I have to be honest, when this series started, I was not sure. But, I am thoroughly enjoying this and don’t want to see it end! Like I commented last week, the editing is outstanding!! NOT an easy thing to piece together with such seamless cohesiveness!! I’ve always loved you guys, but you’ve outdone yourselves in this series!! Born and raised in Louisville, Ky. Our hills south of the city are fierce. My family and I are part-time RVers and stayed at Birdsville over the summer to go to Metropolis. It’s a gorgeous campground.
We stayed next to you in the Foscue Creek Campground in Demopolis, AL. Didn't want to interfere with your festivities, But the two ladies certainly know well how to get the rigs going for the next stop. Thanks for sharing the bike ride with all of us.

The dogs made me laugh! Back in the late 70's/early 80's I owned an MG Midget. There was a dog about a mile from our house who used to chase my car from time to time... and I'd slow down, just to let him think he might have a chance... I"m not a good backer-upper with a trailer. I actually did better getting out the walkie-talkies and helping to guide my wife into the spot - at least the times when she could remember right from left.
Foscue Creek Park is beautiful. I'm from Milton, FL and used to hunt outside Demopolis. It is on one of our Super Waterways. After USMC, I moved to the Rocket City (Huntsville) and had plans of boating to Mobile by taking the Tennessee River West to the Tombigbee River, then South to the Alabama River which puts us in Mobile Bay. Battle of Mobile Bay is where Admiral David Farragut said "Damn the Torpedos". Love the show. I live out my wanderlust each SUN night with. Charlie. Semper Fi

Enjoying the series & thanks for details on some of the parks. Just to clarify, at least 2 that you mentioned are COE parks (not SP) - Piney Grove (MS) & Foscue Creek (AL). Foscue is one of our favorites, especially if you can score one of the 4 spots ON the Tombigbee waterway.
We have gone on some bike rides. We too have done a little “hike-a-bike” carrying our bikes around obstacles along our route. Christine says she knows all too well about going over the handlebars.
I’m a solo traveler and camper with 2 dogs. You are right, Trish, there is a lot to do when you have to do inside and outside every day. But it is absolutely worth all the work to be out seeing the USA!

Oh man, I’ve been dealing with a pulled hamstring for months, I feel bill’s pain! Literally, ha. No really though, it’s terrible, takes a long time to heal and really you need to just let it rest. I wish bill speedy healing

We stayed at Mouse Tail Landing. It was there that we found Shiloh Civil War Battlefield. It is a great place to visit if you are interested in Civil War history. We went to several battlefields that summer, but this one was the best.
These bike episodes are the best ever and we’re older and jealous. We’ve got our bikes and ride a lot, but you guys are the best!! We sure love you soooo much!!

Indianapolis is gorgeous!! I lived there for 13 years I. A town about 45 min away called Greensburg. It is such a beautiful and well kept city. The mall downtown is gorgeous as well. Monument circle is amazing as well.

Well, I am glad Bill was wearing a helmet when he went over the handlebars. As I shared last week, going over the handlebars of a bicycle can be dangerous without a helmet on! I know I mentioned that I had a NDE at 8 going over the handlebars, but not sure if I mentioned my sister repeated my accident at 40 and had the same outcome as I did. Again, no helmet. It was 1972 when I did it, so not having a helmet one was the norm we didn't have them yet. My sister had no excuse! I love Kaleb attitude about things! Forever positive!

OK. This is for Caleb. I am not bragging but I was way ahead of you for horn honking!!!! Back in ancient times......55 years ago,..... my friend and I would walk along a road that ran paralell to I-5 in Oregon. We were 12-13???? And yes, the big trucks existed then. We would see how many big trucks we could get to honk for us as we walked. We gave the "sign" and were so over joyed when they would respond!! Truck drivers are to be admired for the job they do and the hours they put in. I'm 72 now and your story made me laugh and remember. Thank you.

Caleb should start auditioning for parts. I am a Michigander that moved to California many years ago. I hardly ever find anyone that knows how to play that card game. If I ever run into you we will have to play a game. Kudos to you, Mark, you’re keeping up with a 17-year-old or thereabouts, and you’re looking absolutely fantastic. I have to say that I don’t know what gets into a person that makes them say I’m going to ride from Michigan to Florida… Oh, by the way on a bike. Kudos to you all! And Trish, I know what you mean about backing an RV. I solo in a class A and sometimes I can back in perfectly, and other times not so much. You’re doing a fantastic job at doing both the inside and outside jobs. I am really enjoying this series.❤
1. Doesn't matter if the dog is large or small, they can haul! 2. Trish, backing up is a learned skill that takes practice, practice, practice. I drove a U-haul towing my son's car on a trailer, from NJ to CA. We never once backed up. If there was no way out, I didn't go in. 3. Caleb, whatever office you run for in the future, you have my vote!
Amazing, just amazing that you did this trip. Glad you did mostly back roads. I love all the footage of the biking and sorry Bill had the mishaps. He got the first hand suffering. I am impressed Caleb did this ride too! His pontificating is only rivaled by his logging truck honkability. And the dogs! Right?
So happy you guys enjoyed the trails here in Indiana! Seems like the last 10 years they have really invested in them and there are some gorgeous ones out there. Whenever you are more north in Indiana you need to stop in Winona Lake! We have a gorgeous little town with plenty of hiking and biking trails as well as a little shopping village I think Trish would enjoy!
On my second year living in a RV in Montana and i have updated and replaced about everything even down to replacing the air conditioner....I have also replaced all bulbs went to LED Also all hood vents and the fans that go in them.....Updated made all them super nice with Maxx Air Fans!!!Also the new air also has heater too...Yeah i guess Rv living isn't that bad...

Interesting tidbit about Indianapolis: Outside of Washington DC, Indy has the most war memorials of any other city in the US.

So happy you guys enjoyed the trails here in Indiana! Seems like the last 10 years they have really invested in them and there are some gorgeous ones out there. Whenever you are more north in Indiana you need to stop in Winona Lake! We have a gorgeous little town with plenty of hiking and biking trails as well as a little shopping village I think Trish would enjoy!
On my second year living in a RV in Montana and i have updated and replaced about everything even down to replacing the air conditioner....I have also replaced all bulbs went to LED Also all hood vents and the fans that go in them.....Updated made all them super nice with Maxx Air Fans!!!Also the new air also has heater too...Yeah i guess Rv living isn't that bad...
