I heard everything with hair applies to eyebrows. But it is not recommended because it’s too close to your eyes. You can look up minoxidil q&a on TH-cam
I have hypertension and according to the info I found there is a 2-3% that a user could make their condition worse. I had a friend who this happened to so what are your thoughts? I have been using prenatal vitamins and unless I’m crazy I see little wisps growing and a lot less hair loss. Also I have been using a detangler brush. Love, love your content and wish I could afford your product line as it seems amazing. I’m kind of OCD with my skincare cause I’d rather have natural glowing skin instead of trying to cover it up. I always say each to their own❤
Dr Shereen, I have used both foam and liquid 5% Menoxidal for female pattern thinning. Unfortunately, I have not been consistent with it’s use because it makes my hair stiff , like a mousse. I wash my hair twice a week and am not happy with the residue and tackiness between washes. Do you have any suggestions to make it more user friendly? What was your experience when you used it after your pregnancy ?
I found the same…made my hair look awful….dull, grey-ish, stiff. Tried to keep entirely to scalp as much as i could, still spreads into hair enough. I quit it because of that.
[TL;DR] I noticed a dandruff flare up after using Minoxidil. Should I stop? Hi doc! first of all I just wanna tell you how much I love your videos and how much it has helped me with improving my skin. I am a 30 year old female. I started using Minoxidil 5% 3 days ago and I have noticed that it led to an increase of dandruff. I noticed a huge chunk of dandruff the next morning where I washed my hair with normal shampoo and applied minoxidil(to dry scalp) before going to bed the previous night. I air dry my hair. I do have a pre existing mild issue with dandruff where I usually notice dandruff on my second day of hair wash and it has increased since the start of winter. I use a salicylic acid/Ketokonazole shampoo atleast 2-3 times a week and use a normal shampoo 2-3 times in between(total of 4-5 haiir washes per week) I have oily scalp which gets oilier in summer where I get oily by the end of a wash day. I deep oil my hair atleast once a week and before every wash, I apply coconut hair on the strands(excluding the scalp) Is my dandruff flare up because of minoxidil and If so, what should I do? Do I stop using it?
I’m no doctor, but since you didn’t get any replies, Dermatologist have recommended getting an anti-dandruff shampoo containing ketokonazole while using minoxidil. My guess is because there is some correlation between dandruff and the minoxidil.
It's like when you dye your hair. From what I understood. You look blond (for example) but your hair continues to grow with your initial color, because it is the one written in your genes. So you have to regularly reapply a dye. Otherwise, your hair will continue to grow as the "order" is given in your own genetic code. (color, length, shape/type, etc.). Here, it is a treatment which forces the regrowth of hair while there is no longer an “order” for regrowth given by the body. So if it is stopped, nothing will give a regrowth order and therefore everything will stop.
How does your hair look after you apply it twice a day? Sure it must make your hair look matted and unclean? I suffer severe hormonal hair loss but can't bring myself to do this...
Any tips for a woman using it? My hair gets unmanageable if I use it twice a day or even once a day… I’m using it on alternating days right before wash day but I’m afraid I won’t see good results
Is minoxidil usage okay for hair regrowth in someone not facing hair loss? I am 19 trying to regrow hair quick and I started using minoxidil 5% yesterday.
Does it matter the amount used? My bottle says 1 ml but I have no idea how much foam that is. And I have hair loss in the front hairline & in the crown of my head & back of head, so I need it on 3 places. Is 1 pump in each place too much?
@@strawberrielover69 No. The evidence points out that EVEN if the product doesn't touch your face, people prone to facial hirsutism (facial hair growth) can experience it. Dr. Idriss herself talked about it in a longer video.

Please answer my question anybody I am using minoxidil so i need to use dandruff shampoo,my hair becomes more oily sometimes, so can i use normal shampoo?is it okay to use normal shampoo on one day and dandruff shampoo on another dayy?
I feel nervous about losing all that hair in the beginning. Also if you stop using it, is their a better option. Maybe that won’t cause hair loss if you stop using it.
I have PCOS minoxidil, grew my hair and for the first time in a long time I had full head of hair unfortunately as a result I grew facial hair that was long and course and was extremely painful to wax. I had to stop, and the hair and facial hair fell off.
Hallo. Please help me. I have been using minixidil since ine year ago It shedded in the beginning and then new baby hair regrow. It was irritating my scalp so 5 weeks ago i switched to foam and i have been shedding since then till now. Please help.
Exactly ! It’s highly debated. Some specialist says you only lose the hair that didn’t reach their terminal state (around 2 years for the hair to reach that state), but a lot of real life people are saying once they stop even after 1,2,5,10 years, their hair fall off WORSE than before. I have heard of people saying to slowly back off minoxidil, so you go from twice a day to once a day to 1 every other day to once a week to never using it again
The 5% works best for men and women in studies (and ofc the 5% is the men's so just by that one). They always try to charge women more even for less product.
Ok you need to explain better pls. It sounds like you’re saying your hair will fall out if you stop using. Like ALL your hair not just the hair the minoxidil helped restore.
This the reason why i Only just started Minoxidil 2 months ago and will never touch finasteride. Don't want to mess with a stupid pill that affects my hormones. I want to have kids and not get a divorce for the sake of perfect hair. I will settle for great hair.

yes.
So as a woman I don't feel comfortable losing any more hair how will I hide this??
If you use it on your eye brows does that mean the hair will all fall out before growing??
Thank you so much for this very informative video! ❤
I read that it is deadly toxic to cats if they come in contact with your pillows if you use it 😦
I would love to get an answer tho this as this is concerning 😔
I saw online that it really is. I'm returning my supply to Costco.
That's why I take the oral version
Curious about this too…!
I found out about this only after purchasing mine. I have 2 cats. Now I am afraid to use it.

Try applying the liquid with a q-tip directly to your scalp.

What about the oral minoxidil? How much is effective?

You're saying regrowing but you also say that hair will fall off once stopped! Then what's the actual outcome of this?
It will work when you are using it but it is a temporary solution not a cure like she said, so if you stop using it you will lose all your progress.

You don't need to use it twice a day. Once a day is sufficient.
So do you wash your hair daily
Can u comment on using it to thicken eyebrows please?

Can rosemary oil help to keep the results?
No
According to some studies, it gives the same results as monoxydil. See Dr Rajani's video on that.
Consistent minoxidil is required to maintain the hair. Rosemary oil does not influence this.

Mam does minoxidil cause facial ageing smile lines
Hi.
Hello there.
Dr. idriss,
Could you touch-up on.
Why is someone’s new growth gray rather than a natural color after the use of minoxidil?
Could this be from a vitamin deficiency, age or pre-mature graying?
According to Paula Begoun (Paula's Choice) a study pointed out to 4% of women in the test experiencing facial hirsutism. What do you think?
That's the last thing l need , dealing with way too much facial hair now . Getting it on my face fr my pillow slip , not willing to risk it.
Well that is if you slathered it on your face which will be quite stupid since it is for the scalp

Twice a day for both men and women? Which percentage the 2 or 5%?
Once a day. I believe Some women can use 2% with good results
Thank you!
Thank you Dr Idriss

Does it work for those with pcos?
Will it work with chemo hair loss?
