9:20 in the bottom left it shows what direction you are facing. Get the first number to 0, 90, 180, or 270 exactly, then start moving with the paint tool. It will give you a straight line.

Great start! I've played like this before, and I like to check the sales constantly for good deals on equipment. Is the purple square on the map a grape vineyard? I haven't used this map yet in FS22.

In fs19 that brown thing is the only field on the map

For creating fields there is a field painting tool you could use next time. It comes with the no man's land map.
