    Nikola Jokic stands alone as the NBA’s most innovative and uniquely skilled centre. Centres are traditionally the big guys, the defensive bodies, and the guards are the creative, nimble ones.
    So how is Denver Nuggets’ Jokic such an effective 7ft Point Guard?

    tbf I would like to see tifo cover more euro league stuff as well and how players like Luka, Jokic and Giannis got their skillsets from there and where the differences between that and the NBA benefits these players.
    I think that could at least help tifo make itself different from other basketball you tubers and lean into their european audience more

    I hope this becomes a series which explains the game of different players. A video on Luka Doncic would be appreciated. He's getting a lot of media attention now so that video will probably get more views. Also, most viewers here presumably come from Tifo's football channels so Luka's connection with Real Madrid should also result in more views.
    A video explaining the differences between European Basketball & NBA should be fun as well.

    • @rebellion-starwars
      @rebellion-starwars ปีที่แล้ว

      Euroleague is coaches league while the NBA is a players league. That's the essence but there's more layer's into that, for example how players are being teached, in the NBA there's a split between bigs and guards, but in Europe that split doesn't exist everyone is learning the same game, later on when players reach senior team (in the Europe that can be when you are 15,16 it doesn't matter and they play against the grown man before they get into the NBA and then you have drills to suit your position but no before that), in the US players in the HS are usually way more taller and stronger than anyone else so they used to dominate the game and every ball is coming to your way but they are missing team basketball but in the Europe team basketball is learned from the get go, first drills with the ball after the warmup is actually passing the ball, it's called fireball - you're imagining the ball is fire and you have to get rid of the ball as soon as you get it.
      And fundamentals is something that is very important, from the "before you make the move fist tap the ball" to the pivot foot and that's something that you learn right away from the first steps of your "career" and ofc the proper technique of shooting the ball with the arc and ball above the head and lining up the shooting arm, precision will come later in the first years you simply don't work on the precision it's more important to do everything correctly from catching to lifting to release and follow up + get back to the defense if you are the shooter, you don't wait for the ball or to move towards the rim, depending on your own skill but you teach to move right after the release.
      That's the difference and I would like to see the someone dive in to that. In that way I believe the changes in the coaching will came sonner than later. The European coaches already picked up the best part of the US coaching and that's why the players are NBA ready now when they enter the league it's just matter of conditioning and having correct nutrition while in the NBA every single player have their own program that's made for them and that's the difference today.

      @@ckq the guy in the video says yo-kitch though. 0:37. with a short o, most similar to how it's pronounced in serbian. unlike the long oh americans pronounce it with. he even says nikola decently, not nicohhla like how americans do. (except he says /nikəla/ instead of /nikola/). the only nitpicky thing would be that the tch in jokić needs to be softer but i've never heard a foreigner hit it right so whatever.
      anyway, the guy in the video says the name the most close to the original native pronunciation that i've heard anyone related to the nba or fans ever say it. it's not that deep, i just appreciate it.

The best example of "statistics are not relevant but wins" is when Joker beat Embiid in H2H game than they said yeah Joker got the win but Embiid had better stats. In that case stats are more important than wins 😂
