Lionel Fumeaux is an actual legend. This man is who I aspire to be, but with a Tenor instead of a Bass.

Wouldn't that just be equal to saying "I wanna be Joe Alessi for bass trombone" I like this guy but I still think Joe is better. And he plays tenor lol

@@romansans1581 Yeah, us Bass Trombonists don't exactly have a Joe Alessi to look up to, despite the amazing ability of some Bass Trombonists such as Fumeaux.

breathing, long tones, listen to great players and attempt to emulate their sound. A lot of listening is very important. Also, try to get a good warm up routine, like the Alessi warm up and maintenance routine. You can find it for free online. Don't use the Scribd version.
Getting a tone like Lionel's takes discipline, time and consistency. Try practicing every single day. Don't go for 100 days in a row at once; rather, try going ten days practicing every day, then fifteen, then twenty, and soon enough you will have been practicing for a year. Cultivate your love for music by listening to different music as well, and try to surround yourself with other great musicians.

Doesn’t work as well on bass trombone as on euphonium, but this is very decent player. Hasn’t got the best sound though, but his technique is phenomenal.
