4:09 looking at it again, and I'm realizing something else horrifying. Death don't just appear in front of you, you see him ZOOM so fast, its like he teleported. And that final image isn't just a hallway with a scary shape, it's actually the pov view of falling into your grave because Death just TOOK YOU. No fanfare, no big scene or impact. Just.... death. He didn't need to even do anything like attack you or move a move to harm.
Just to add to that, before you even see the final coffin, the trees sorta make the shape of someone falling into it! Also, at 2:30 , the lines surrounding Death are kinda put to the imagination of what they could be; the hearts of a vein, branches from the trees, or the cracks from the crystals in the Cave of Lost Souls are what I came up with. Then there's also Death's tail wagging which could be it wagging to the beat of the song, but it's wagging like a pendulum or a grandfather clock, literally ticking until the time your death comes.
The best thing about that line is that it's completely true without immediately debunking Puss's suspicions about him being just another bounty hunter.
@@glitchycat3811 I think they start somewhere near the lower middle, but it may be harder to notice because I was wearing high quality headphones at the time

one thing i forgot to praise is deaths whistle in this song not being the stock one from the movie but instead a retempoed and remixed version to fit the speed and feel of the beat. it helps the song feel different from other death songs ive heard and ive gotta congratulate oxygen for going through the extra effort to do that lol. also the song being sung through the perspective of a random person encountering death rather then one of the characters was a great move lmao this whole song is just incredible i love it.
Thank you! I was actually the one who made that whistle, No samples from the movie were used (Oxygen did an amazing job making it sit perfectly in the mix though!)
The scrapping of the sickles on each other throughout the song is freaking great. The singer trying to get through to the listener that death comes for everyone, that they didn't fight it expecting to win - and that even in the end they fell to the reaper. The visuals too are just fantastic, absolutely love this and will repeat it until the day I die
I'M ACTUALLY FREAKING OUT because two minutes into the song, I felt this weird, fluttering bumps on my ears as the music played through my headphones. Then I switched back to the tab and realized the flutter-bumps were PART OF THE SONG and it was MIMICKING THE PULSE OF A HEARTBEAT I never noticed it before!! It was so soft, it was nearly unnoticeable, and discovering this little easter egg made me so happy
Interesting how the song asks if you think about heaven, then your last sight in the song is you slowly being pulled down, away from said potential paradise.
Of all the songs that have been made for Death ….. this top them all the melody, even though it’s a pop sounding it is spine, shingling and skin crawling as it. Firstly, I like to thank Josh scorcher for sending me to this with his video. Also you and Tohruchan made a MASTERPIECE …. Also the whistle at the end …… STRAIGHT UP PERFECTION
What gets me. Is whoever is singing knows Death is near but still decides to fight, causing Death to hunt them. It makes me wonder how Death acts when someone embraces it and doesn't run. We never got to see that side of Death in P.I.B. just him being anoyyed when he sees Puss actually living his final life.
Think about how many lives he's ferried to the afterlife that were cut short due to a myriad of circumstances (disease, war, famine, ect.). Really puts his anger towards cats and PiB in particular into perspective
About to get really grim (pun not intended) here, what about someone who, instead of running, actively seeks him out? How does he respond to someone who has no desire to keep going? Who'd prefer their own heart be silenced?
@@AzureMoebius22 agreed, it'd be interesting to see that too. Cause death isn't inherently malicious. It's simply about the cycle. And, in this case, cats have an unfair advantage within this cycle
