Jeffrey really started off as a funny character but was very phony and I think they meant to make him attractive (in an unattainable, cool, arrogant guy way) but they really didn’t. They started fixing it very early on, though, so around Season 1 finale to mid season 2 they had figured it out and then he just got better (probably mainly because of guardians of the galaxy) 😄

Pierce is my favorite, not because he's a 'good person' or anything but I think he's a great villain when it's needed, I love his crankiness and every now and then something he says is really touching or helpful to people, and there's real gold with his scenes usually. The Dean is probably in my top 3.

Especially the blackmailing, reading his emails and buying an apartment right next to him. Even the touching is without consent and between a person in power and their student. But luckily it’s a show so the Dean is still the best character

Season 4 is definitely the weakest season of Community for sure, but I think it gets a lot of unfair hate. I recently rewatched the whole show (again) and there are a couple gems among those episodes. Dan Harmon should've never been fired from the show but it could've been A LOT worse.

I think the main issue is it’s missing some of the heart and the characters take steps backwards in development or are made less subtle. Like in season 2 when you get down to it Britta’s Halloween costume has a lot of weight to it because you realise she’d be scared of dinosaurs if you looked back and noticed the hidden references to her being molested as a child. Meanwhile in season 4 it’s less subtle and is just her in a meat costume because she’s vegetarian. Same could be said for the puppet episode as previous and future animation style episodes had depth, Abed’s uncontrollable Christmas was about his learning disability causing him issues as he comes to terms with his mother essentially abandoning him, Digital Estate Planning was about Pierce’s relationship with his father and how Pierce has become better as a person when he realises all the crap Gilbert has dealt with his entire life and .G.I.Jeff was about growing up and Jeff being scared of his future as the realisation of being stuck at Greendale forever sinks in. Intro To Felt Surrogacy was just “let’s make them puppets because it’s funny”
Jim Rash has such great comedic timing! When I first watched the show I died from laughter. I love the creepy, yet kind/caring vibe he had. Got me rolling still.

I honestly was rooting for them to get together. The Dean definitely deserved a little bit of happiness.
Why do people do this? The power dynamics are obviously what makes their relationship (or lack of it) so enjoyable. The Dean will forever be Jeff's #1 fan!
