    I bought this about the same time as he reviewed the product. I am retired and drive several hours every day. The product is still working as good as day 1. It really uses a "Hall Effect" because it is basically a steel rod going in and out of an electromagnet. I have mine inverted in G27 pedals and I love it. It is still very stiff.

    I have the same Next Level Racing DD Wheel Stand, I used a second pedal plate from previous rig it has a 90 degree angle and I bolted them together. I used an adaptor from G27 pedals to my TM T500 wheel base. I had to cut the grounds since I pulled the assemblies from the plastic case and grounded it thru the metal to metal contact. It is in the instructions for mounting your pedals to the DD Wheel Stand. His uses the connection away from the wheel base. Just something to keep in mind.

    Great review. I am a ps4 user. Got some issues with my true brake. On some games we can't calibrate the pedal "in game", main example is ACC. As a result I need to apply a lot of pressure to get to 100%, a lot. It feels I can stand on one feet with the amount of pressure. Afraid i might due some damage to the gear, or to my own knee.
    Any solution? Don't think so. Already contacted Kunos to see if they get that calibration option that all other games including the original AC have on the ps4. Other than that... it's a great mod.

    Would you say these are more a hybrid? neither a load cell or potentiometer ! Also switching bumpers could be time consuming until you've found the one that suits you but looks like a good alternative solution to more expensive LCs.

    @SimRacingGarage Thanks for a great review. Ordered a set. Question about the bodnar cable. I never understood that the cable was useful to bypass the firmware in the G29 and newer wheels that distorted the brake linear input. That said, I have a DFGT with a set of G27 pedals modded to work with it. I intend to use the DFGT wheel in line with the TrueBrake modded G27 pedals. I'm assuming that the firmware in the newer logitech wheels you mentioned doesn't apply to the DFGT? And if it does, then that means I'll need to get the Bodnar cable... right?

    • @simracinggarage3026
      @simracinggarage3026  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The brake curve is applied by FW in the G29/G920 wheelbases. If you run the pedals through the g27 wheelbase you won't need the Bodnar cable. Unless of course you want to run the pedals directly to your PC.

  • @bertram-raven

    There has been a lot of hate on this mod, mostly because of the way it is marketed. Despite that, once you use it you realise it is an excellent mod which is much cheaper than but the equal of a load-cell mod for the Logitech pedals. Yes, it won't be as good as pedals designed for load-cells but it is pitched perfectly for the Logitech pedals. However, if you do not have any pedals as yet, it is not economically smart to buy the Logitech pedals and the TrueBrake mod together. It will be cheaper and ultimately much better to buy one of the various entry-level load-cell pedal sets available from Fanatec in 2022 on. So, if you are on a budget and do not expect to buy more kit, get the TB. If you are starting from scratch, look at a different wheel and pedal combination.

    Your videos are absolutely the greatest! I'm very new to the sim community. I have a cousin that's been paraplegic since he was 16, hes 26 now I believe. Cant use his legs. I just recently visited his state for a death in the family. He showed me his racing wheel and pedals. I then watched him play Iracing stuff and seen how he was having to use his hand on the pedals while steering with the other hand and felt terrible because hes really into racing. The wheels with analog paddles seem super expensive. Being handicapped, he struggles financially and hes recently started a family. I'm trying to build him a sim rig. I was really wanting to do a 2DOF with traction loss using aluminum extrusion after looking into everything heavily. I'm not wealthy either lol. I've realized it might be out of reach for me to do for him. Everything seems pretty expensive. But I REALLY want to make his sim dreams happen. Can anyone point me in the right direction on a build thats 2dof with traction loss that isnt going to cost more than 1.5 grand? Its going to take me long enough to learn actuators and servos. I'm getting overwhelmed lol. Any help would be super appreciated. I am in other communities online but I cant really find anything for what I'm looking for.

    If you were limited to console which would be a better upgrade Ricmotech or Truebrake? I would invest in CSL Elite pedals but to make it compatible with a G920 it would cost like $100-$200 more.

      Depending on how much pressure is required to get to 50% or so before the Logitech wheel would assume the bump stop is, I could see it still working well, issue with most brake mods with the G29 is that the wheel doesn't use 100% of the travel

    Pfff! This is a week to late, today my first load cell pedals arrived, the Fanatec CSL Elite LC to replace my G29s pedals. It feels very different, guess it takes some time to change from potentiometer G29 pedal to LC brake pedal. Did you guys go through this experience? How much time/hours did it take to get used to the LC brake? I am doing Practice and Special Events in ACC, not feeling ready to race online yet with the Fanatec LC brake :-)

    • @edteach3r
      @edteach3r 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ștefan Roșu : I had the same experience a number of years ago when I bought my CSR Elite pedals with adjustable loadcell brake. I was pretty darn good with my G27 pedals (which I had used since they came out until 2008), knowing exactly how to use ‘em to be effective in my racing... hit the brake pedal all the way to the floor and then ease off to release the lock-up (NOT the other way around). I found that I could be very consistent in my braking and enjoyed the immediate, light response of the brake pedal ... very helpful on turn-in. The good news is that it does not take long to get used to the load cell and it is definitely more life-like, even if I probably still was better with my G27 loosy-goosy brake.
