For anyone else this may be of help. I had the same issue as above. I installed the Neptune RTP software and reset the board. I closed out of Neptune RTP and opened HTS. Then I connected to the board and it prompted me to erase the board using HTS. Now I'm able to upload the maps to the board. Hope this may offer some sort of help to anyone with the same problem. 👍
I did all of this including the drivers from moates for hulog but I'm still getting connection timed out. I set my time out to 1000 just to be sure. I can't find any complete information on how to set up datalogging on hts so idk why thats happening since the debugger doesn't really say much
@@hondaland_ I figured it out lol rookie mistake. I had to flash the chip with the basemap so hts could communicate. Sorry lol not alot of information on the basic stuff so I didn't know it had to be running an hts tune for hts to read it
@@MrMausTrap ah yes the port doesn't work unless your running a tune..but alot do try to datalog without something on the chip and the car running with a solid cel alot of the time. It's all a learning process. Now you have me on dial if you have any questions just HMU. Just so happens you needed help when Facebook needed to delete some things real quick 🤣
hi, i followed the instructions you provided but still it says "cant connect with ecu on COM 4" the emulator is okay but the data log is not connecting, im using HTS software and moates xtreme hulog as data logger
When you say emulator is okay you need to confirm it has the tune uploaded and running the car. One way to know if the ECU is indeed running the tune is no solid check engine light when running and j1 is jumped. Another way is setting a low rev limit to confirm the ECU is accepting tune changes. Or the extra section at the bottom of parameters. It has a check engine light flash function to confirm the tune has been loaded. Once that is confirmed then you can try all the data log troubleshooting. Check continuity of all four wires on each side of the data logging cable that goes to the hue log. I've seen a few that have had a spread out pin or one that is just not making contact. Make sure that you try raising your time out and settings on the bottom right. Confirm your com ports in the device manager and make sure that they have been changed to 38400. If you need further assistance feel free to message me on one of my social platforms listed in the links in the description of the video. Trying to get a few log running can be tricky sometimes. Restarting HTS or the computer is sometimes needed whenever com ports do not want to respond.
So does the car have to be on to.connect to the datalog cause I've got the bMulator hooked up right now and followed all instructions and it keeps timing out datalog on my 4 pin header
ECU has to have power but the engine does not have to be running. If you are using that particular device you may need to add more time out to the serial connection in the settings and I strongly recommend double checking your port settings to make sure they are set to run at the right speeds. When changing all of these settings you may need to restart your laptop just so everything is in line. Some laptops and Windows 10 on those laptops acts weird with the USB ports and HTS but I've personally learned that it is due to the device used within the ECU as once I swapped over to devices such as Cobra or demon I've never had a connection issue ever again but when using very cheap hardware it will time out all the time

Also note that if it is a ARM CPU equiped windows machine vs Intel or AMD it will not be support on ARM architecture. The frame works mess up. Another thing to note is to have the most recent version of windows .NET framework on the machine as well

Looking at the BMulator it appears to be a reverse engineered cobraRTP unit that used wires to connect to the cn2 port. 1. Confirm your actually running a tune and not in limp mode. hey man followed this tutorial after moates driver install now when ever I try to connect my hulog to datalog the debug logs say 'this operation has timed out' i can connect the hulog to crome but not hts for some reason. any help would be amazing
@@darby7002 try restarting hts and or windows when things like this happens. If on windows 10 the ports seem to get clogged or locked up with hts and hulog
Finally got my car started.. but I had my data logger working and was tuning my idle and partial throttle in nuetral.. but disconnected to take a break. Now it won't recognize my com ports or something.. I set it at 38400 and com3 and com4 as it shows on my device manager. But once I click connect on data logger it just doesn't do anything, or any pop ups.. but the data logger is highlighted in green not red as when its disconnected.. but it doesn't show any live feeds and tps says ecu not connected again.. should closing HTS fix this? Or should I restart my laptop?
I will say once I got on to a cobra or demon or any RTP/datalogger combo board and away from the hulog I never have that datalogger not wanting to connect issue anymore. I seem to even have better luck with the usb-ttl adapter that shows up when you Google it that is blue on the end that plugs into the PC like in my hc-06 latest video sitting on the laptop. They run anywhere from 2 to 10 bucks

But now I'm having trouble uploading the map, give me a time out error.

No. I then purchased neptune RTP and worked fine.

That is when you want to restart HTS and or the laptop when comports lockup like that. It's annoying windows 10 doing that

Also make sure to connect emulator first and then the datalogging 2nd
