I am upset with myself that as a kid I never had the imagination to use the binocular piece as a messed up double lightsaber like that lol.
it also works well with one saber blade and an Uruk hai sword. Or two knives in it makes almost a makeshift wolverine claw. Well maybe a predator claw
I never had any lightsaber hilts as a kid so binoculars had to suffice
they did that for ezra with the rebels sets
Cut the bino in half with an exacto and you can put it into the hilt for splitable double blades :)
@@elias_rammah I think that was to represent the ghetto saber he had in S1-2(it only had one blade), not two like we see here. But yes you are correct.
I was hoping it was small, like the one they just released a few months ago.
Is this real??
160£ UK is over $200 USD. Insane for only 1500 pieces in my opinion. These playscale falcons shouldnt be more than $150
Star Wars tax man! 😂
Hold tight, because inflation doesn't go backwards!
well 180 euro is 190 dollar, so we also pay more then US retail price, yet we here have VAT included, the Americans have no tax included as far as I know
@@OlafvanEss I mean we have sales tax unless you live in one of the few states that don't have it
@@OlafvanEss Americans also don't have universal healthcare or an education system...
Can't believe this is made...
i don’t know if i can spend that much on a hypothetical recolour maybe on a 30% sale
Wonder what the jar jar would look like with the longer legs and arms.
Thank you for that nightmare fuel. :D
That would look incredibly unsettling in the best way possible
Too tall, probably. He's not *that* tall in the movies.
It's been suggested that Darth Dev is Ezra Bridger. He went undercover as cadet Dev Morgan at the Imperial Academy.
$180 for a gimmick is a hard sell
But the Vader is a different color!
Especially if you own the original. I'm not sure kids would want this over that one either.
It's a cool set but I'm willing to wait because it's just a bit too steep at £160.
It’s still a much better deal than the Legend of Zelda set is
B-b-but… darth jarjar!
Redeemed Vader and Darth Jar-Jar are the most important (imo) and they put the least amount of effort into those figs (imo).
Nah totally agreed. R Vader could be great with some helmet coloring at least.
Yeah, cause they knew we’d buy them anyways. But it is pretty crazy that they put more effort into a C-3PO and a brand new character than they did on some of the most anticipated figures of all time.
They really should have given Vader blue eyes
At least the Vader has arm printings, but man is Jar Jar basic
I think this is a nice refresh from the endless Millennium Falcon rereleases. This is the first one I’ll be picking up in years. I never was able to get that Collector’s Edition one
I've never gotten one and I'm seriously considering this one.
Since 2011's Original Trilogy version we have had 2015's The Force Awakens, 2018's Solo and 2019's one and now this one. This easily stands out as one of the better ones apart from the price of course over the last decade of play scale Falcon sets.
Every of lego falcon is so expensive, i can't afford either one🫠
The Big Lukebowski minifig is so hilarious and I want one so bad lol
Thanks for the thoughts Jang. I see nothing but a cash grab/color swap with a couple prints, a throne, and some one-off figs. This would have been the best opportunity to offer a redesign Falcon. I can't justify the cost for the figs. I have sold or donated every play version of the Falcon. The set doesn't display well and is a dust magnet.
Easy to call it a cash grab when you’ve experienced multiple versions of it in the past. I won’t say lego isn’t overpriced but at least there’s some creativity and fan service here.
Any lego Star Wars millennium falcon is a guaranteed winner in terms of sales. Would you rather have something different like this or have them rehash the rise of skywalker falcon with original trilogy figs for the anniversary line? Because lego is certainly not below doing that.
Redesigning the whole falcon isn’t economical and makes it so it wouldn’t fit in contrast with the RoS model. It’s got a bunch of highly desirable figures and it gives a new version of the falcon for people who had one of the others. If you have the recent one and don’t wanna buy another, that’s valid, but the price increase from the old to the new isn’t that much considering how many new and highly desirable figures you get with it and the novelty of having an evil falcon in your lineup.
If it’s not worth it to you that’s valid but as lego goes at the moment to call it a blatant cash grab is somewhat dishonest. Any lego set can be considered a cash grab depending on your parameters. At least they’re doing something new and creative rather than just making endless clone sets to satisfy “investors”.
Lego Star Wars fans will complain about everything I swear.
They defiantly know what they're doing putting the good figures in a set like this😢
For the price I'd have preferred 3PO had the dual molded leg (even if they have to change up the print or make it gunmetal so it doesn't step on the toes of the UCS one). Love this though, most interesting thing LSW has done in years outside of some of the crazier collector sets.
Sigh. The same sets over and over and over. Just different colors and minifigs. The Star Wars well has dried up.
Darth Jar Jar is worth the entire set for me 😂😂😂
Hoping the rumored Jedi Bob's Starfighter has a nice color scheme. Cheaper and recolor is more justified since it's a Jedi starfighter
this just feels desperate, its weird wouldnt expect that from lego, i think its the darth jar jar that just feels like "HOW DO YOU DO FELLOW KIDS"
Would love if the cockpit was mirrored….might do that mod myself
I totally had the idea to mod it that way, too! It shouldn't be too hard, just mirror the instructions (though one might need to get opposing wedges if they're used in that part of the build).
this might be my first falcon set i’ve always wanted one but could never get one, i have my own money now looking pretty cool though
I dont like that Darth Vader helm.... they can print on black one, but cannot print on white one??
They've never printed on the black vader helmet
Too expensive for the piece count, and a black Millennium Falcon just doesn't feel right to me. But it looks cool.
$180 😭😭😭
I mean it’s cool but the “big” Star Wars set of each wave has jumped up another $10. Just you wait guys, in a year or two these kinds of sets will be $200.
$180??????
Hard…… PASS
Looks EPIC darth jar jar and gang look fun great preview jang 👍
"I'm a regular consumer like you"
And that's why we come here for reviews
Luke should have been a skin tone torso with the blue printed on.
Jar Jar looks fun.
I agree it should be darker. Black with dark red and some very limited dark grey.
I´m not a Star Wars fan, but the silly concepts like these are things that reminds me what can I do with Lego
first day buy for me.
Got it for $135 with Vip points I had saved up, and with the promo that I'll sell, it should bring it to about $100, which is a steal tbh.
It could look a bit better, but seeing the four top flaps open makes me wish my UCS Falcon would have a similar design...
My guess was light gray for the paint roller and flat silver for the ingots.
That paint roller looks to me like a recolor - either white or (fingers totally crossed here) Very Light Bluish Gray!
Definitely going on my most wanted list!
Meesa gonna hurt youssa bank account
I’ll probably switch out a lot of the grey pieces for black ones to make it look sleeker. But even with this sets flaws I still think it’s the coolest Millennium Falcon and probably one of the coolest Star Wars sets ever released. We’ll most likely never get something exactly like this again so it’ll definitely be worth picking up (it wouldn’t hurt to wait for it to go on sale though)
Cool set, but overpriced by about $20 imo. I do love the concept of the rebuild-the-galaxy line overall. I also disagree about light gray being bad; it adds more contrast, rather than just being a homogenous black and red slab. The only real bad thing about the set, aside from the pushy price point, are the circular stickers for the back vents. Stickers are already the worst parts of any lego build, but round stickers are truly awful to apply correctly. I like it a LOT more than the "real" falcon because of the colors: need more SW ships and vehicles that aren't just light and medium gray. Separatist ships would be a good starting point, featuring lots of blues and browns.
I would have thought the red would pop more.
It's overpriced. I would have expected a updated improved design, whereas it looks like the 75257 exactly just recolored and a minifigure change. I just got the 75257 on sale in May. I'd either wait for a big sale on it next year, or skip it and get the minjfigures alone.
01:11 as someone who has done pretty much the same with a MOC (I’ve built a Shadow Scout trooper version of the Scout Trooper helmet set) you need to add in some non black pieces just to break things up! So I get why they’ve done this, makes sense IMHO.
I have a mild complaint/observation about it. I am a fan of specialized printed components like the printed tie windows on the original Millennium Falcon... and the built up sides of this falcon look a bit too 'made it with basic parts on hand' I don't feel like I'm looking at a premium Lego production toy, but one that's built around what's already in the shop. I tend to level this complaint at Unitron (end of the line for classic Legoland Space released Under the Shadow of Aquazone's new Moulds)... but I think it fits this version of the Falcon. I assume this isn't signaling the end of Star Wars, but it does feel like they outside of the minifigures and the red window prints they have prioritized for new molds/prints elsewhere. I do like this Falcon... if I were to ever pick one up this might be the one.
I am so annoyed that they STILL use a cylinder for the Gungan boomba..... use either a trans blue minifig head or a Mysterio head but BALLS are not CYLINDRICAL. Goodness that irks me.
its really cool but im not sure if its 180$ cool. maybe if I see a nice sale
This would go great with the white Falcon
I never had a playscale falcon ever and with the amazing figures in this one I’m happy to get it 😎
I don’t own any Falcons so I’m going to get this. The Falcon isn’t my favorite ship by far, but I’ve never had one or wanted one until now
Ordered it. Glad i had for 70€ insider points
I like some of the figs but 180 usd, yeeeeesh
It’s all about the minifigs here
"You'll never see a _Star Wars_ line like _The LEGO Batman Movie,_ with so many original or remixed concepts, because _Star Wars_ fans would get mad if you gave it that treatment, that these [are] distractions from their favorite designs that already exist." - Nick [Anderson] on Planet Ripple, _The LEGO Rewind Batman Holiday Special_
I'm honestly glad that the _LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy_ line exists. I just feel like for far too long _LEGO Star Wars_ has neglected the LEGO aspect of the theme, and that it felt like it keeps pandering to Vocal Minority of Adult Fans who just want hyper-accurate, static display pieces. We need sets like these to encourage people that it's okay to provide your own spin on someone else's work, now matter how nonsensical it may be. And that's part of the fun to be had with LEGO toys.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller really tried to warn us through _The LEGO Movie,_ where the film's antagonist is an Adult Fan of LEGO who is so hellbent on making a static display piece, all in the pursuit of perfection.
Heck, all of this talk about a Captain Rex Minifigure that once showed up in a $650 set now showing up in a $13 set has made me realize how much I miss the Buildable Action Figure genre, whether it be _Bionicle,_ _Hero Factory,_ or even _Legends of Chima._
LEGO Sets are meant to be building toys. The Minifigure is meant to be a simple design with a shared head, torso, and leg mold so they are easy to produce, and allow the focus to be more on the build. It's why the whole blind-package approach to the _Collectible Minifigure Series_ even exists; it helps offset the cost of producing these Minifigures that come with no builds, and prevent people from hoarding or shelf-warming specific Minifigures.
Part of the reason why LEGO _VIDIYO_ and McFarlane Toys' _Five Nights at Freddy's_ Construction Sets had failed; there was a lack of emphasis on building. LEGO _VIDIYO_ only had five substantial building sets, the line was too focused on leading with the Minifigures for the digital play gimmick. Meanwhile, McFarlane Toys' _FNAF_ Construction Sets didn't have a lot of substantial set-piece builds, instead focusing on boxes with a singular figure and a small build.
It's why I miss Buildable Action Lines like _Bionicle_ and _Hero Factory._ The sets truly involve building a figure to one's liking. All on a level of customization that can be far deeper than one can achieve through Minifigures with shared molds and different printing. And these brick-built ones that we are getting for the Superhero lines these days just don't cut it for me.
Other than color, how different is it from the last one?
They could get away with this pricing if it was the original Falcon + minifigures from A New Hope. Who is going to pay $180 (before taxes) for whatever this is?
Also, no evil R2D2... seriously Lego?
the recolored Falcon doesn't impress, certainly not for that inflated price. Also, if you as a consumer grabbed the excellent inquisitor scythe ship from 2 years ago with 3 great Dark Jedi with excellent prints, plenty of black parts and trans red all for $100, Then why would you want to be ripped off by this set? I would Bricklink for the one or two actual exclusive figures and save a bunch $$.
I almost just bought the $160 falcon the other day on a whim. Glad I didn’t because I’d MUCH rather have this one instead
Lego apparently values it at $117 (1170 Insider Points).
$180 is crazy.
Really have to mention even though its completely off topic.
Your joking comments on the ps5 and lego ties to Sony, with like Horizon game sets.
I would absolutely kill for fallout sets. And at least based off what I've seen on third party sites of companies that produce custom minifigures, etc- its the second most popular theme after star wars.
I don't really care about the Dark Falcon or ANY Falcon. Don't have one, never wanted any of the versions currently available.
The only things that interest me are the white Vader and Darth Jar Jar. 😂😂😂
The Dark Falcon is just an expensive extra pieces.
I understand why some people are excited ... just not my thing.
I guess, I’d better order two clear acrylic stands for this one and my 20th anniversary Falcon.
Do Lego know "Exchange rates" for currency? I notice once again that the prices do not make sense, surely the price should be the same in both the US and EU?
It needed some more design sauce, something looking more like an Imperial vessel would have been my take. Jagged edges, more turrets, I dunno, something meaner looking. A recolor with more design differences on the interior than the exterior just isn't for me, but I can understand the appeal.
Easiest investment choice. No brainer. Im primarily a collector, but for this price you have to consider how well it holds value. Even if i was primarily an investor, I'd still say what i said regardless lol
Cool set for the minifigures but no way I'm pre ordering this. I'll wait until its down 1/3rd in price somewhere.
I like everything overall just wish they would have printed Vaders eyes blue it's a huge miss.
Actually looks really cool, to be honest however I didn't buy the other Falcons and won't buy this one.
I dont even buy legos, but im buying this, i love the white vader and a black and red falcon is dope, i bought the recent tantive iv hallway and now ill buy this, to cool sets, only legos ill own (so far)
I'd pay $120 for this and not a penny more. Lego have lost their mind.
This build would be an interesting addition to a Star Wars series a mirror verse Star Wars series
I will wait until this goes on sale. This isn’t worth a dime over $145.
The colours are on pick a brick, not every part, but enough.
There is a ps5 slim that luke skywalker is playng on💀
Lego really gets on my nerves when all the good sets that I like have to be unavailable until august. If i go up to the cape on vacation in July and i want to get a lego set at the lego store I cant get it
Never been a more pointless set other than the star wars mechs. But we do get some cool figures
Jang, if Lego had gone a little harder on the TPM anniversary this year, what would your choices have been for 1 or 2 sets of any size or description? There's so much to pull from that the Star Wars design team is sleeping on, and I mean from across the entire franchise. We've never had even a single brick to represent Kamino, Geonosis, Ryloth, Coruscant (minus the lamp.) I think Harry Potter is doing a better job than Star Wars of appealing to as many people as possible. Star Wars definitely has crazier ideas this year, but the execution has been sub par in my opinion. (My choices for TPM sets would probably be a Battle of Theed/Royal Palace, Gungan City, Lucrehulk, or a new MTT)
Love a fun and silly Lego set. Not totally sure the price is reasonable at all as usual
Looks like a repaint done by the First Order.
Eh thats a standard price isnt it, really fun concept
I will only buy a sith obi wan landspeeder.
Really like the white vader
$180? Weesa not got a lot a moolah to trade.
Thanks JANG, this looks great, here in New Zealand we pay $330nzd tax already on it, i was not going to buy another Falcon as i have been buying them from 2011, i don't have the mid scale sets , which is 4 boxed (no i haven't built one) not counting the Mico Fighters too but a Black Falcon, might be time to sell some of my older sets, The Mixer and all sorts.
put jar jars head on darth dev
The Dark Falcon, sounds cool, even though it also sounds like an evil doppelganger version of the cartoon character, The Blue Falcon.
As for this set, it looks cool and a nice spin on something we've been familiar with for so very long; price is pretty much par for the course, it's 10 more than the 2019 version, which is still on sale amazingly. Although that old one has been discounted countless amounts of times though as it's been on sale for almost five years now. What I'm puzzled by is this Dark Falcon has 228 pieces more than the 2019 Falcon, and I'm wondering, just like with the TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash Up set, where those extra pieces go in the new set and how much has changed here.
There hasn't been a play scale OT millennium falcon since 2011. That's 3 years before the main target group was born.
Beach Luke looks like the Dude's friend, Walter Sobchak (John Goodman) from the Big Lebowski.
haha weird set I like it
No lie, thought Beach Luke was supposed to be "The Dude" from Big Lebowski 😂
Small nitpick, but C3PO is a bounty hunter, not "Darth"
Gonna be seeing a lot of this set popping up on ebay for like 30% off titled "NEW no-minifigs." Like bro that is not what new means
Lol no kidding and considering the only real draw IS the minifigs with this set it should go for 40-50% off at that point.
I look at this and think of Lego Movie Batman only building in black and sometimes very dark grey.
This is a really neat set! I hope they do more like this with special figures! Unfortunate that Darth Jar Jar has no hood, but it's inderstandable.
Sad they didn't make the eyes different color. It just blank white mask.
That scene when Darth jar-jar walking out "Mesa going to hurt yousa" Lol.
It looks really good, the figures are great, the price is, alright.. hey, it's not the Deku Tree (I'm still really disappointed at that price.)
I feel like the interior could be more detailed though, it feels like there's a bit too much empty space to me. I appreciate the space for using minifgures but currently it just feels a bit too empty.
Most people are going to buy this for Darth Jar Jar, and hey, I am too! Thanks for the look Jang, it's neat to see how this looks with the official photos finally up!
I really love the look of this ship. Story wise it could just be a regular corellian freighter, so it could be used for anything
It's pretty cool but i think making such an obscure thing at such a high price point was a poor move especially since It'll be taking the place of the actual falcon in shelves
umm, I don't get it.
No matter what universe the Falcon can never look too clean, it is always the fastest hunk o' junk in the galaxy. So in that regard it makes sense to me.
The only falcon I have is the microscale, so I kiiiinda want this one, especially for the figs
something i haven't seen anyone say in the discussion around this so far is that not only is the dejarik table now a gaming console, the position on the ship has been flipped, which could further reinforce the "dark" nature of the falcon
Say what you will about the Acolyte, but it is bizarre that no sets are being released for it but this is coming out.
As someone who hasn’t really wanted a falcon I kinda dig this one.
