    I'm running a Tekin T45 with a 1080 and mine will hold strong , and at a lower drag brake I can give my throttle a touch and it will hold until I touch throttle and roll into it. I will say I think this Tekin is doing alot of the work . So smooth and quite . And lots of torque as far as my testing has gone

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really a fan of gearing up on a crawler. You have a fast ratio but you also have about 7-1 gearing in those portals. Big difference. Larger pinions reduce the low end control and also reduce the effective drag brake, this fusion as I’ve show on a trx with 2-speed in 2nd gear the drag brake doesn’t hold due to fast gearing. Not saying a tooth or two would hurt anything, but the majority of my factor vehicles are stock ratios or geared down some.

    Try it with a 19-21 tooth pinion, it should still have good low speed but with more wheel speed. I ran a 21 on my Gen8 with AXE 550 3300kv and great low speed control and never a torque or heat issue. I run a 19 on my Axial with the AXE 540 2300. Same result.

    • @ExocagedRC

      @jasonengland2357 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ExocagedRC I have not found a pinion big enough yet that these AXE motors couldn't handle with ease. Since the AXE has such good low speed control and a hill brake that works so well, you don't need the small pinions to make the truck hold a hill or to get low speed control.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this one the shocks have the stock oil, I've read I need to go thick like 60-70wt. I really don't like full droop for the way I drive, I have now put on some Axial Purple springs for the Capra and from what I can see on the table I am going to like this a lot more. About .25" compression on front and .5" compression on rear.

    • @ConditionZero76
      @ConditionZero76 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ExocagedRC Ye, Im not a fan of running spring less & light wt oil!! I generally run all my trucks with 600/700 cst or Losi 60-70 wt, then I tune the front end at roughly 3/4ths droop & the rear end 50/60% droop. run it like that you'll never go back, those shocks stay planted on the rocks there no bouncing all over the place, just smooth slow motion like articulation that keeps you planted!!👍🏼

    I’ve been wanting to upgrade the stock system in my trx6. Do you think this motor would be adequate for the trx6? Love the vids btw

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would probably work but you’d be much better off with either a 2700kv Axe or 3300kv Axe or you could do a castle mamba x and a Holmes Puller Pro 3500kv and really wake it up.

      Exocaged RC thanks for the advice! I’m not looking to make this thing crazy fast. I’ve been babying the thing mostly anyways. Just want to have more torque and a stronger drag brake.

    Hey bud I’m building a 10.2 that I bought a vs410 chassi kit for and a set of vanquish d44 axles also got a 3 gear transmission with a vanquish case my I was wandering is there’s way that I could get 15 to 20 mph and still have good low speed control or what motor/esc/gearing would you recommend love your videos by the way I watch them everyday like everyone else

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and being a part of the Exocaged Channel! The only way I can see getting those speeds would be a Castle Mamba X and the Slate 3800kv motor, to get those speeds you will sacrifice a bit of down low control but the castle combo would be the best I can think of for what you're trying to get

      3500kv Puller Pro would be it. I have one of those motors and it runs great. Currently it’s in the Redcat Wendigo
