Never fully tighten the first screw, it’ll through the mount off center and could pop off more easily and you’ll have a much more difficult time getting it zeroed in.
based on the shots I've taken with just the RBU (with no RMR) at 15 and 25 yards, I've seen repeatable combat effective accuracy. Test targets were 8" plates, roughly the size of a human head. I'll post examples in the followup vid.
I would probably just leave the front sight where it is. It's not really in the way, and if for some reason you ever wanted to take this mount off, you could always just slide your rear sight back in place.
Hi! Thread lock is often used to make sure the screws stay in place under recoil, especially for the use of red dots on pistols. Some of the factory screws actually already have blue thread lock on them!
@@larrydieter4854 Crimson Trace laser grips. Lasers on hand guns are VERY difficult to use accurately due to there only being 2 points of contact to steady it.
would loke one on my 5" 1911. its not cut for one. and i just dont like the look if the higher mounted red dots. that and relying on a battery to work just sucks
@@LightWaIker hey, its been a great mount and has held up for a long time with no signs of failure. The front sight has also been great for racking the slide one handed, while protecting the body of the red dot. Unless you plan on milling your slide for an RMR, I feel this is the best cost effective alternative with great features. -Jim
TAYLOR MANUEL just a generic sight pusher I bought from ebay years ago. The following link will lead you to something similar: NcStar Universal Pistol Rear Sight Tool, Blue, One Size www.amazon.com/dp/B01HU4NNDE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_XtXuAbVB3XB3T
Very easy. I went with a 25 yard zero, starting with 5 yards and slowly pushing the target out to distance. Best way is to bench the gun if possible to ensure the maximum accuracy.
+Mark Mollat it's been great so far! still running an extensive test at the moment but results are very promising. look forward to a followup in the future!
Guess this will work with my glock like dovetail in my Taurus G3. That will be great though. Now my mind its totally wondering just out of curiosity but I guess the safe thing will be to buy better the new Toros conversion slide kit that comes will all the mounting plates.Yet I probably still go co witness still.
I would rather have a tall suppressor height front sight. I like that it has a built-in rear sight!
Nice video.
Great video on alternative mounting. Thanks

Just bought one with the tritium inserts for my Vortex Venom; excited to see what it does.
Did you vortex venom red dot fit on this mount?
The vortex venom fits on mine.
@@dwanmack4099 fit just fine, no luck with the optic. Got a RMR, gtg
Watching this video 8 years later, do you still have this? Did you find issues with it or was it worthwhile?
nice mount .. but how accurate are the iron sights considering their short distance from each other?
Follow up video yet ?
Isn't the sight radius going to be lousy with the rear and front being so close together?

I bought the red dot back up with the night sights and was a waste of money. They are barely visible.

😢 Thanks for the video. I am from Chile, do you know an online store that sells this mount for Glocks and ship to Chile? Thanks!
wish the sights had white coloring
It's okay to use loctite on the trijicon screw? Thought you weren't supposed to.
Awesome! Keep us updated

+shadowhawk012 ah cool. Thanks
use blue loctight. never red.
Those mounts cost just as much or even more than just getting your own slide cut...
If you dont have a sight pusher how do you get that in?
Best way would be to wrap the slide in painters tape, put it into a bench vise, and tap the sight in with a delrin punch
Did you leave off the front sight and just allowed the open hole?
I put a strip of grip tape along the top of the slide. But yes, normally with this setup you leave the front sight hole open
IS THERE A WAY TO MOUNT A SMALL LASER SIGHT ON A HAND GUN THAT DOES NOT HAVE A RAIL ON IT AND IF SO WOULD IT LOOK OK

Is this compatible with Springfield XD9?
im sure they make them that will work with it
@@darinr9424 been looking at this. They don't. Only for Glocks and M&Ps. No one else makes anything similar. Sucks!

did you ever change your rmr system?
Sounds like glitch mob music
Thought so too. Good song. Wonder if the video was monitized or not.
Well.... it's been 30 months - and the follow up? Would have been nice to just read a few words.
Been busy pursuing a career in law enforcement. But i have purchased new video equipment and audio stuff. I hope to start new content soon!
@@shadowhawk012 have any quick update on the RBU? Just interested if it held up and was worth the money to you. Thanks, good video!

are there any gaps at all between the rbu and the slide below it ?
Mobile 28 COC a very slight gap. But its so small i doubt you could put a piece of paper between the slide and rbu
Well, works the same with airsoft, thx
Which sight tool are you using here?

Thought on Glock and most slides, off pushing from right to left and back on left to right? Pretty basic knowledge.
What does the package include
Updates?
putting together a follow up vid right now. weather hasn't been great to go shooting though :P

DO THESE FIT the Glock 30s
Hugo Quinones they do. I ordered one.
does it work on usp?

WHY in the F do all of the videos have to have the F N noise? (music}
Hmmm you made this 150x more complicated
I can't hear you! even with my speakers set to 65% I can hear.
music sucks other than that great video lol
And is louder then the guy talking.
You are so quiet ...
Bckground music sucks bad and makes it hard to hear narration.
You bought an RMR to might on your Glock with that cheap mount lol. Get a MOS or mill your slide damn lol
so sick of Glock!
Get a CZ. I love mine.
Butthurt
That's capitalism. If you don't like it, buy something else.
