      A couple years ago, I was starting to have pain and swelling in my finger joints (I'm in my 60's), and was chatting one day with my mailman. I don't recall how it came up in the conversation, but he recommended collagen, since he was taking it. Within 2 weeks, I had no more swelling or pain! I mix the powder in with my tea every morning--it's fantastic!

    62 years old- been taking collagen peptide powder in my coffee for 2- 3 years. (I have been careful about sun exposure for decades, did smoke intermittently through out the years)

    Just to share, I add biotin, Vitamin C & Evening Primrose Oil to my daily supplements intake. I just need to get Omega 3 and maybe Trytophan (for stress & mood) and probably Vitamin D. But with EPO I have found my mood has greatly improved! Especially when the period is due, amazingly I am much calmer and it does something to my hormones! But I also change my diet, to lots of butter & meat. My skin has become better, and moist, it has that glow that I never had before! But I moisturize and apply sunscreen daily too, it takes hard work to maintain our skin and sometimes if I'm lazy I just wash my face with water 🧐 but never skip the supplements 😍

      I take biotin also along with the others he suggested. However, you may know this, but I did not until a year ago. Biotin can mess with your lab numbers. It threw my thyroid numbers off. I got off of it 1 week before labs the next 3 months the numbers were great.

      take a B complex instead! (my recommendation)

    OK Dr. K, who has done *your* facelift or cosmetic procedures? Your face and skin are a testament to the best results and treatment(s) for staying young looking. I know you are not doing surgical or any filler procedures on yourself, not counting using your own skincare product line, which I'm sure is superb. Someone board certified who you implicitly trust has worked their magic on you, likely using techniques you've perfected for your patients. If I could obtain the results and perfect skin, tone, and natural youthful lift you have, I'd be flying out to S.D. tout de suite! BTW, I like your approach of no fillers or as little as possible. I've had none and will likely never use them.

It also immediately upon taking made my nails grow very fast. As for skin, it us hard for me to tell, maybe it just maintained clear skin. I have always been vigilant about too much sun exposure.I wear a hat and use mineral sunblock, which I have always used. Those factors help. Biosil is also good for bones, particularly as you age. It's like baking a cake: if you don't have all the ingredients, you can't bake the cake. So doing all the physical stimulation on the skin surface won't help if your body lacks the ingredients to make collagen. Taking supplements provides the ingredients your body needs to make the collagen.

It seems like there is not a lot of conclusive strong evidence for taking collagen supplements, as compared to Tretinoin, which has years of research behind it.

      i had fungal acne a lot and small scars (it was itchy & red) I lived with it a few years, i tried ketolizyn but it did not work on long term. 3 weeks ago i brought retinol, and it worked wonders on my skin. I can´t remember ever having such nice skin since i hit puberty 18 years ago :D my pores are also very small now. So my advice would be try retinol, but start with low percentage and combine it with hyaloron acid (for moisturizing). And of course have patience, i saw first results after a week and its still getting better and better :) i wish you good luck

    Previously you mentioned not to take more than the recommended serving size of collagen powder due to effects on the liver. However, some brands have 2x others. Your example was Vital Proteins which has 2x more protein than others. Can I double the brands with half the serving size as Vital Proteins? Thx.

    Hi I absolutely love your skin school videos, and related to skin care I have a question, should I apply my SPF first or after my other skin care products. Online there seems to be mixed messages. I usually cleanse my skin first then apply my spf 50 and allow that to absorb for 10minutes, then I go in with my vitamin c serum and then moisturiser. I guess my question is will apply products after SPF affect the SPF from working properly? 😊

    • @dramirkaram

    Did you change your mind about taking collagen internally ?
    A few month ago you said in a special video about that subject that it doesn't make sense to take collagen because how should the collagen in your stomach know how to build new collagen ?

    • @MiaMichele9696
      @MiaMichele9696 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @mart_en...I certainly hope a physician did not say that...As we learned in 3rd grade your stomach only helps break down the foods we eat...the absorption of the nutrients happens in the small intestines and distributed by the bloodstream.

    • @Cristy0505
      @Cristy0505 ปีที่แล้ว +2
