Marcelo improves his ordering practices, and they market to the community more. Marcelo and Kata gave their relationship another try, but ultimately did not get back together. Eduardo left the restaurant soon after. He now works for himself as a caterer. Mojito closed in 2016. Marcelo remarried and moved to Chile. Kata competed on "Chopped". She then competed on another show "Cutthroat Kitchen" and won

While Kata and Marcelo remained separated, they managed to keep the restaurant open for a good six years, which is tough in a competitive Brooklyn market.
However, the restaurant did eventually close in March 2016.
As of 2022, the old Mojito Brooklyn location is occupied by a new bakery/cafe named Le Petit Monstre.
Since the restaurant’s closure, Kata has had a succesful career in the culinary industry, appearing on a number of popular cooking shows including Chopped and Cut Throat Kitchen.

You can see how much love they have for eachother. It's hidden underneath frustration and stress, but when they finally started to work well together, you could really see it was there.
Marcelo looked so beaten at the beginning of this video. It's great to see them sort their problems out, even if it was for just 7 years.

The two owners annoyed me initially but I did find it genuinely sweet how they were most excited about each others' happiness in the end.

That's what marriage will do to a man. She's a Cuban girl so that's not the easiest to deal with. Second both of these people are good looking so for them having to cheat is not a big deal. I am sure she gets hit on by lots of guys and I doubt Marcelo has any issues picking up women however the difference is that he truly loves her and like most women in general they don't give a shit. It's usually a one sided marriage where he loves her but she doesn't care about it.

I'm really happy these guys made it work and kept the restaurant going. I'm so happy to see them succeed. These were perhaps some of the most committed to change and least confrontational/delusional owners on the US series. I think they're closed now, but they went another 7 years after Ramsay left, and I'm hoping they closed on their own terms. Because they were ready to stop, and not because they were forced to close.

Gordon calling Mojito's their "baby" when asking them if they're willing to put all their differences aside for the restaurant was a good choice of words.
We get told that they had troubles conceiving an actual child and that, somewhat, played a part in their separation.
Gordon calling the restaurant their "baby" isn't something that you never here but I think the choice to use it here was intentional because to them,
if they couldn't have a real child they can at least treat the restaurant as their "child" and have something to work for, live for, and have a passion for.
