Scotty in one of your video you show little device with eco , normal turbo etc buttons you connect behind pedal. That allow you to start driving slowly on eco mode, can't find that video or name of that device.
The $150 ObdLink MX+ does more and better IMO. You can't program the vin number on an HCU with that scan tool, but you can with an OBDlink MX+ and a bluetooth enabled notebook. I can also load ford as built data on any vehicle, can your $210 scan tool do that?
@@stevenhaffley9852 i dont know if it does more … he didnt really goninto detail with the functions….. @@vincentbeaulieu5300 I have a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid, they flash the VIN onto the HCU/abs module. Mine failed, costs $5000 to have it replaced at ford, took it to my local garage, their $2000 scantool they just bought would not write the VIN on the HCU but that Obdlink MX+ does do it, it's an incredible device!

OG OG SCOTTY YA HEARD! He figured out the winning formula a long time ago. Honest, simple, and informative videos with the consumers best interest priority number 1. Keep at it Scotty! Love your videos been watching for a few years 🙂.
I have had the same flooring tiles in my garage for 12 years. Phenomenal product but be aware of expansion and contracting as it will expand as much as 1/4 inch. Especially in hot climate such as here in Arizona.
Arizona, very little problem with moisture build up most likely. Where I live, we get alot of precipitation. That floor looks great...but how does moisture under the floor get out? Seems like there would be mold. I have a floor drain, wash my floor with hot water from a garden hose.
an OBD reader just saved me from being scammed by a small dealer. not only was there a terrible squeak from the wheel and what sounded like parts rubbing together, but the engine seemed to be failing when i ran diagnostics. he chalked it up to “it’s a used car” but my used car and another car on his lot did not show “Warning” when i tested the engine lol. he was pissed that i was using a scan tool. big save 👍🏾
I found out that I agree with almost everything you talk about. I'm 72, I don't trust mechanics, but you're the exception. You & I basically think very similar about trouble shooting and reliable vehicles. My Dad taught me tune my engines by ear. I still listen, but these new scan tools like the A30 are really fantastic. I'm a Nerd, I don't mind changes in the way I do things. I very much appreciate your talent and dedication to help the home mechanics like me. Keep up the good work Scotty.
Thank you very much for your work Scotty. I really appreciate your effort helping us deal with so many issues from the swine running the auto industry and the accessory, chemical industries trying to rip us off. Your product evaluations are invaluable to me. I am ordering 2 of the "jump boxes" as soon as I hit send. Thank you Scotty.
Great info as always Scotty. Only thing I'd caution folks to avoid buying something like that charger/tire filler with a big lithium ion battery if it's made in China. There are serious problems with battery fires in buildings and garages caused by crappy lithium ion batteries. Just something to keep in mind.
Be careful what you buy off eBay. I have a Launch CP129E which when it did an update it wiped out the internal serial number and now it's worth less. Seems it's not supported in the U.S. so Launch U.S. will not support it and the Chinese manufacturer just gives you the run-a-round.
I wanted to mention that Ryobi makes an air tool and it looks like a drill, they also make a decent battery-powered 10-inch waxer. They do make a another air tool that looks different and they have a collapsible nice led light to use on your vehicle. Just throwing ideas to try to help someone out. Btw Scotty I like what you did with your garage floor it looks very nice on camera. Thank you for all of the ideas. I'm looking forward to purchasing the250.00 vehicle scan tool.
For those of us who know next to nothing about mechanics, and just watch to see a relentlessly hypnotic personality at play, the best things about your videos are the horse-laugh pictures, and the other occasional "Quality" ones, ahem !: (including that one of the elephant on the motorbike).
For Ryobi 18V owners, I have to say, their little tire inflator is cool... They cost like $25 without a battery, can be kept in a small shoe box and pumps a pound a minute, so when you get a couple pounds low, pull it out and pump them up when you have a couple minutes, no matter where you are... Like Scotty says "Keep your tires properly inflated"
I bought a Blue Driver plug in last fall and saved the $100 cost on the 1st repair. It's worth the price even if you don't do your own repairs. Keeps crooked mechanics from selling you repairs and parts ypu don't need.
I got in my car regular metal air pump that works from the cigarette lighter, and a cheap lithium battary to jump start. Bought few months ago some Chinese adapter from the battery plug to cigarette lighter, and now I don't have to run my car to pump the tires. I use both on regular basis, as community service- helping strangers that have problems with their cars.
Good luck finding one. I never sold any of mine so am still driving them....but carburetors are a pain. You can clean them however and rebuild parts are still available.
Hart makes a good quality "drill shaped" pump like that. I use it for my 26" x 4" fat tire ebike and all the other regular bikes with no issues. I even carry it in my backpack when I ride long distance on my ebike. I used it to pump up dozens of balloons non stop for a baby shower one time with no issues. I've had it for a couple years now and it's running fine. I own many Hart tools, chargers and batteries. Walmart carries a lot of their tools. They work really well. None of the Hart tools I own ever broke.
I have a Ryobi Tire inflator from home depot. They are inexpensive enough to be able to put one in each of your vehicles. Battery is 18 volt and works in all 18 volt Ryobi tools. Perfect!
2000 Vibe GT got about 215,000 miles on her. Runs about a quart of oil every 350-400 miles. I clean out the catalytic converter every several months and she runs strong
Bike pump works good for a car tire. Use that because i had bad luck with electric pumps. Alot of bikes actually require higher PSI than a car tire. So the bike pump is a little over-qualified for a car tire. They often even have a guage on it too.
Thank You Mister Kilmer for a cool video 🌞 ! Your review of the e-scooter towards the end was interesting. I will look into getting one! Should've just boat insulation boards for the walls and ceiling...many look very good and they are much less expensive..and faster to install...and better insulation and sound absorption
Maybe it's the hard floor, but I still hear some "sound bounce". A long way from acoustically dead. I saw a vid on doing Epoxy on the floor and it is a very fussy process to get best results. We had just bought the one part garage floor paint at Home Depot. I prefer a lighter color on my floor as it helps with light reflection and to find small objects like screws and such that make their way down there.
Just got an used mini electric scooter last month for 400$. It's great for short trips in the city. It saves me a lot of gas, as the gas price it's huge in Europe.
I was looking for a new motorcycle last year. I tested out several bikes at different places, many of them electric. I would have had to charge it twice before I got home. Ended up getting an Indian Chief. I do alot of highway driving for work so a big V-twin works better for me than any electric.
A really cool thing you can make is to get a raspberry pi with a touchscreen and 3D print an enclosure that will fit your cars double din spot and I'm pretty sure they make all kinds of car related software you can flash on it. Or you can make a digital dash and use an OBD2 reader like the obdlink mx+ and get all kinds of useful data.
You can use the blue insulating boards that goes behind vinyl siding as acoustics and it works as a sound proofing. On a side note... I highly doubt Scotty drives like a " maniac" on anything!

Scotty, fantastic job on your garage! There's alot of moisture in cement & sea air, what about mold getting between the cement floor & the new floor?😲😲😲

Should've just boat insulation boards for the walls and ceiling...many look very good and they are much less expensive..and faster to install...and better insulation and sound absorption

Keep em coming Scottyyyy boyyy!!!
great tests as always
can you please try out that cheaper scan tool? was thinking of grabbing one for my new car
Good information 👍
You should try the EMMO zone GTS it’s nice it goes good has a radio and cruise
These reviews are great.

How does that scan tool compare to the BlueDriver?
LoL. Another banger from Scotty. I swear he's one of the only TH-cam channels with like 100% positive comments
Scotty Scotty all the different colors they have & this is what you come up with
Scotty, how’s that flooring going to hold up with oil, antifreeze, etc?
Or Brake Cleaner!
What about moisture under the tiles? They look great however.
Hey Scotty. Can the little scan tool clear the systems like the big one? I know some of the cheap readers don't clear everything.
Does that flooring allow a creeper to move around freely??? Please advise!!
Those interlocking nylon plastic floor tiles for the garage could go clear out into the driveway couldn’t they?
Is there an OBD Bluetooth scan tool for diesel trucks you would recommend?

@@northdakotaham1752 Well ots less about clean and more about tidy.
@@Sython6 I suppose. It's nice having a clean, organized work space. Increases efficiency.
