You can also use weed as fertilizer. Just cultivate a field that has got a lot of weed and you might get up to 100% fertilized field bonus. That's how I do it and it works great
I never really used oil seed radish in other versions, as it just added an extra step, but have been thinking with seasons it would be great to plant any time you harvest, and plan to wait a few months to put the next crop in. I wonder if it keeps weeds out as well?
Never bothered with oilseed radish. I'd rather just seed with a machine that has fertilizer and then just wait a day and run over the field with more fertilizer, which is pretty quick to do. This always seemed like a wasted step. Is there any difference in the yield?
it's good if you have canola, when you harvesting canola you can ,malch and with seeder you seed that does not require cultivating, day after it's time for seeding canola you save big money on fertilizer.
It is more a cost benefit type situation. To fertilize a field you might be spending $1k in fertilizer per spray depending on what size field you are fertilizing. Seed however is much cheaper than fertilizer and if you are playing seasons then you might not be in the right season to plant the field with the seed type that you want. If I was just harvesting late summer/early fall crop, rather than having the field stay empty you can plant oilseed into it and then when you come back the next year, cultivate and plant with a seeder that also fertilizes and you save money by skipping one stage of fertilizing. Those small costs add up, if I can seed oilseed in a field for $950 a pallet, as opposed to spending $3200 on a tank of fertilizer to fertilize twice over all I would be saving money per field I cultivate.
If Farming Simulator is based on real life farming, Oilseed Radish/Rapeseed can be used as a type of fertiliser or as a type of forage for livestock, Oilseed Radish:- Oilseed radish (Raphanus sativus or R. sativus var. Oleiferus) is a type of mustard originally developed, as the name implies, for oil production. It is widely used in Canada and is being adapted throughout Michigan as a cover crop. Oilseed radish establishes and grows quickly during cool weather. It can be planted early in the spring to provide fast cover and a green manure crop for cash crops planted in late May or early June. Oilseed radish has a thick, deep root that can help break up compacted soil layers and scavenge nitrate that has leached beyond the rooting zone of other crops. Like other mustards, oilseed radish is also a highly digestible forage for early and late season grazing. In Michigan, oilseed radish is being evaluated for organic matter production in the preparation of cherry orchards. Also, sugarbeet and snap bean growers are evaluating oilseed radish as a tool to help break up compacted soil. Benefits:- Fast growth in spring or fall provides quick ground cover to protect against soil erosion and smother weeds. Thick, deep taproot can break up compacted soil layers and scavenge nitrate from deeper soil layers. Can be used as a cover crop and livestock forage. May have an allelochemical effect following decomposition that can help control soil-borne pests, including insects, weeds and nematodes. 👨🏻🌾👍🏼
I know it's off topic but it doesn't let me go into animal pens on farming simulator 19 could you suggest why this may be. Also glad your back on TH-cam with fs 22

No waaaaayyyy 😮😂. I will try to see if I is true

do you need to cultivate or can you just throw the seed right down after harvest?

Makes a lot more sense with actual seasons. Still not sure I'll bother, but it's definitely more viable
Thank you for this video it was very helpful!
It says it has to be fully grown before cultivating? I went early and i only got 70% fertilisation

Or anyone watching the video
Thank you so much! Very helpful!
How do you get the raddish and sell it after you culvate it
I don’t think you can (I could be wrong) I’m pretty sure it’s used only as fertilizer.
Need to roll it first now?
How do I harvest it?
Cultivate it
so i take it theres no way to harvest this crop
If fs22 is anything like preceeding fs needing extensive downloads after the fact I'll stick with fs19.
