Nez your laugh & enthusiasm for the Z4 is infectious between you & Joel have convinced me that I must have one , now this will probably make all you young guys groan " I am a 78 year old who has decided to live a little " I hope to have one the same spec as yours in the next coupe of weeks mineral grey red leather interior , " I am spending some of my kids inheritance 😅😅" I never in my wildest dreams though I would be able to own a car like this it's beautiful the folding roof is poetry in motion , the first day in my drive I will be playing with the roof up & down up & down WEY HEY , I have always gone for looks in cars I don't understand all Tech stuff I just want to be seen in this Car visiting people I would not normally bother with "78 year old poser " with a new lease of life NO SHIT keep on ROCKIN JOHN
Well I got my Z4 in Dec 2021 20i M sport in black Sapphire beige interior , I am now in my 80th year still Rocking & living the dream with this car Love it , my blonde bimbo joins me on every trip she loves the wind blowing through her hair her name is Kelly she is a Westie "dog" I fixed a dog basket between the seats she is well strapped in with a harness last year I built a garage fro from scratch which has now turned into my " Man Cave " complete with a old Sound System " ROCK ON" above door I have a sign which I have altered the wording it reads " Never underestimate an OLD MAN with a BMW Z4" your never to OLD 😊😊😊😎
Just got the 100% same car from my sister 10 years old but nearly brand new with just 22000 miles and I had so much fun with that.. great sound and also enough power and a really good drive feeling
Thanks for this video...I can almost feel the excitement over this car.. I must have one. Three years ago, I bought a used BMW 328i coupe. 6 cyl, 3 ltr. Very happy with it. (I did a road trip from Atlanta to Montana..about 2400 miles one-way. Wonderful trip.) A few months after I bought it..I saw a Z4 convertible and knew "This is for me!" It's beautiful! Now I know there's a Red Z4 out there...with my name on it.
Hi Nez, Thank you for this great video and your really fantastic car. I bought one used 20 days ago and have been waiting for it to arrive (600 km away). What I really like about your video is your enthusiasm. I've seen it several times now (consolation for the wait, it's supposed to take another week and has already been postponed 2 times) and I think I'll share your enthusiasm. It will be my 4th BMW and the first time my dream car ( the Z4 from 2009 - 2019, the most beautiful of all Z4 ). But of course I know BMW by now ( haven't driven anything else for over 20 years because they are simply the best cars in the world. In Germany they used to have the slogan "Joy of driving" and that's exactly what I felt with BMW from the first second. Great chassis (and unfortunately I never had an M chassis), great handling, great workmanship.... So I wish you a lot of fun with your Z4 SDrive20 and may you both stay in the world as long as possible (you even longer than your car, of course :) ).
thanks to you and your great vids i have just got a 2012 Z4 28i man in red only 13700mls...love it, what a fanbloodytastic drive..but all down to you man...thank you again
they need to hire you BMW needs to hire you to do review of all of the cars you're great man full of energy good personality great camera shots perfect review I think perfect spot on
Please more z4 e89 content maybe future plans or current state of the car maybe take it to a car meet but show it to us a bit more is such a great looking car
I bought an identical 2015 car in mid-Feb. 2020 (except mine is dark blue) and since then, due to the Lockdown, I've only driven it about 20 miles ! I'm SO FRUSTRATED !! But it's gorgeous.
Hi Nez, thanks for this nice useful video! How do the parking sensors behave when you're approaching a low curb? can you still detect it? what about rear visibility with the roof down? Last thing, how does it feel inside during cold winter days? Coupes are not famous to keep the cabin warm when the outside temperature drops (I imagine when it snows or the car is frosted...)
So glad I found you video. I just found a used 2015 BMW Z4 with only nine thousand miles considering about buying it so I'm glad I got to watch a video to get an idea
A beautiful looking car that has a design that has aged well. Those performance figures are disappointing though, you couldn’t even call that a sports car. Sometimes it’s not about the performance figures, it does look like a lot of fun and theatre.
Very nice video you really adore this car it’s obvious 😉 some more critical aspects would have been appreciated but nevertheless...good work expensive production lots of beautiful pictures...thank you 🙏🏻
Hi! can you please tell me, if this exhaust system is only on the M Sport version, or also on the 2011 standard version without M Sport? I relly like this sound and the backfire. i would be ashame, if this is not on the standard version mounted, that i plan to buy. thanks in advance for replies. cheers
I have fixed the annoying armrest creek! It was doing my head in for months! Tried everything from rubber/pads/foam - sounded exactly like your. turns out spray some dry lube spray into the hinge at the back of arm rest! Do you get a clatter from the roof joins? Thanks.
Nes try some WD40 on the hinges to your centre console bin and work it in a little see if the creeks stop. or other lubricant, just be careful you don't stain anything with a different application.
29mpg is not that much more economical then the "old" 3.0L NA I6 engine I have in my 2010 Z4 considering the size and power difference between both engines.. I average around 26mpg, so we are talking roughly 10% difference here.. It's the same old story again of these smaller turbo engines only really being a lot more economical if you do not use that turbo to much.. Which of course would defeat the whole point of a BMW Z4, a car in which you want to have fun when driving it.. I knew this when I was looking for a Z4 myself and accepted the hit in mpg to get that classic I6 NA BMW engine with awesome sound and smoothness instead of a new "eco" I4 turbo engine one.. Considering I do not drive that many miles each year it was a very acceptable tradeoff for me.. Have you ever looked into remapping your engine to 28i power? It's easy to do considering they are all the same engine.. Will up your fun a lot and keep your mpg the same..
How tall are you? Looking at buying a Z4 but worried about the fit. My local dealer is miles away so don't want to waste my time if i'm not gonna fit. Cheers
Do you have any problem with electronic, check errors dash board etc ? I have Z3 before, was almoust no electronic on that car and no problem. Im little bit afraid about Z4.
I have a 4 series convertible with the M sport package but find I don't really need the back two seats and would luv a two seater like my 2006 350Z was? I have vids of my 4 series on my channel great car but this Z4 particularly with the V6 would be my choice. Great vid by the way! Absolutely beautiful car by the way!!
Came from a manual car before and I heard great things about the BMW ZF box so i went for it. Don't regret my decision one bit as it's so responsive and fantastic in all situations. How do you find the manual and what made you go for it?
What I am trying to understand is what is the difference between a 35i and the later 35is apart from a few small styling tweaks 35bhp, which I don't think you will feel, plus the roof opens at speed in the 35is which I think the 35i needs you to be stationery. Is there anything else more significant, technical changes..etc Is the suspension firmer and harder ride in the 35is?
@@sayerherrera4482 well I worked out the differences and bought the 35is, never looked back it’s great fun… two tone red and black roof… looks fantastic up or down and the best kept secret that I think will make it collectable later is it’s the engine as per the collectable 1M unit.
Im looking at getting a 20i but im worried that in the future i will regret not getting the 28i... Do you feel the acceleration with M sport on and accelerating, i know you said it feels quick but is it enough? or does it need more power like the 28i provides?
When I first got the car I did say to myself that I would like a little bit more power but over time I realised that the 20i was more than enough for me. But I would say for you go for the 28i if you can because at least you know if you want the power its always there! But then you have to factor in fuel economy, insurance costs etc as it has more power! But let me know what you decide because it would be interesting to do a comparison! :)
I think i will test drive the 20i first then. See if it is enough. Im after a Valencia Orange Z4 and can only find 20i models in that colour plus at my age (20) the insurance is the cheapest for the 20i so it may be the best option. Great video its helped me alot thanks,
Get the 2.0 and take it to a tuner. I got mine stage one mapped (only software) and its been dyno'd a 260hp with 420nm of torque. Completely transforms the car and gives you the oomf you want without having to shell out for the 28i
Zimba Motoring is just purchased a 2.8l 2015 manual if you want to review it on your channel. let me know, based in southsea on the coast so not far from you.
Can't tell if he's not revving the car at all (sounds like he's shifting before redline?) or if the car just sounds bad and very low pitched... Then again all the roadsters these days are ugly 4 bangers now. Only Lotus left if you even count that as a roadster..Porsche went 4 banger too.
Your 5 hates are stupid. Boot space, wheels, long bonnet, mpg? I had a 35i version of this, if you care about the issues that bugged you about this car you should have bought a Corsa...

Always enjoy your vids my man. Take delivery of a 23i 2.5 m sport this week. Can’t wait. 🙌🏼

Love the enthusiasm, is a really nice car. You should review more cars 👍
Been looking at Z4 videos for the last few months. Yours are the best. This one in particular is a great introduction. More like this please.

the one and only bmw i would buy, simply gorgeous
Elian Bogaert it’s beautiful

Hi Nez, why did you never remap it to higher HP? Wondering... thanks for the vids man.

I have a manual 35i, love it to bits! :)
Hi Alec, thanks for commenting. Would love to try a 35i. I have heard nothing but great things about them :)
Great review! Enjoyed it lots & gained a lot from it

I cant get enough of z4‘s!
Picking up my 2016 2.0 M Sport auto in 10 hrs time
have you had any problems with it?

Fab - I love my 2014 Z4 M Sport 2.0i Auto - Mine is White
I saw on another video, holding down the lock button on the key fob closes the roof.
I have fixed the annoying armrest creek! It was doing my head in for months! Tried everything from rubber/pads/foam - sounded exactly like your. turns out spray some dry lube spray into the hinge at the back of arm rest! Do you get a clatter from the roof joins? Thanks.
Got a question mate… was your e89 in metallic sapphire black? Thanks mate
Bro if you are that excited by the 20i you should feel the 35is brother.

I had 6 different i6 n/a from bmw and loved every single one
My z has 17500 miles on it. I do love that car. 3.0 6 speed....
Its an 03.
How does the boot space compare with the Z4 with the fabric roof?
Don't fancy a sports exhaust? Sounds a bit on the quiet side but then again it is the 4 cylinder.
Cheers good video
0-60 in about 7 seconds?? ridiculous ill be needing the 6 cylinder N/A or turbo if I ever buy this car
Just remap it to 260 hp it's the same engine as the 28 with 260
How tall are you? Looking at buying a Z4 but worried about the fit. My local dealer is miles away so don't want to waste my time if i'm not gonna fit. Cheers
The1cemann I have the same model and I’m 6ft, I fit perfect there is room if you were a few inches taller
lovely car man!!!
Please car maker!! Just let us use ipad as the map screen!!
Do you have any problem with electronic, check errors dash board etc ? I have Z3 before, was almoust no electronic on that car and no problem. Im little bit afraid about Z4.
krzysztof Jaskolowski dont be afaird, i had 3 z4‘s (1xe85,2xe89) no problems with electronics at all

Steve Kioussis Straight 6, BMW don't make a V6.
Are you sure this is stock?
Yea respect Bruv.
Nice car. My 1989 Corvette has a faster knot to 60 but I do like the Z4! I'm from Zim as well. Zim UK and now USA
I have a 2013 z4 2.0 but mine is manual, what made u go for the zf

See the long grey bag in the boot, what is it?, I had one in my Z4 and could never figure out what it was for???
That's for storing skis. so you can put skis in the boot and they poke through into the bag in between the seats.
feuder ali Thanks! I would never have guessed that!! Haha!!

can you in the near future review the other z4 engines. in particular the 2.8i
Hi Chrishan, thanks for commenting. I will see if I can get my hands on one for you :)
Zimba Motoring is just purchased a 2.8l 2015 manual if you want to review it on your channel. let me know, based in southsea on the coast so not far from you.
I got a Z4 3.0si 2008 time to buy a new one
Alfred Guinto what model are you looking for?
Zimba Motoring same model for now till x mas
It's so good...they stopped making them. (23i owner).
not that many about 110,000 in total.
Can you put the roof up or down while it's moving or do you have to be stationary?
jezzyby47 While it's moving too, I believe up to 25-30 mph
jezzyby47 Only the LCI can do while moving
Is the n20 or b48 engine ? I have bmw 120i 2017 2.0L 4 cylinder (b48) and they sound like your z4 haha
It's a BMW !!!
Can't tell if he's not revving the car at all (sounds like he's shifting before redline?) or if the car just sounds bad and very low pitched...
Then again all the roadsters these days are ugly 4 bangers now. Only Lotus left if you even count that as a roadster..Porsche went 4 banger too.
you're missing a pedal.
ok, ok, nice review
ajajajajaj u laugh is so cool
easily pleased
