taking existing ideas and polishing them up they are talking about in the modern era (after iphone came out).

    I’ve been debating returning my weebill for the dji since I’m still within the return window. The only thing making me want to keep the weebill is the ability to easy go to underslung mode. It’s so easy. It seems to be a bit of a hassle with the dji regardless of how cool it looks

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct. the ability to instantly go in to underslung on the Weebill S is really great.

    • @PropheticEclipses
      @PropheticEclipses 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t purchased any yet but if I get one I would go for the weebill because of the underslug convenience of going back and forth in the shoot. Who cares how kool it may look for the DJI to change to underslug mode it defeats the purpose in a shoot. Secondly the battery issue in the long run the weebill is just better.

I had a problem while using a small rig magic arm where the end that I would screw into the rosette to hold my field monitor, and it dented in the side of the battery location, moving my batteries and not being able to turn the weebill on until I took out the magic arm.

    Thanks 2020 for your objective reviews and tests. As soon as we go out of the compatibility lists of the different gimbal brands, it is difficult to find infos for a less conventional use : I use a bridge Lumix FZ2000/25000 and I just don't know what gimbal could fully fit in. I thought that the Weebill S could give more space at the back that most other gimbals (Ronin SC, AK2000 C etc...) but you say that the new RSC2 can fit lengthier/ heavier lenses. I am in despair and smoke coming out of my ears. What to choose ? So many materials, so many reviews but very few experimentations. Everyone working with most common (and fantastic set-ups). Could you put your hand on a FZ2500 and try it ? Thanks again for your hard and didactic work

    🙌Great test. If you have a moment, I have a few questions.
    For newbies, which of the two do you recommend❓ Or the learning curve is similar, so there will be no difference from one to the other, in the long run.
    Another question I have is that I have a Panasonic G85 and it seems that with the Weebill S, you can't even use the start/stop button to control the camera. And I think that the DJI can even change the aperture or the ISO, but I'm not sure because they don't give much information about it on the respective websites.
    Do you know anything about this❓ can you help me with something❓

    You just like your new toy more, as we all do. ;)
    Imo, in a basic configuration, the Weebill S may win the weight battle, because acutally you just need 1 mini tripod and it works fine and you don't need the smallrig mounting thing at all. Same goes with the manfrotto adapter. Take off those 3 things and voilà, the Weebill S is lighter than the RSC2.
    Btw, thanks for the great informative videos. 🔥

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is correct. The expensive smallrig monitor mount is not needed. both of the gimblas are so light, that any extra weight on them won't do any difference when working with them. They both have pros and cons, and as with camera bags the perfect one never excists. The important thing is that they can get the job done.

    Great video. I have and use the WeeBill S. The 12hours battery life is only a dream never ever you get that much especially if you use a focusing motor or you give voltage to the cam. it might only be 2-3 hours BUT you can change the battery I have 5 sets (5 x 2) so it is no problem. With the DJI I don't know it might be problematic as well (I think so) and than you have to charge. All other observation are real BUT the DJI is a brand new gimball and the WeeBill S is old now so we might get an even better from Zhiyun soon. All of them will improve as time goes by. The WeeBill is a great tool the footage is super and it is smaller which is a plus I think... (and the accessories also cheaper I think like image transmission system etc...)

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I agree that getting 12 hours out of a set of batteries is not possible, and therefore I also preffer to have a gimbal that has swopeble batteries. The internal battery could be a problem for the RSC2. On the Ronin M there are problems with some older batteris.
      I beleive that we soon will se a follow up for the Weebill S.

    • @rockjano
      @rockjano 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeterMakholm Absolutely. I agree if I would buy now I would also probably choose the DJI... BUT the battery problem is a real concern, I usually have to change battery after 2-3 hours of heavy usage with the Zhiyun... which is not that much. And i am sure it also goes with the DJI (and also the Moza and all of them). It is great if your gimbal can do wonders but if you cannot just use them it is a bummer. I don't know why everyone except Zhiyun use internal batteries. Even unchangeable internal batteries it is quite stupid. For the Moza the battery is internal but changable you can buy another one to be safe although it is very expensive...

    Hey Peter, have you had issues balancing the roll axis on the RSC2? I just got mine (GH5s & 12-35), and even when the roll axis is level, when i lean the camera to either side and let go it moves back to center. All other axis are balanced. I even tried a different lens (Laowa 7.5) and same thing happened. I've seen many people report this issue and no solution.

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Weebil S is 319 euros here and the RSC2 409. Pro combo 559. I tend towards the RSC but then the pro combo bundle seems te better deal and then the 240 euro difference becomes a huge deal. Then the original SC is available for 249. I dont need it to support a huge 3 KG camera so it is an option. Making it not an easy decision. Not too worried about the fixed battery. Even if after 5 years it has half capacity left it will be more than sufficient for me.
