Make It Simple Book - Safiya Trousers
Love the facial expressions🤣🤣 thanks Alison
Eeee I do them all the time I look a bit odd at times I’m sure 😂
I was laughing so hard because I've been there and I know the feeling when you get a day like that
It’s just aggggggghhhhh 😂😂😂
Gosh Alison you're speaking my language this week. Tried a trousers, nah😮. Then a dress, nah again 😢. So I've abandoned them both!! I feel your pains and frustration 😮. No doubt you'll conquer it as always.
Oh no 😢 I feel your frustration x
We,ve all been there Alison, it’s so frustrating when things don’t go the way we think they should.I have to walk away and leave it for another day, if it doesn’t work at least I feel better.Good luck 😌x
Praying the gods of snaps that today is the day 🤗
Love your shirt. Never been brave enough to try poppers. As for buttonholes I vow not to defeated but end up swearing all the time- they drive me insane as they are so unpredictable on the garment but perfect on the scraps which are set up identically. Aaaagh!! Anyway hope your poppers work out. Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne
I’m trying again today - wish me luck 🤞🤞🤞
I feel your pain with buttonholes Alison, hoping your shirt turns out beautifully ❤
So frustrating
Ha ha Alison you made me chuckle that happened to me using a dobbie gauze. Knacked mine ot was the wren blouse! Xx😂
So frustrating isn’t it
Oh dear Alison how frustrating. Just as well to stop and take a break. Come back the next day when you are not so tired. I am sure it will work out. Best wishes 😊
Thank you, I will- today could be the day
I’m feeling a bit like the collar on your blouse 🤣
I can’t get away with poppers on anything 🤦♀️ think I’ve cracked it and then uh oh 😦 smile and wave Alison 🥰
My life right there Lynne 😂
Just made the TATB trousers for the first time and love them, like you say a quick make (especially after a make that had me just as frustrated as you have been 😣) immediately used pattern again to make pj shorts for last minute make for holiday.
Glad you like them 😊
You’ll get there Alison. Hopefully the new plate will do the job x I like the look of the shirt, I think the line drawings don’t do it justice, double gauze is a tricky one when it comes to ironing it!
Yeh I think because I had seen someone in it I knew it would be nice the line drawings don’t really show it off x
I've used those plastic snaps that you just put in with your fingertips (ie no tool). I was a bit sceptical at first but they work a treat (although after you have done four or five, they are a bit hard on your fingers!) I have now used them on about five jersey tops (both thick and thin), so I don't see why they wouldn't work on double gauze. My only complaint is that because they are so new, the colour range is a bit limited. Hopefully once you return to your top, (because you have had a little break from it!) the snaps will go in without a problem.
Oooo what brand are they Kate
I feel your frustration nice blouse though great colour im sure everything will turn out just right 😊😊😊
🤞🤞🤞
I’ve had the same problem with metal snaps refusing to meld together 😩. Eventually succeeded by moving the position of the snap fractionally to where the fabric was less bulky. My mistake was to put in an overlapping layer of interfacing as the piece I was using was too narrow.
Good luck in sorting out your shirt
🤞
Thanks - I think I’m going to try steaming it and using my clapper see if I can flatten it off a bit before I try
What about the sew in snaps, I think you can get them in different colours and sizes. I love your facial expressions. And it would look like a "dogs dinner", too funny. In my head I eas thinking dogs dinner after she ate too fast, if you get my meaning 😂
😂😂😂 I think dogs dinner was one of my mams sayings
Shirt turned out quite well. Soft and Cool
Thanks x
Looking forward to recieving an Euphoria soon...always interested in your cover stitch work!!! xXX👍👍👍
Oooo how exciting Victoria. There’s a demo day near us soon so I’m going to head along for some tips
Blurghhhh is the face you made😂
😂😂😂😂
Feel your pain re buttonholes, I have 13 to do for the Chalk and Notch Shay dress... Naturally I've put it to one side
