  • @NessaGorneth

Since the One Ring was the evil itself, part of Sauron basically, that made the wielder of it covet it more than anything in the world and caused them to guard it compulsively from other people who could've otherwise "stolen" it, I don't think this instantly at work obsession initiated by the evil of the Ring would've allowed Bilbo to come out with the information regarding his possession of it in unconscious terror of losing the "precious treasure"...unless the Ring itself wanted so, as Gandalf mentions and as is seen when It practically kills Isildur and leaves Gollum to get into the path of Bilbo, having a will of Its own. I think something like this explains why Bilbo couldn't tell Gandalf about having the Ring even he tried, the evil of it instantly starting to work on even to him deep within, and why the wizard just had to bring it up himself later on. The Ring knew when to protect itself, and manipulated the barer accordingly, in this case to be kept secret and in doing so to be carried by the poor, mesmerized Hobbit closer to the enemy that could've returned It back to its master, since It _wants_ to return to its creator, but as it happened waited until it was passed onto Frodo once it couldn't corrupt Bilbo like its other owners before, and so on...Same with Isildur, he was so enticed by the evil in the Ring (which supposedly is even more effective on weaker willed humans more prone to temptation as for example elves) that he couldn't destroy It, for the same reason Bilbo couldn't reveal to anyone that he had It...The Ring didn't let him, like you also mentioned, seducing Isildur in keeping it instead of casting it into the lava. _"The hearts of men are easily corrupted"_ , and even Frodo almost failed severing the hold the Ring had gotten over him. They just couldn't resist the evil that was Sauron's power in the Ring.
So, with this and such interpretation I personally choose to believe in in mind, I think the Hobbit and LOTR bits are just nitpicking....but that's just me. I can be wrong with my belief, and it is me who as a massive fan is nitpicking.
Agreeing with some of these though.

Except in the book he does tell the dwarves... And nothing bad happens of telling this. Hobbits can resist the ring far better than men can, and dwarves too especially if they don't consider it theirs (dwarves have a really strong sense of ownership, something that's theirs is and will be forever but if it originally wasn't, it wasn't)

  • @avivablumenthal5228

Actually, it's arguable that the real dumb decisions in Sleeping Beauty were 1)not inviting Maleficent to Aurora's christening and 2) when she came uninvited, telling her 'you weren't wanted'. If they hadn't done those two things, all the unpleasantness of the curse could have been avoided. Of course, then the movie would have been pretty short, because there'd be no plot.

Don't forget it was a time in an Era before there have been countless other Stories including what you see in 📽️s
like Sleeping Bounty 🔙 then, Heroes were just your written 📴 standard stalemates while the Villains on the other ✋, either the Misunderstood to Tragic ones or
Up point Justifiable, and sometimes you hate to love, love to hate, are usually as always stuck into being the Punching Bags by the finish line, even now years later in this decade and new generation.
Fairy Tales no matter what different type you prefer the Much more Darker ones or the Kid Friendly Safer versions they're based on, The Brothers Grimm is an example with stories like The Three Little Pigs or Little Red Riding Hood, 🐺s in Reality despite being Canines that are the most very Beautiful Sophisticated Animals on 🌎 a general ⚖️ in their own Nature, have been portrayed as Villains in Fiction, Tropes such as Selfish Cannibalistic Beasts & Deceptive Conning Tricksters but never always the Protagonists or one of the main Heroes.
Something that to me is seriously not have aged well from those years or today in this generation now that I'm older and bit wiser, especially with that tired old saying that Sheep in Wolves Clothing or that one quote that condemns them that
I won't mentioned here at this time.
And how about on that 🎚️ one where 😈s in stories like unlike Paradise Lost/Regained
such as in Cartoons, the Old Times Ones where based on the Mythologies and Legends especially the Big L himself or others before/after not one the many, but the Fallen Angel himself,
are stereotypically pictures as 🟥📯headed Imps with Pitchforks that tortures you for eternity all that BS lies they feed you or swindle you in for their own purposes including in the classic old cliches called The Faustian Deal or Devils Bargain, even in the Media or portrayal forms in 🖌️🎨 & 🎭.
Another thing I've mentioned earlier about 🐺s, always written 📴 painted as Villains, but not 1️⃣ not even sometimes 🔂 on a the Rarest occasions both sides that could 💔 that Same old tired Trope 🔁 the Past so many times enough, though there have been few occasions that broken have been an exception that changed people's minds now.

    • @gavincarothers595
      @gavincarothers595 ปีที่แล้ว

Plus, I actually don't mind liking Scarlett Johansson's performance Maleficent better than the Classic Disney one better, where her Motive even if it is a Revamp of the Character, have been more in growing💗, depth🎚️, and development 👨‍💻 as a
Deuteragonist, (Mix between walking the line of an Anti-Hero & Anti-Villain.)
it did had a better exposition knowing now why she wasn't Invited to
Sleeping Beauty's Birthday+Christening being chasisted vilified by many in their 👀s,
even by Humanity's 💼 of all Races/Species in that Plot 👉.

Reading from the Book of the Dead in The Mummy. Seriously it's called the BOOK OF THE DEAD

    • @Stardweller1
      @Stardweller1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah, but here's the thing: the Book of the Dead actually exists in real life, and its purpose was never to summon an undead mummy. They probably thought they had the REAL Book of the Dead.

Basically it's a collection of prayers, spells, and funerary rituals intended to be used for the worship of the underworld gods Isis and Osiris and for blessing the souls of the dead that they may have a safe passage to the afterlife.

Pirates of the Caribbean: How could they know the curse was real? No pirate would leave a chest of gold just because someone SAYS there‘s evil magic on it.
The Lord of the Rings, both occurrences: Those are not character decisions, but the Ring’s mind control abilities.

I have a couple more to bring up. One involves Taran giving up his sword in exchange for the cauldron in "The Black Cauldron". He could have kept it so that he can stop the Horned King, or destroy the cauldron for that matter, but he didn't. He did learn that there is more to life than being a warrior. However, a friend of mine stated that giving up his sword could be like giving up his dream so like Taran said himself, without his sword, he's nothing. Just an assistant pig keeper.
Another one they should add to this list has to be one from "Frozen" which had to do with Elsa not telling Anna the truth about her powers. Even after the trolls altered her memories, that is. If she had told her sister all about her powers, all of Arendelle could have avoided the everlasting winter it was in. Like Anna said, she's such a stinker.
Speaking of the Trolls, Elsa would not have shut Anna out for years if the Trolls had told their parents much clearer advice so that Elsa can train her powers properly rather than hide them and fear them. Training her powers properly is equal to being able to control them while hiding them and fear them are equal to being unable to control them. Just so you know.

I had to look this up, and for anyone else wondering. According to IMDB: Contrary to popular belief, Ash does not say the words "Klaatu Barada Nikto" (a reputed homage to the film The Day The Earth Stood Still.) but a slight variant in which he pronounces the second word as "Verata." Apparently this is intentional as the wise man is also heard saying the words this way when instructing Ash on what to do to retrieve the necronomicon.

I find this channel's inability to understand basic human psychology i.e. Harry Potter, and have basic information on Tolkien's works in their original form to be stupid. Listen Isildur is corrupted by the Ring at it's greatest point of power, Mount Doom, no person could EVER willingly give it up. So claiming it is stupid is redundant. Also in HP people will deny and bold face lie to prevent something from being true. It is called fear. They didn't want HWCBN to be back because they are afraid of him.

Part of the Number 1 pick, "Not Believing Harry", was the fault of the Minister of Magic for bringing a Dementor to Hogwarts. Didn't come up in the movie adaptation of "Goblet of Fire" but is mentioned in the book. Cornelius Fudge made the foolish mistake of bringing a Dementor with him after it was revealed that Barty Crouch Jr. had escaped Azkaban. Barty Crouch Jr. was the only one who could have corroborated Harry's claim about Voldemort's return but was silenced by the Dementor's Kiss.

Margin notes on page 136 in The Jedi Path indicate that Mace Windu refused to teach anyone his lightsaber form. Vaapad (a variant of Form VII, Juyo, the Sith form) was a creation of Windu's for his own personal use. Obi-Wan noted that Qui-Gon wouldn't let him study it, to which Ahsoka responded with her own note saying nobody was allowed to study Vaapad. This implies that Windu was quite conceited to keep a form all to himself (self-absorption might also explain why Samuel L. Jackson demanded to have a unique saber color, as well). You can tell upon confronting Palpatine that Windu had partially given in to the Dark Side by his angry scolding of Anakin as to why Palpatine must die.

I never understood why the Order of the Phoenix would keep Harry in the dark.
He has seen worse shit, so it was not like he couldn't handle the information.
He was one of Voldemort's greatest opponent, so he was trustworthy.
And while he was jumpy sometimes, he was reasonable enough, not to go after the prophecy, had they told him about it.
I mean, if they simply told him: "Hey, you know. There is this information deep down in the Ministry. Voldemort wants it to figure out how to destroy you. But only he and you can touch it, and he is obviously not going down there. But he might try to manipulate you to go there. So, whatever you think you see. DON'T GO THERE!" "Stardust" (2007)....in order to escape the clutches of the murderous witch Lamia, the hero Tristan lights a Babylon candle, which has the power to transport you to any place you think of, and tells his companion Yvaine (a fallen star in human female form) to "think of home"....unfortunately, he thinks of his village in England, while she thinks of being back among the stars. As a result, they end up in a point halfway between the two, among the clouds during a thunderstorm. She even yells at him for not thinking the action through.

As for LOTR, these two ''decisions'' are influenced by the One ring, so that is not really fair. I would argue that the worst decision is when the fellowship choose the path of Moria. Gandalf knew deep down that something terrible had happened there, but his inability to convince the fellowship to choose any other path led directly to his death.

Most of these stories wouldn't have even happened were it not for these mistakes. As for the Ring, part of its power lies in its ability to influence the bearers mind, twisting it towards duplicity and evil. This starts to work from the moment someone even lays eyes on the Ring, so that a normally honest hobbit would become uncharacteristically deceitful or a brave and honourable human would turn greedy and power-hungry. In fact, the Orc that shot Isildur in the back was inadvertently doing his enemies a great favour, because had Isildur lived he would have become a savage tyrant...such is the nature of evil!
