    The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is a sleeker and more stylish version of the popular Cayenne mid-size luxury SUV. The Porsche Cayenne is a 5-passenger utility and this Cayenne Coupe also has the same functionality but with a sleeker design. The roof of the Cayenne Coupe luxury crossover is 20mm lower than the regular model, the rear fenders have been flared by 18mm and the front and rear windshields are also at a sportier angle. The overall outcome is a swept, sportier and more muscular version of the Cayenne. The new Porsche Cayenne Coupe has some differences from the regular model. There is no rear windshield wiper, there is also a full fixed, glass roof or optional carbon fibre roof and standard 20-inch wheels. The Cayenne Coupe is sold with the same engine options as the regular model from a base Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, E-Hybrid and Turbo S E Hybrid. The model seen here is the Cayenne S Coupe with a wonderful 2.9L twin-turbo V6 engine with 434hp. The second row of sats have been lowered by 30mm to provide similar headroom to the base Cayenne, however the cargo area is compromised due to the steeply raked rear window.

    It really does stand alone/out as a unique SUV. And in a world blanketed with generic looks products, this one still looks distinctly, ‘Porsche’. I can’t really say that I loved it when it first arrived on Canadian shores. But now I do. I think of it as a stray cat (spca/kids/free kittens etc.) that landed on your front door; you have mixed feelings originally, but 3 years later you can’t imagine living without it. Great review guys. Happy Halloween!

    Good point on separating a regular SUV persona from a tricked out one to become sporty. When it comes to it's wide ranging price point, I'd shave off a multitude of features and keep it pretty basic and get a separate sports car for high performance. And please, hold the $1300 shifter! It felt weird watching Zach drive a Porsche and not proclaim 'I love you!' into the dashboard.😅 Good job guys, loving the content!

    Hey guys, funny because in Europe, Diesel is now a no-go. Of course taxes are still higher on petrol cars but the trend is towards hybrid. All your thoughts on Diesel would be here seen as provocative. Also, for us, the size of a Cayenne is.... gigantic !I love your videos. Cheers from Paris.

  • @jetng84
    @jetng84 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review guys! Can you tell us if you have found driving a diesel a little more hassle than driving a petrol version? Only after I bought mine did I discover that I need to warm the oil up to 90 degrees before I can drive it properly (takes about 15min) and that I need to wait a couple of mins after I park before cutting the engine to allow the oil to cool down in the turbo. I’ve also been told not to make short trips in it. Maybe I’ve been fed some misinformation? Might be worth making a video about it?

      Thanks Zack. I’ll stop babying the Macan now. I’ve never owned a diesel before, and my friend’s diesel Amarok (same engine?) always seems to always have issues w having to clean out the DPF, and I’ve also heard of problems w turbos that have not had time to cool down before people turn the car off. Porsche must’ve built something into their cars to counter these issues. Love your work. Keep it up guys!

    Greetings from southern California! Due to emission, we do not see a lot of diesel cars. Do Porsche diesel vehicles have less idiosyncrasy then their gasoline vehicles?

    • @andreaspencer9813

      You see a lot less diesels in the US because of the price of diesel fuel being higher than gasoline. In Canada, it is the opposite.

    All these coupe variants of SUVs look great, in my opinion. But they throw a lot of utility out the window. The lower ride height reduces clearance in the winter time. And you give up a lot of luggage space. We recently rented the Audi Q8 diesel version in Italy. Barely enough room for our gear in the luggage compartment. The Cayenne coupe, BMW X6, etc., are the same. You get better performance and just as much luggage space in a sedan.

    Just drove the new Cayenne GTS today and I have to say I prefer the 2.9 twin turbo! The V8 sounds great but truthfully you will need to wind the V8 up to really notice any difference. I couldn't really feel much difference other then the exhaust note with sport exhaust and V8 felt lazier to me by the way. Definitely get some nice upgrades with the GTS but performance wise not much if any discernible difference between S and GTS! All comes down to the dollar and how much your willing to spend for marginal performance difference!

    Having owned a diesel vehicle, I can say they are great to drive especially on the highway, but in Canada, I wouldn't buy one to save money on fuel. Diesel is significantly more expensive for most of the year. And in many cases, the real world fuel economy over gasoline variants is not enough to offset the cost. (Admittedly, it's difficult to make direct comparisons because the diesel will have all that torque too.) If one is buying a Porsche SUV though, fuel economy probably isn't the priority.

    • @robertduklus6555
      @robertduklus6555 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      this type of vehicles always call for premium fuel which will never be cheaper than diesel, not in Ontario at least.

    • @azaz911c
      @azaz911c 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertduklus6555 Good point. I did not think of the premium fuel requirement, which would at least close the diesel-to-gas cost differential. (I have never owned a vehicle that required premium gas, and would probably avoid buying one that does).

    • @andreaspencer9813

    • @Motormouth...
      @Motormouth...  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the 6 years of owning a diesel vehicle, only a handful of times the diesel fuel was more money than regular gasoline and never more than premium fuel, which is what the gas version requires. Plus, diesel gets about 25% better economy, so even at the exact same price as premium, which never happened, it is more efficient.

    • @azaz911c
      @azaz911c 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Motormouth... Zack, that is an interesting observation, and your experience is reflected by current regular/premium/diesel gas prices per liter in Vancouver and Calgary as follows:
      Vancouver: $1.05/$1.219/$1.06
      Calgary: $0.98/$1.18/$0.90
      This is contary to my experience when I had my TDI in Alberta several years ago. I would normally see the price of diesel surpass the price of gas at about Thanksgiving, and remain so until about Victoria Day. Sometimes the spread would be as high as $0.20/L. In Alberta, I believe there was significant diesel demand because of industry trucking and rail, and a lot of work is done in the winter before "break up". I wonder if industrial demand for diesel here has decreased because of the state of the economy, particularly the oil industry.

    2nd Issue = Distortion in music system.
    3rd Issue = A pretty major one with the steering failure.
    To my surprise, When I reported this issue, I was asked TWICE that was the car driven when it was raining or was there any water logging.
    IT IS in a SUV category, isn’t what SUV is supposed to be? I did not even challenged it in any terrain or water logging, it was a regular Delhi rain at Chattarpur Road outside Tivoli Gardens.
    Keeping in mind Indian roads and water loggings, this category car should be easily handling it.
    I drove just behind a Honda City, which drove quite effortlessly without any problem but to my surprise, my SUV developed a steering malfunction immediately.
    Definitely a DISASTER VEHICLE AND EVEN MORE DISASTEROUS service

    You know why the glass roof doesn't open? Coz you didn't sell your kidney to Porsche yet. (Well.............. "officially" they don't want to call it that)

    When is a 4 door a coupe, when it's but ugly. So why didn't Pontiac call the original 4 door coupe a coupe. Yes the Aztek started it all.
