Former IndyCar racer and quadriplegic Sam Schmidt drove a modified racecar around the track during the 2014 Indianapolis 500 festivities, becoming the first person with quadriplegia to drive a racecar at high speed using integrated advanced electronics.
Arrow Electronics and its partners developed the technology that could change the automotive industry. Engineers modified the car-a 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray-with a human-to-machine interface so that Schmidt can drive it using only his head. It is known as the semi-autonomous motorcar, or SAM.
:') The feels. Wouldn't get in the car but seeing him be able to drive again makes me happy
This is why Arrow Electronics if 5 Years Out!
Beautiful! I admire Sam so much.
What a great video about Indycar's Sam Schmidt!! Reminds me of Alex Zanardi's laps at Germany!
Great message. Forward. Always forward!
Sam Schmidt is an exemple of inspiration.
This is the most inspiring thing I have ever seen. Props!
I'm not lying i watch this ad though i want to become an race car driver too.
Amazing story :)
Now here's a company that completely differentiate themselves from the "Usual Paper-Ware Companies"
Thanks Arrow Electronics.
This is awesome. Just don't do this with an ap1 s2000 or worse yet a 930 turbo. Correcting the snap over steer would be neck breaking.
I'd love to know what song this is, is anyone able to point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Passtschon Hi there, thanks for your interest! The music is actually an original score we had produced just for this video. Hope this helps!
Arrow FiveYearsOut Thank you so much for taking the time to reply :) This does help greatly, as I can stop searching lol. Is there any way you'd be willing to email me a Google Drive link for download, or something of that nature, so that I could listen to this song on my playlist? If so, let me know, thanks!
Passtschon Unfortunately, it's not a track that we're able to provide. :( Really appreciate your interest though, our marketing teams will thrilled to know it was so well received.
