so im playing this solo for solo and ensemble this year as a freshman. This video helps so much because lots of the videos and songs on spotify are edited, like they make their own stuff up, thankfully this is not so i always come back to this video to help
I am playing the second movement for an audition for my coutny honor band and i have been listening to this video and it helped me prepare and get an idea for the style of the song soo nervous
Why is everybody hating on the dancer??? He is doing his best at what he loves to do, just the same as those musicians. He is very talented at his art, and deserves better than that. You try to be as good as he is-join a professional ballet-before you criticize. Well done, all three of you.
No one is "hating" on the dancer them self. We are talking about the dance. The dancer is talented, yes. This does not mean that the pairing of the dance with this particular piece of music was a good choice stylistically, quite the contrary actually. The dance is strange when paired with this piece. You wouldn't go out on a stage a perform a cyber-goth dance to a ballet. This is the same situation. The dance just doesn't work well with what is being played.
That's what I need when I practice.... a dancer to come out and do closed captioning... to interpret my playing. God knows I don't know what I'm doing have the time... maybe a dancer could explain it. The way I'm playing lately it should probably be an Oopah Loompah...
I would not recommend y'all use this as reference. Dude really messed up the third movement. Sixteenth notes and 32nd notes shouldn't sound the same. I got roasted by my lesson professor on this last week after listening to this recording
Ok everyone, QUIT freakin' out about the DANCER! I was playing in the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra in 1990, and wanted to include some dance. I commissioned a Professional Dancer from the Corps of the SF Ballet to choreograph and dance to this music. Harpsichord, cello, bass trombone, and dance. What about this do you NOT get? Would you rather every recital be just piano and trombone? REALLY? If he distracts you, close your eyes! Otherwise, try and imagine a world where you collaborate with other artists, to create something new. But if all you want to do is check this out because you're playing it on Baritone in 7th grade, or somehow can't wrap your mind around someone being CREATIVE, please refrain from watching! To those that have stepped up and supported the dance, thank you, bless you, and may you have every good thing! That is all, thus endith the lesson
So I’m following along with my music while listening then I glance over and see that guy spinning on the floor. Okay then.

I just found out I have to play the 2nd page. I have 5 days left till solo n onsomble. I’m fucked
real
I think it is funny that everyone (2/3 people who commented) had to insult the dancer even though he worked hard to put it togethor too.
meh music performances I never look at until now
whether or not he worked hard has nothing to do with the quality of the final product

I played suite for Baritone by Don Haddad last year and this is the solo my band director chose for me this year. Any advice?
Mickaela I love Don Haddad's suite for baritone it is such a well composed piece
Specialized Music Study I agree 100%

TheJoeyBurk19 now you done with high school 😂

would this be challenging for a sophomore?
Jonathan Cuenca we'll be fine m8. I'm playing this too 😂.
I mean... I’m a freshman and I’m playing it. At my school all four years are playing it.
also doing this piece at the same grade. Was originally going to do Morceau but this one is fun.
I’m also playing this
depends on the sophomore, but likely, yes
The dancing fool is an unfortunate distraction from a beautiful musical performance.
Close your eyes then...it matches your closed mind
I agree with Halfab the dancer in kinda weird just there lmao
who peed in your cheerios?
I thought the dancer was a nice touch

I like music, but not a dance.
I understand what they were trying to add more emotion to the piece, but I agree that just the instrumental is excellent.
very sorry, CLOSE YOUR EYES!
would be better without dancing.
oh really?
