    just orderd one for my rock bouncer i'm building just now, going in my crawler first though as why the hell not lol prob be a bit slow for it though as its got a 3200 kv motor in it and its not exactly fast with that in it, need to fire up the tig and finnish the bouncer!!

    Would the newer Fusion SE be a better physical fit do you think. I believe it’s a little shorter.
    I guess I’ll find out as I’ve ordered one to fit to the CC-02 Unimog I’ll be building soon.

      Most welcome. I was really impressed by this and would even spend my own money picking up a second one for my next 4x4 crawler build.

    Installed one in my TRX-4 yesterday with 3S. What a difference. This thing is a beast when it comes to low speed torque. It’s like my Bronco didn’t even know what crawling was before.

    My go to motor for a crawler is usually a 35 or 45 turn motor. I have started to look into 5 slot motors I have a 16 turn in 5 slot.

    The first setting would be like running sensored or sensorless. I think the cost is reasonable when you compare it to say a Castle Creations esc and motor or Tekin or Holmes hobby set up.

    Put the cap head screw from the inside out and use the m lock nut on the outside of the rail, then you may not have to remove any material?

  • @Warwick3511
    @Warwick3511 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    From what I gather the hobbywing crawler sensor works off the motor amp draw/ or wheel speed rather than the rotor position.

    • @BlitzWorks
      @BlitzWorks 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what i understand it has an in built magnetic position sensor to measure the rotor then uses FOC to vary the Amp draw and control the output force directly rather than by proxy as in normal ESC's (eg some ESC's monitor and try to maintain power draw or velocity as part of their control loop wile FOC calculates the output force directly)

    The hobbywing fusion is really fantastic, but the dimensions (includes the esc) isn't friendly to most tamiya chassics.

    • @dave-j-k
      @dave-j-k 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ajmarqueling Its absolutely amazing, good speed not too fast for a scale truck, unstoppable torque and a crawl speed as low as you would ever want to go. Highly recommended.

    • @ajmarqueling
      @ajmarqueling 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dave-j-k awesome thank you. I'm coming from a highly modified nitro Revo and I have to fight to resist making this thing too fast and ruin the fun crawling with this one

    • @dave-j-k
      @dave-j-k 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ajmarqueling I was pretty much the same, a few nitro cars and a Tamiya monster truck which was always too fast and the Nitro's needed flat ground. The TRX-4 and the Fusion is a real eye-opener and going slow over rough ground/rocks etc is far more fun than thrashing/bashing :) Battery life is insane - i use a single 3s Lipo and it will crawl / short sprint for about three hours

    • @ajmarqueling
      @ajmarqueling 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dave-j-k it's funny when I bought my Revo I bought it for my brother and it was set up kind of to be a rock crawler out in Arizona. I buy it and changed everything on it and now it does look 60 miles an hour and you can't play with it unless it's a big open area so I am glad to hear your advice and I'm looking forward to getting the trx4. Just seen FedEx that it will be delivered today :)

  • @GeoffreyCapes
    @GeoffreyCapes 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    From my understanding setting the lipo to automatic and switching between 2s & 3s can be a little dodgy, i think it was something to do with the esc recognising a half charged 3s as a fully charged 2s and depleting the battery too much... Can’t fully remember!

  • @garymurphy5133

    Trouble is , if esc blows no motor left or vice versa, with the normal setup, if one blows you still have the other componant.

  • @hondofourfivetwo9347
    @hondofourfivetwo9347 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve always had mixed feelings about HW esc’s mostly related to the switch on all my race vehicles and my crawlers I usually lop off the switches (one less thing to fail) unfortunately HW puts their programming button and interface on the Switch lead on the flip side it’s super convenient to just hookup the programming card to the switch lead no unplugging of the receiver or bulky inline Bluetooth module (like my castle mamba X systems) only one I think that does the programming interface better is Tekin since they use a dedicated port on the ESC for the programmer.
    Definitely see the benefits of an all in 1 esc/motor combo especially for scale stuff that HW style is silky smooth
    🍺😎👍🏽
