Wow! Very hard to pick a favorite, they are all o lovely! I think maybe #1 or 5. Maybe 4. Oh 3 is beautiful.. lol. I love them all! I can see why you chose them ❤. Thank you for your vlog!😊
Lurve the pink/red no4 especially (ooooo 😀) and the green/pink Lady McElroy No5 (ahhh 😀). And No 1 (😍). Great value and some lovely choices. Enjoy your little treats. 👍
What a wonderful haul. I loved going to Boyes in Chester-le-Street when I lived in my home town. Now in Northampton nothing here. How I miss those bargains. Looking forward to seeing what you make. Love to listen to your accent. Miss Newcastle dreadfully. Xx
Amazing haul!! Some absolute beauties there. That first one is the same as the fabric I used for my Shay dress, just a different colour way. It's lush! x
Love fabric two. Looking forward to your plans. I had a bit of a splurge this week two stretch fabrics (bamboo French Terry, sublime 😊 and the maroon deco crane yoga active wear jersey so silky! )from g &g and three amazing buys from pound fabric their cotton Lycra, the honeycomb jersey £1,50 a metre perfect cardigan fabric with added interest and beige leaves on navy jersey, it’s poly but great for easy wash, no iron days and a lovely pattern very stretchy. I’ve got to get sewing now no excuses 😅
OMG, I love them all! But I think #2 is my favourite. I wanted to high five you through the screen for your deal on the pink and red fabric. Honestly this year i haven't just stepped in poop, I've fallen in a manure pile. Since April, half my probably 100 year old maple tree fell over our fence into the neighbour's yard, took out 2 fences, half of their shed, 1 lawn tractor, smashed a car, and took out another tree. The rest of the tree had to come down and removed, that cost $6000. My son's 2 month old car, leased in my name, was in an accident and totalled. After months waiting insurance finally paid out for the car. Thank goodness no one was hurt. Then my 12 year old oven died, new one cost me $1000. Finally last week, somehow, coming downstairs in the morning missed the bottom step and broke a bone in my foot! No more manure please! On the plus side I can sew with my left foot. I'm wondering what amazing things you will make with all that lovely fabric.
Some gorgeous fabrics there! I really miss Boyes - although I now live on the south coast, we used to go on holiday to North Yorkshire every year and the nearest town had a Boyes - it was always the first shop we went to (even before the bakery next door!). Lucky you ❤ My favourite is the last one - I think it's beautiful. I can't think of anything else but slip dresses right now lol
I'm loving the floral no 5 and number 1 - I tend to like abstract colourful prints with strong contrast. You did well in Scarborough - I though I might pop down myself!
Love all the fabric! And your reaction to the red/pink is wonderful. I remember Boyes in Beverley where my husband is from. Glad to hear the stores are still thriving. As for crying when daughters leave - mine is in her 40’s now and I cry when she arrives and when she leaves. So does she 😊
Number 5 is my favourite . If I didn't live so far away ( Norfolk ) I'd be popping up to Boyes in Scarborough tomorrow 😊 Looking forward to seeing your makes.
WOW an incredible haul. Love all of them and seeing your joy was wonderful. Cannot believe the value for money. Fabric envy here for sure- nowhere like that in South East Wales- just as well as I am on a fabric ban. And no, you will always cry when your daughter leaves but there’s nothing wrong with that. Happy shopping and sewing. Looking forward to seeing your plans. 😊 Lynne
Yes Lynne, same here. I’m a bit further west past Swansea and we just don’t have lovely fabric shops like they have elsewhere. Wonder why that is?! Frustrating! 😢
My favourites were no 1 and 2. I was in Boyes a couple of weeks ago. It’s a retail park near Durham centre called the Arnison Centre. I picked up a Nerida Hansen fabric at £10 per metre…..it’s delicious.
Wow, amazing fabric and prices, I love 1,2 and 4. I occasionally visit Boyes in Blaydon but I’ve never seen any beautiful fabrics there unfortunately, I’ll have to have another pop in.
I am so jealous of the apparel fabric and reasonable prices you have in the UK. over here in the states, in the midwest, I don't have access to such beautiful fabrics and if I do they are $12-15 a yard
Love all your vlogs. The fabrics amazing, gosh wouldn't I love a store like that in Ireland 🇮🇪. You've made my day. Love "the craic " also. Happy sewing
Hi Alison, I went on a Boyes hunt just out of interest to see how far away the nearest one to me is .Couldn’t believe it when I realised there is a branch in Cambridge! I had no idea! Can’t wait to go and have a butchers, (that’s a bit of east end for you)😂
I like number 5 fabric best but they are all lovely fabrics. There was a small package waiting for me this morning when I returned home from shopping. Just a couple of metres of William (Morris type) Garden crepe de chine from Dalston Mill. It looks better here at home than it did online. I'm going to make a top with it but haven't decided which pattern yet.
Hello Alison, brilliant fabric haul, my favs are 1 & 2. Enjoy planning what you are going to make with them, I’ll be watching your August plans vlog. Happy sewing 🧵
Love them all Alison❤ You’re reaction to the pink leopard print! Don’t we all just love a good bargain, especially when we manage to resist at full price 👍💕🤩
Gorgeous fabrics 😍 I love my local Notes stores - went in last week for an invisible zip and "accidentally" spend £ 96 on fabric! 😬😂 And didn't get the zip as they didn't have one the right length hahaha x
favourites 2 & 5 Had a few days in York in December obviously made a mistake by not visiting Boyes (or did I - I do not need fabric repeat I do not need fabric) 😺
They look great quality, Alison. I love number 1 and the purple one. There's a smashing Boyes in Northallerton (and, just down the road from there, Sew New). Durham Arnison is OK and I have had some gems from there xx
Lush fabrics Alison, I wish Crammy. Boyes was bigger and stocked fabric. Our Sophie left yesterday morning and I cried buckets, always do. Mind you as you know I have cried swimming Pools lately. Have a wonderful SewToon. Hopefully see you soon. Xxx
I know I’m so gutted about Crammy Boyes need to venture to Blaydon Sending a big hug - I’ve plenty hankies Maz I would say happy to share ( you know what I mean) x
Love the cotton lawn and the Lady McElroy no. 5 and now I am off to my local Boyes to see what they have - I have two within a few miles - aren't I lucky!!
I love number 4 I visited the lovely Andrea last Friday and hoped to get some from her but it had sold out . Unfortunately I don’t live near a Boyes. Lovely haul, Seeing how excited and happy you were made me smile 🥰
I do have rather a lot of Boyes envy. I’m down in the south and we don’t have them or anything similar. I think I like 1 the most. It. Reminds me of the Tilly fabric we got in the SHJ box but blue.
Hi Alison, I’m green with envy 🤢 what a fabulous lot of fabric and at terrific prices. Fabric over here in Western Australia cost double that price. Sewing 🧵🪡🇦🇺
What amazing fabrics you’ve got at bargain prices, i love fabric number 1 , I haven’t got a Boyes near me in Cheshire but will be looking for locations, happy sewing .😊
I love fabric no. 5. I would buy that if I saw it! As for my sewing, I am just about to make my first Fibre Mood Elisa blouse. I haven't used one of their patterns for ages and now I remember why! Why can't they just put out a pattern with the seam allowance and markings all integrated???? Also the instructions don't look good. Luckily I have just made the Donny shirt, so I am going to make it along those lines, so I am going to include a yoke and gathered back bodice.
Ooooo Aaaaahhhh wow Alison I wish the Boyes near me stocked Lady McElroy 😢I love number 2 it’s right up my street. Fabulous news about your mince pies 👀 Have a fab weekend 🥰
@@SewLikeDotty yes I once asked one of the staff and she told me it’s just pot luck what each store gets delivered 😳 obviously they must think everyone in my neck of the woods lives in poly cotton 😂🥰
I’ve got the pink leopard print from Jenny Stitches but what a bargain you’ve got from Boyes! We’ve not got one here in Scotland so I think I need a road trip south of the border! 😂
Hi Alison, can I ask did you get your cataracts done on the NHS? Did you have them set for distance? I’m surprised that they are talking about piggy back lenses as I thought they would only do that if the outcome was really off and not only due to needing glasses for distance? As in, if the outcome is good enough and you just need glasses for distance then that is okay. I’m only asking as I need one eye done and have been putting it off - as I had laser eye surgery 20 years ago and it makes it more complex and unpredictable.
Oh Alison, lovely fabric and it’s giving you fabric hugs. Hugs from me too. Xx
It really is!
Wow! Very hard to pick a favorite, they are all o lovely! I think maybe #1 or 5. Maybe 4. Oh 3 is beautiful.. lol. I love them all! I can see why you chose them ❤. Thank you for your vlog!😊

Your so funny what brilliant shopping holiday you look like a Quokka sometimes especially when you are excited.🤣 I love the 60's print.
Oh thank you had to look up a Quokka 😂

We should petition to open some 😀
