personally, i think slate look to warm and grey to be considered, at least for me. i usually go with darker colors, and i would go for the jet black but thats a aluminum which means ion-x glass, hence, scratching on the screen. i will be going with the gold titanium this time around, Milanese loop to match cause i like when things match. you do you though! be happy with your choice and don’t let other people tell you what to think of what you spend your heard earned money on :)
I have gone through plenty of unboxing videos this days …… I think 🤔 your the first reputed TH-cam channel to choose slate / variant ✨ ……Thanks for going to slate than Natural titanium silver variant !
The Slate Titanium 42mm arrives tomorrow for me. I’m upgrading from a 40 mm titanium Apple Watch 5. I wanted to upgrade last year, but they didn’t have titanium and so I waited. I’m so glad that titanium was offered this year; that was the deciding factor for me. So going from a 5 to 10 will be quite an upgrade I assume. I’ve really enjoyed my watch; it has held up beautifully. With daily wear absolutely no scratches on the face with the sapphire crystal. And barely any marks on the titanium case. I ordered slate because I’ve enjoyed having the black color and own a lot of bands. I was really tempted with the gold though, because somebody said it looked more rose gold. And I love myself some rose gold for sure. But some of my bands probably wouldn’t look very good with the gold; however, black goes with everything. I appreciate your video this evening, thank you for posting it.
great video, thanks for showing the different bands... the jet black is a great choice for aluminum but I'm going titanium natural to get the sapphire durability and the ability to dress it up a bit
I bought the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black and I am returning it tomorrow for the Apple Watch 10 and titanium primary. I don’t like to feel of that raised lip over the screen. It feels kind of sharp. Also to me the series 10 and titanium just seems more classic. And the other point I was gonna make is that Series 10 and titanium is definitely more durable than the aluminum hence the cost difference. When you’re paying $200 more than the aluminum watch you’re gonna get more you’re gonna get sapphire glass, which is stronger scratch resistant and then you’re gonna get that titanium finish which is much more But you get what you can afford. I have the money invested already in this ultra two black so I am the third day in using it so I can go back and easily exchange for the series 10 and titanium looking forward to it. I think it’s just more sleeper and just feels more comfortable on the wrist. I don’t use all the features of the ultra has to offer I don’t dive deep. I don’t rock climb. I don’t do all those kinds of outdoor activity things so I think the titanium and the tin the series 10 will be perfectly fine And I think I’ll go with a natural titanium because just I don’t know like it anyway just my thoughts
You should have gone out in the sun for the comparison and not under ligh. Graphite under the sun looks black and under regular light and depends on what kind of ligh it looks gray and sometimes takes a silver hue to it
Thank you for reviewing the slate one, all the other videos are only of the natural titanium. I was really curious about the color difference between this one and the jet black. Think I like better jet black. How well you think it will last? Since the iPhone 7 was a mess without a case
thanks for your sharing, i’ve purchased the lte jet black version as well. but one thing i would like to know is that if u use a screen protector for the apple watch you wear for most of the time? being new to apple watches, im really not sure about how durable the ion x glass is
I'm not in the Apple echosphere BUT while at my local mall this past week I dipped into the Apple store which I haven't done in years. I wanted to get a view of the new Apple watches. I was not a fan of the Apple watch Ultra previously but the black looks great and just has a more premium look.. The standard apple watch aluminums were the same old same old I don't care how big they say the screen is They look the same as they have always looked and up into this point since they're calling it redesign will look this way for the next 5 years. The titanium Apple watches were absolutely gorgeous!! At first I thought the titanium was the jet black and thought wow that looks way better than the aluminum but then I realized that the aluminum jet black next to the titanium looked like plastic. I did not see the plain jet black looking premium at all In fact I think it looks cheaper than the standard aluminum colors but that titanium was gorgeous and with a nice melanese band, which I'm also not a fan of I will say it looked stunning!!!!!
Looking forward to see you try on the Titanium Milanese on the Series 10 -- I have one on the way and while Apple technically lists it as being compatible with the regular watch I'm still concerned about how it actually tis
When you receive the titanium Milanese strap, please update how it looks with the S10 jet black apple watch. I am also curious about such a set and whether the strap will scratch the watch easily.
From previous products that have had DLC coating and PVD. I'm pretty sure I read that DLC is the more tougher with regards to getting scratched off. So if that is correct, the DLC on the Ultra 2 in black, should be tougher and less likely to come off, than the Series 10 titanium DLC coating.
slight correction: the natural titanium does not use the pvd coating. the natural titanium is raw material, which is why it scratches more than the gold or slate finish.
If it helps, for me it wasn't. I chose the aluminium jet black because cellular is only useful if you go places without your phone AND you have another plan open with your phone provider for the cellular to work. The Sapphire crystal will help when it comes to minimising the chance of scratches, but it's still more than possible so I'd say you could just put a screen protector on the aluminium's glass. The only guaranteed value will be the titanium case. So because of that it wasn't worth the additional £300.00 difference when that could be put toward a new phone or the new AirPods.
It's the same sapphire display the Ultra 2 uses. I've taken my Ultra 2 sub 100ft on shipwreck dives. Navigating janky shipwreck geometry (one of which was upside down) and bonking it on old metal. The titanium has some scuffs on the casing. Not actual deep scratches, but just scuffs that are barely visible under direct sunlight. The screen looks the same as the day I bought it. It's absolutely nuts. Do not put a screen protector on the sapphire. Complete waste of money and it interferes with the tactility of the watch. You will be fine.
