    I have owned a 2016 28i sapphire-black metallic with red leather interior, M-sport, with just over 50.000 km for over three years now and it is just the perfect car. I LOVE the looks from the outside, but I also LOVE the interior that is very unique. It is a great Grand Cruiser and it is also a very sporty car if you want it to be. It is very reliable ( i have had NO issues in the last three years, except that the car handled very weird after I had my tires changed. The reason was that the system had problems handling a different kind of brand for the tires). I really can not think of ANYTHING negative about the car, but if I really have to mention anything it is that the steering-wheel is a little bit low on feeling. I really think this cat has a very good potential of becoming a very demanded classic in about 10 to 15 years, so I intend to buy another one, a 35i, or maybe even two (ofcourse I will NEVER part with my 28i).

    ECS tuning FCP Euro and Turner motor sports have tons of Z4 parts. I mostly use FCP Euroas they have tons of OEM parts for the Z4.

    You broke the clip on the centre speaker housing, easily done. I fitted a bolt in it to mount a small camera.

      In black it may not look as great in pictures but with the weight of the car and the inline 6, it kind of give it a classy muscle car feel behind the wheels

    You don’t need the m sport option to have adjustable suspension. Right about how hard the ride can get in sport plus which also turns the traction control off ! Any problems with the roof ???

    Own the same model in red - I second everything you mentioned. The design is spectacular- exterior and interior.
    Never an issue - well, I also had to replace the turbo but other than that it’s been faultless. It’s my daily and no intention of replacing it. Future classic for sure.

    • @cornel-lazar

      @@Krezo200 somewhere between 80k to 90k miles. But several garages agreed that it looked more of a freak accident and not something they’ve come across previously with the N20 engines. It’s been perfectly fine ever since - the car feels like it’s new.

    Some corrections, that bumper never changed throughout the life cycle of the E89. Both the facelift and pre facelift got it with the M Sport version, the 35is got a slightly different valance and the standard SE car (non M Sport) got a different bumper. The facelift model hardly brought about any changes to the point that it really doesn’t matter if you have a facelift or not.
    That interior trim is not carbon fibre, CF was never offered in the E89, it is just aluminium with a carbon fibre type pattern etched on the top. I am sure the adaptive suspensions was an option on all cars both standard and the M Sport, it’s troublesome though and expensive to fix. Personally I think coilovers like the Ohlins or KW V3 would do a much better job.
    The 30i N52 might not have many tuning options but it’s quick enough and sounds much better and is more reliable than the N20, fuel consumption is about the same and here in Europe it’s also a pretty rare model like the 28i with most being the 23i or 20i.
    I know you don’t get the 20i in the US but for anyone outside of the US consider that the 20i it has the same engine as the 28i but detuned by BMW, a simple chip tune will bring the power up to 28i levels, kind of makes the 28i less special even if it is rarer.

      @YippingFox 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a reference, I got a 23i and it has the adaptive suspension but not the full M-trim. Now, mine is from 2009 and it hasn't had any issues with the suspension so it might also be a case of the way the car was driven/used that makes it fail.

    I have a black one now for 7 years and didn’t had any big issues so far. I did have to tweak the roof because it rattled a bit and it took me years to find out where it came from. Fixed it with putting sound deadening material behind the plastic part of the trunk. Now it’s perfect.

    • @YippingFox
      @YippingFox 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Living in the Netherlands and owning a 23i for a year now (first car I've ever had) it's perfectly fine in the snow. I've had some wheelspin when pulling away but it's been nothing that makes me feel unconfident in the car. (Granted I do not have a "sporty driving style" but am not scared of throwing it into a corner a bit hot now and then.) The car communicates well in my opinion and it's hard to understate how it genuinly "sticks" to the road, in the dry, wet or snow.
