The song was For once in my life. Stevie Wonder. You guys did a great job. Very locked in with each other. Let each other have moments to shine. Beautiful.
one of my favorite things about these videos, is they probably skip a lot of these songs thinking "ive played that one so many times before", but when a new musician asks to do a duet, they bring back out the classics, and play/enjoy them on another level. love these spontaneous videos!
So much fun I had an impromptu jam with a couple in the airport on a layover in Dallas and it made my travel experience so much better… I played guitar and sang with them…. He played a cello and she played a viola and they both sang as well…. One of my best travel memories. I wish I could remember their names so I could shout them out Really wonderful and very talented people….
The ending of the video with the ladies and gentleman was so perfect. He brought everyone back into reality of the airport. On to the next video for me ofc but see you next time
I've never seen the foot stomp technique, that was so awesome. I trained as a classical pianist so that probably makes sense why haha. Josh was great tho, really talented, you guys made a fantastic duo... Tho it was too funny when that other guy joined in! These impromptu airport concerts have been fun.
Oh I thought he was just stomping on the floor. Check out Terry Miles, he does a lot of foot stomping on the floor as he plays public pianos in London, and indeed the rest of England. Also check out his buddy Dr K Boogie Woogie who plays in London too.
@@onthebeer77You can see him just stomping on the floor in parts and stomping floor and pedal in other parts. Stomping is ironically more often used with fiddle. Folk style violin. I've never tried it on the piano, but my foot often taps a beat when not using the pedal, so I don't think it would be too hard to incorporate. Definitely suits a rag time or boogie style, though.
I really love these "I asked to join" videos especially lately, so many great talents so many great songs. Also Josh definitley deserves lot of love. What I would love to see, tough it is a long shot, there's a german guy called Marti Fischer who e.g makes lot of songs in 5 different styles I bet your violin & overall music talent could make a great collab with him
Loved that. Especially Louis Armstrong ... that brought on chills. Re where to play ... in the UK we have public pianos in hundreds of places. A big ask but we'd love to have you here. But thank you for this video ... loved you both and know at some point in the future you will work together.
Wild how I can watch this in the morning and then have the sound of the violin stuck in my head in the evening.. it is much more pleasant than intrusive thoughts. Thank you, kind sir.
I was in Vancouver once, taking the Skytrain downtown, walking down the stairs into the station there was a busker playing a violin, gorgeous music coming from this guy. Then he starts playing music from The Godfather. It is amazing the change in mood music can evoke. All of a sudden I am waiting for a hit to go down, ending some mobsters life. So cool.
Would like to see Rob Landes playing movie theme or video game theme with an organist together with a real pipe organ. There's are some public pipe organ in the US. Here are the location: 1. Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City(World Largest Pipe Organ) 2. St. Macy Department Store, Philadelphia(World 2nd Largest Pipe Organ) 3. Organ Stop Pizza, Arizona 4. Hammond Castle Museum, Massachusetts 5. Balboa Park
@@Luigi-jy7wq Only is US. Especially in Balboa Park it put the organ at outdoor. If in UK one is at London Bridge Station, Whitgift Centre & Royal Albert Hall. Japan also have 3 shopping centre have a real pipe organ in it. One is at Matsuzakaya Hall, Mitsukoshi Hall & Sendai Arcade.
Was was born in Charlotte and lived there for 31 years before moving to S.C. I miss the old Charlotte, but not the crazy city it's become. Still, that airport is a nice one and this reminds me of home. Thank you Rob and I hope you do more like this. You looked super happy just jamming like that.
The Airport music is very nice. About 3 years ago, i got stuck at Detroit for about 7 hours, and was having a rough day. The man playing the piano there by the big fountain started playing Dave Brubeck. Changed my mood entirely. I dont think i ever learned the player's name, but he did great things that day. Ill never forget it.
@@RobLandes I'm conflicted. I'd ALMOST wish more layovers on you because of how awesome this is/was, but at the same time, no one likes layovers, so there's that.
Wow these were really good 🥰🥰 you should do a world tour you are really goood 🥰 plus you can play in the so many different airports when you land and before you leave each place just to see how different they respond in each situation do you get more of a crowd sticking around longer when you land or after all you shows in the community before you leave 🥰 would be interesting to find out and watch to see how many went to or are going to one of the shows 🥰(edited for spelling)
@@markmywordswithmarknelson9232 I would most likely miss my plane also. I don’t know how anyone could hear their music and not tap a toe or do some chair (or regular) dancing.
To answer your question at 3:54 , it is because Don Henley is clueless. I think it's safe to say no one under the age of 21 gives a single f$@# about the Eagles or even knows who Don Henley is. And he is ensuring that trend continues. He isn't Beethoven. And he won't be remembered, precisely due to his own behavior.
To answer your question, I’m pretty sure the Eagles want to fade into obscurity. My son and I are watching your videos, he asked me who the eagles are while he is very familiar with other rock bands from their era. I was a bit taken aback tbh, but I guess if no one can cover your music and your not actively looking for 70’s rock through a paid service than their destine to slowly disappear.
He's performed with Tommy? Awesome! The Eagles are total dicks about it, one in particular. Their songs get flagged everywhere. Dude can hit it! I don't know what the song was, but I liked it. The addition on the top of the piano worked very, VERY well in a few places. The joiner improvised some pretty cool riffs. Wonderful world is a favorite. ;-) That song always makes me smile. Satchmo's presentation of it, on that video, is so much fun. One of those totally unique, ultra recognizable voices. Glad you had fun...I did also, listening to it.
Acoustics in an airport are sort of difficult to work with... but with the foot stomp, my son with absolute pitch, a violinist was playing in his Suzuki concert around age 3 or 4 and mother (me) was sitting in front row of audience tapping my foot as I'd done when we played together (Suzuki emphasizes lots of impromptu exercises and parents learning with chold) and during intermission came over and whispered that I needed to stop tapping my foot as I wasn't going to be able to sit in the front row when he played concerts.

Music connecting people
