Parks and rec is one of the few shows that the main characters don't get annoying and childish throughout the series run, it's the actual townspeople Leslie is trying to help.

They definitely made her character a lot more mature, biting, and REALISTICALLY stupid by the end, whereas she started out as a completely idiotic happy-go-lucky caricature/Michael Scott ripoff. Leslie by the end is much more sure of herself and arguably not as much of a people pleaser as Season 1 Leslie.
