@PainRack oh yes. I didn't think of it. In my mind I was thinking he got hit, but could deliver his last "You going down with me" trope. But yeah...he did cheat.
Tbf, Britta was also out, so the only target would've been Jeff who technically already was the winner because he was the last one remaining. @@MashBell
Using Garrett for the opening exposition was a stroke of genius. No one else could have delivered "We turned on each other like ANIMALS" the way it _needed_ to be delivered.
The first paintball ep was one of my favorites but the 2 parter in season 2 just blew my mind. I cannot describe how excited I was to go from cowboys to star wars.
The fact that the deans' elevator scene inspired one of the best scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain America in The Winter Soldier shows how pure genius this show really is. Even in the later seasons, this show was producing gems!
This episode was released one year after Winter Soldier and was directed by Rob Schrab. The scene is an homage to Winter Soldier since the Russo brothers worked on both Community and WS. Every Marvel film the Russo's worked on (except Infinity War) included a cameo from a Community cast member: Winter Soldier: Danny Pudi Civil War: Jim Rash Endgame: Yvette Nicole Brown and Ken Jeong
Plus I'm pretty sure the music in the background is the song Abed was humming during his spooky story in the Halloween episode where Britta is trying to figure out who's the psycho
@@tokyworld I'm pretty sure it was a Captain America Winter Soldier reference cause the Russo Bros directed the paintball episodes in S2 and a few other episodes over the years. Edit: Having said that after rewatching the Die Hard scene, it could be it too, or both.
i remember i was the only one watching it in my house in 2015. Whats even crazier is i was 12 and had basic tv so i had to stay up extra late to watch it 😂. Then it ended in 2016 and i vowed to never finish the series.
I often thought it was an inconsistency that Chang is so pathetic in the other Paintball Games when he was the hail mary assassin in the first one but he kinda sucked he just had a good gun and even cheated by using a paint bomb after getting out.
Fun fact: Chang's Paintball Gun is actually an HPA Airsoft Rifle (m4 replica specifically) and was tinkered to look like a paintball gun (not sure if it was tinkered to fire paintball instead of BBs tho, if so that would be cool)
“Damnit Shirley forget your new born child and think about the people that need you!” is still one of the best lines of dialogue in a show that teaches a masterclass in screenwriting lmfao
As someone that does paintball a lot and is a referee on a high level in the sport, I like these episodes. I understand why they don't use masks but seriously, safety first. Protect your eyes. It's nice to see some actual paintball markers in there. I'm actually curious what paintball brand they went through and what they did for getting hit. Doesn't look like they hurt as much and maybe they were special paintballs that broke easier than normal. Maybe they kept the paint chills since paintballs are more brittle in the cold? Plus whatever they shot them from must of been a different device because it didn't look high velocity until they were shot at objects. Maybe they did have a sense of safety on set. Just a lot of questions. Would really like to know.
POV: when the turf wars and splatfests you play suddenly spiral out of control... (I think anyone whose seen these episodes and has played Splatoon might have war time flashbacks from those particular episodes, cause man, the paintball assassin games of Greendale were insane!)
I love how the name of the clip is "Magnitude's Last Pop," b/c, for the rest of time, we'll never know what the last word(s) out of Magnitude's mouth might have been.
Having advanced one frame at a time, I can confirm that Jeff won the last paintball war. Jeff fired first, hitting Custodian LePerry. LePerry fired second, hitting the Dean, and the Dean fired quite late, hitting Jeff.
The only reason this works is because they all take it so seriously. You get paint on you, you are out...no cheating or anything...love it!
Except for Chang with his paintbal bomb
@@PainRack true, he switched the timer after being hit

Magnitude sacrificing himself for Greendale always makes me cry. POP WHAT? POP WHAT?
we still dont know what he wanted to say. POP REDRUM? POP ROSEBUD? i mean he is British this we know.
Always thought it should have been “Pop, pop, WHY???”
Using Garrett for the opening exposition was a stroke of genius. No one else could have delivered "We turned on each other like ANIMALS" the way it _needed_ to be delivered.
WAS? This is not over. This is happening RIGHT NOW
I can’t believe “I had a dream it would end this way” is an original line. It’s brilliant.
tearjerking moment
it’s literally beautiful
1:17 "Jeff Winger, you son of a bitch"
one of my favorite moments on this show
Some days I just want to greet everyone like that! 😁
I stupidly didn't realise that was a Predator reference. It works so well
"I thought you were dead, man!"
Omg I wasn't expecting that line, it was hilarious!!
Original accent: Deeluhn, you sahn of a beachhh
Changs Jon Woo style entrance will always be epic.
Going full Chang Yun-Fat.
The first paintball ep was one of my favorites but the 2 parter in season 2 just blew my mind. I cannot describe how excited I was to go from cowboys to star wars.
Comedy writing doesn't get any better than this. The most underrated sitcom ever, and i will die on this hill

lol the Community elevator scene was 2014, one year *after* The Winter Soldier. It was a reference, not inspiration.
@@AstroPsych_
It's because the Russo brothers directed both scenes. They got their start on Community before the went to Marvel.
@@AstroPsych_ both Winter Soldier and this episode is from 2014

I choose to believe that this is a fact.
All these episodes were EPIC! Abed and Annie’s kiss trumps the kisses she’s had with Jeff.
Annie's got chemistry with everybody
The Annie-Abed kiss is the best of the whole show
Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualize her
it’s the best one cinematically and emotionally, plus the fact that annie/abed’s age gap is normal versus annie/jeff even if they are both adults
Forget your newborn child and think about the people who need you!
I'm missing csi
Chang's evil villain laugh is awesome. "Denny's is for winners." - pretty sure that's never been said before.
The real heroes were the janitors.
oh, for sure. I couldn't imagine cleaning that stuff up.
no no no. YOU GUYS are the real heroes.
Dean Pelton in the elevator, brilliant choreography
Plus I'm pretty sure the music in the background is the song Abed was humming during his spooky story in the Halloween episode where Britta is trying to figure out who's the psycho
that was die hard 3 elevator scene homage?? lol they shouldve done the last headshot.

this show was so unhinged😭
I miss it so much!
It isn’t easy being Dean

In the best way possible ❤ n the fandom is so wholesome
Why is the world “unhinged” being used so much recently? It’s a trend ?
I love Community so much, I wish college was real…
Wait what
There are real colleges lol.
They made them into a real thing?

8:50 “seeing as i’m.. eating your beans.” is such a badass line. danny pudi you legend
The way Abed straight intimidates someone with the eagle eye is so dope. The single most badass moment in cinema.
The dean lift fight is my favourite.
I always find it funny in the elevator scene how the dean knocks the last guy's gun away all badass, only to right after starting panting like crazy
Ace of Hearts Annie is in a league of her own
Yep, she was the only red card. Lucky for Pierce.
4:40 never noticed here that Britta’s actually shielding Leonard from the blast instead of running for cover. Booyah good person
"FORGET ABOUT YOUR NEWBORN CHILD AND THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT NEED YOU!"
There has to be like an alumni paintball in the Community Movie
6:58 he just left her there. Behind those doors, there's a Britta covered from head to toe with green paint :D
I love the paintball episodes because they took characters we love and put them in an action scenario with believable stakes
Alison absolutely owned the hell out of the S2 paintball
"Paint....ball?" - Elroy Patashnik
I often thought it was an inconsistency that Chang is so pathetic in the other Paintball Games when he was the hail mary assassin in the first one but he kinda sucked he just had a good gun and even cheated by using a paint bomb after getting out.
He just managed to convince Dean to let him into the game, and you know how hard it is to convince Dean, being level 7 susceptible.
Technically, Jeff was the last to get hit during the last paintball war and, therefore, the winner.
The paintball episodes are my favorite Community episodes. They were so genius.
Community is the best freaking comedy series of all time. No exaggeration.
I just love the serious chaos. The mandate on chaos is something I commented twice in the past, and I knew ... I knew greatness
I wish I could have been a part of a Community paintball episode. These things are nuts
ALL THE PAINTBALL EPISODES IN ONE???? HELL YES
Fun fact: Chang's Paintball Gun is actually an HPA Airsoft Rifle (m4 replica specifically) and was tinkered to look like a paintball gun (not sure if it was tinkered to fire paintball instead of BBs tho, if so that would be cool)
This is without a doubt one of the best episodes of tv ever made
Which one
Community's paintball sequences are better than 90 per cent of movie action scenes.
The entrance of the City College clones?? That was epic too
Should've included the season 4 paintball just for the red dress Evil Annie 😍
“Damnit Shirley forget your new born child and think about the people that need you!” is still one of the best lines of dialogue in a show that teaches a masterclass in screenwriting lmfao
“Dennys is for winners.” That line has me dead.
no matter when you see it. Paintball is the best episodes in the history of TV.
I have never cared about this show, but I have never been more invested in series till right now.
chang’s paintball entrance 🤞🏽✅
4:59 Greatest Moment in Television History
This show is a gem.
These were the best episodes. Each moment is hilarious 😂
Can we appreciate the greatness that is Shirley...golf cart calvary & she makes it rain ❤😂🎉
3:40 oh the irony of making a pump action paintball gun fully automatic
I cannot wait for the movie to FINALLY be released.
This entire show was truly the peak of the 2010s comedy era. Nothing comes close.
The ultimate best episode of any sitcom ever! Brilliant! Thanks for sharing ;)
Paintball episodes were the best!
This show was brilliant!!!
that matrix reference at 0:46 so good, with the brass in the music too haha
8:08 I have never seen a louder silent “We’re all gonna die moment”
WE TURNED ON WACH OTHER LIKE ANIMALS!!!
Garret is hilarious in every scene he’s in
I started watching this show because of these clips of paintball. Hilarious work of art. 🤝
Love this show so much! DnD episodes are my favorites.
14:37 Underrated Jeff line 😅
The sound of the paintball minigun winding up at 15:45. 😂
Capdean America: Before we get started, does anyone want to let me out?
It's like John Wick, but everyone lives in the end.😁

Allison Brie is a goddess !!! She’s 42 now
But she played an 18 year old girl in that show lmao

Elevator scene in Winter Soldier inspired by community is my new favorite head canon
This is better than Halloween Heist!
This was the episode where I fell completely in love with Annie.
I fell for Annie's boobs, and I'm not talking about the monkey.
No pants needed
Impossible not to
She's so incredible in those episodes
where "we all" fell completely in love with Annie
I still can't believe I've never watched this show.

Can someone pl tell me what western is being referenced at 9:14? Particularly the whole thing of shouting/bargaining across the way from behind cover?
Show Annie running from the Black Rider in slo-mo, you cowards!
Abed han solo might be my favorite abed.
when the movie comes out they'll all be leonard's age.
And the Changlorious Bastards will be the study group’s age.

I would have loved to have seen Chang after the green paint explosion
Chang’s khaki suit and bomb scene is Gary Oldman in The professional
And The Predator too.
Alison Brie could lead the hell out of an action movie, ngl
Paint?

I love that daybreak is playing in the elevator scene. I should probably finish season 6 sometime
I forgot the actress who plays Emily Prentiss from Criminal Minds was in this show! I always had a thing for her. 😅
I thing he was trying to say “pop, pop”!
Annie was rocking that outfit a bit too well.
