Art tip from an art major? Do it now, trust me. Your art will look ugly again and again until one day it won’t. I know it can feel embarrassing and demoralizing to put effort into something that turns out wonky, but one day it seriously just clicks, even if you don’t understand what you did different. And that won’t happen unless you practice
@@m.r.9215 I do practice, just mostly spheres and heads and basic shapes and stuff Idk whenever I try to do something more finished it always looks wonky and I have trouble finding reference images Guess I’ll just keep at it right? Idk even then I’d like to draw figures before animals
There are a few cool things i learned with this doing peter hans course is that what you do is look for a landmark on the animal and then from there imagine the skeleton and that will help with your proportions
I just posted here to say that I don't need to watch this video, because back in art school, my professor gave us an assignment to fill a sketchbook with drawings of a particular animal. I don't remember how many sketches you had to have as a minimum, but I averaged about 4 per page, so around 400-500 sketches of Gorillas. I did them so many different ways. Skin on, skin off, muscle groups, skulls, heads, action, static. I can sketch a gorilla in my sleep. And that was the point of that lesson. If you want to be able to draw something well, look at it and draw it every which way you can think of.
dr. robert beverly hales anatomy lectures comes to mind and what he said about bone structure which i find very interesting when you see both structures together in comparison very good 👍
Time to try it yourself! Download the reference and get drawing - www.proko.com/s/teeZ
Bless your efforts, but I wish the drawing would be in pencil and regular paper if you can, I feel that the idea can reach deeper 🌸
Looks really cool, I’ll come back in a couple of years when I’m good enough to take the course lol
There's no time like the present..
You won't get better unless you try. Seriously, just dive right in, it's amazing how much you learn from doing that in these sorts of courses.
@@jbkhan1135 idk maybe
I’m trying to focus on figures rn would taking this course help?

Definitely feels better to work from the inside out, and I like the part about showing more of the skeleton giving the creature more narrative.

Are the ape Skeletons a download or an add on to the Skelly app? I'd love to purchase them for the app
The skeletons are downloadable at proko.com/716 as images, or premium students get the 3D turnaround that David is using in the video.
this is soo cool
