loving this! - race commentary but from a drivers pov is fascinating (and you’re good at it too). I like the replays during the race rather than waiting until the end.
Thank you mate, yeah that was exactly the thing I was aiming for when I started doing videos. I watched loads of other sim racers on TH-cam, but all with replays at the end… I found I’d half-forgotten the incident by then, so thought it’d be cool to insert a tv-style replay straight after, while the incident is fresh in the viewer’s mind. Thank you for watching 😃
love your enthusiasm. even though you're struggling, getting punted etc, you're still keep on going. I'm in the same boat, casual sim racer, jump into races from time to time, and my experience is very similar to what you've experienced in this video. it is frustrating quiet often, but oh so much fun at times
Ahh thank you mate, great to know it’s not just me! I’m glad I shared the video, because I feel a lot happier now loads have people have told me how bad my tire pressures were. I set them to my usual settings, not realising they’d changed since the update. So maybe I’ll find things a bit better next time 🤞
you did quite well, you just had your pressures all wrong. keep them between 26 and 27 and you should be able to reach top 10. and if you're committed to one car and don't wanna try others anymore, I highly suggest spending 20bucks on a pack of esports setups by gosetups or coach dave academy. you don't need to do that to be fast, but it helps a lot.
good job in finishing the race Chris! :) I struggle with ACC for months, that's why I don't race in it anymore, I just can't get used to driving the cars in ACC anymore :(
your vids and commentaries are greatly appreciated by us non alien drivers. Not many people have the hours for set up's, but its a game and meant to be fun. Keep going the top spot on the podium will come.
Well done for hanging on, tyre pressures have changed to between 26-27 lower pressures in the range reap more grip in corners, higher pressures more top end!
Just fantastic to watch, I'm continually on the edge of my seat. Your reactions and racecraft is second to none. Just heard your comments, nooo! Sometimes it feels like you're fighting up hill but, keep driving keep practicing and please don't give up.😢
Ahhh thank you mate, things have got much better since this race, thanks to everybody’s tips and advice. Turns out I had my tyres set up all wrong. Now I’ve got them sorted, I’m enjoying it a lot more!
Good effort Dude.... LFM looks absolutely mental so well done on just getting to the end... I'll say it again, you really should be on the telly though, you'd make a fantastic commentator.....Even my Mrs thinks so lol.
1.9 is literally a game changer. I haven’t raced it for almost 2 years. I’ve been on Iracing almost exclusively. Came to try the update and it makes Iracing feel like the 2005 sim it is. If you don’t like the online races try LFM. Much better racing
Thanks Walt. In hindsight it seems like I got my tyre settings all wrong - different pressures required since the update, which is why I found it so hard to control. Maybe others were experiencing the same, which explains the higher number of crashes!
Yeah I thought the FFB felt really good here. A lot firmer, which I like. I just couldn’t cope with the lack of grip feeling, but I know realise that’s because I messed up my tyre pressures big time! Didn’t realise they need to be a lot lower now, post-update!
The one of these I did was also a crash fest ( lim mid split ). Not sure why, people just drove through me like I wasn't there even in qualy. The BOP is all over the place as well so everyone is now driving Ferraris. I had a similar experience to Chris tbh and not in a hurry to go back. But I'm sure I will at some point. The FFB is much better and the new 992 is awesome.
I was the #21 Aston Martin behind that 3 way battle that ended up in contact between you all. It was like the parting of the red sea, you all spun off and left a path for me in the middle 😄. Good race that was!
Hi Terry, thanks for getting in touch. Haha yeah you must have been delighted to see us all crashing in every direction 🤣 you got a good finish in the end, top 10! Hopefully see you on track again soon mate
Hi Chris, just started watching your ACC videos. As MrKlaw said in his comment, your race commentary is amazing, also love the instant replays to show all the incidents at the time they happen, rather than at the end. Please continue with ACC as it is refreshing to see another racer who is not winning all the time or setting amazing competitive times which is common with many of the other You Tube car racers you see online (i.e James Baldwin, RA Shadow, Rory Alexander etc). I started ACC about 6 months ago and average about 6-10 hours per week. My times are nowhere near as good as yours so I still have a lot of work to do. I have not attempted online racing yet but LFM seems to be a bit of a demolition derby. Apart from the very competitive times how do they preserve their safety ratings? I touch a car and instantly lose 2 safety points. Looking forward to more action races.
Hi Julian, thanks for getting in touch, and for the kind words too 😃 This was the exact reason I started making videos… I wanted to be a relatable option for the more casual, amateur sim racers. Good to hear you’ve started ACC, and I hope you can work your way up to giving online racing a try. The competition on LFM can be very fierce, so it’s quite intimidating when you’re starting out. But the key is to play it safe… pick and choose your battles wisely. If you suspect someone might be dangerous or out of control, just let them past… it’s better to lose one place and stay on track, rather than trying to defend one place and have your race ruined. Good luck, and keep me posted on how you’re getting on 👍
lots of action there, Chris I'm in the same boat as you I usually only have time for one race a week. A lot of these people have been racing for years and race every day. You do great for the amount of time you devote to it. I found focusing on one sim and one car for a while really helped me build some confidence. Your videos are always top notch, you are so talented with your commentary. I'm always happy to see a CR video alert show up when I click on the bell. I will be looking forward to your next race.
Thanks Bill, yeah I do sometimes think I should stick to one sim, but whenever I try it, I soon get bored and find myself missing my other games! I constantly hop between 4-5 sims these days, which means the odds of me getting good in any of them are pretty low. I’m cool with that, but I want to be competitive at least. Here, I wasn’t even competitive! Although it now sounds like I got my tyre pressures completely wrong, which would explain it. Another reason why I struggle with ACC - it’s so dependent on setups, and I’m not really a ‘setups’ kinda sim racer. I’m all about the fixed setups 🤣
Love your videos ! You are giving a lot of good energy for a day! Have one suggestion. Have you tried using higher resolution or bitrate for your videos? It started to get a little bit blurry and 1080p looks like old 720p
Funny you should say that, but I’ve started to notice it myself. The text and stuff on the HUD all looks sharp and crisp, but the on-track stuff does look a little blurry. I’ve been meaning to have a look at my record settings in GeForce, and also my export settings. Will take a look 👍
I really want to enjoy it, but just wish there was the option of fixed setup races or something like that. Having to do lap after lap, continually adjusting tyre pressures until you find the sweet spot, isn’t my idea of sim racing fun 🤣
Thanks John, yeah once I realised from all the comments how much tyre pressure management had changed, I felt a lot better - now I know it wasn’t just my lack of ability! So I’m a bit more encouraged now, knowing I should be able to race a bit better with a few simple tyre tweaks 😃
The #5 car of Axel messed up big time, a typical hotshot, he thinks he can overtake both of you like a hero. Racer like Axel absolutely make me mad cause they think they can just magically teleport pass all the cars in front of them as if they are not there. I would of reported him. Otherwise great video Chris, nice job picking up spots, very exciting race!
Yeah, wasn’t just my incident either, there was the other one a few laps earlier too. I didn’t moan about it too much, because I did the same to someone else in my rF2 video the other day 🤣 So I guess it was sim racing karma, catching up with me!
Great vid as always Chris! My latest problem in simracing is I keep hearing your excellent commentary in my head when i'm racing and its putting me off! 😂😂
Not an easy sim to just drop into, fun video again, loved the i have worked my way up to 18th, i dont think you were even close to making a pass but they just kept thowing it at the woods in front ACC always full of last minute brake heros. Looks like you have the same issue as me carry too much speed into the corners then scrub the front tyres, ending up getting a bad exit out of the corner. Keep at it buddy
Ahh mate, it was a bleedin’ nightmare! Although at least now I know I over-inflated my tyres way too much, which explained the lack of grip. But to be honest, all that testing to tweak tyre pressures each time numbs my brain anyway. I’d rather just hop in and run with what I’ve got. Which probably explains why I’m never any good! Can’t even grumble at the punt… in hindsight, there’s no way I’d have been able to stay in front of any of them anyway 🤣
Your struggles with ACC reminds me of my struggles with RFactor2 since i got it. Keep at it bud, and if youve got the new dlc the Ferrari is a fantastic car.
Ahh thanks mate. Yeah it was really disappointing. I spent ages and lots of effort to make progress in this sim, and now all of a sudden I seem to be right back at the beginning. I haven’t got the DLC yet but I am sure I’ll pick it up soon. Lots of Ferraris in this race!
@@chrisrogerssimracing the 296 has a really nice balance and much less prone to oversteer than the other MR cars ive driven, and its cracking on the brakes as well. Keep ya chin up, we all have bad races :)
Don't feel too bummed about struggling in ACC. It handles quite differently to other sims and it does take getting used to. Some may have commented that with the 1.9 update you need to get the tyre pressures within 26. Also I've found that reducing the bump rubber so the springs actually get the chance to work makes the car behave like it actually has suspension. Either way you make very entertaining sim content.
Thank you Daniel, really appreciate the kind words and the tips. I’m not feeling quite so down, now I know I’d missed the new tyre setups. I’ve not had a chance yet to race again, but I’m planning to very soon! Hopefully I’ll go a bit better!
Thank you mate. Yeah, given how I was the slowest driver on track, finishing 17th out of 26 isn’t a bad result! Seems like I blew my tire settings too, so maybe I’ll find I better next time when I get them sorted properly 🤞
Good video Chris One of my main reason from jumping from console to pc was acc . But since then I’ve found iracing to be far more enjoyable apart from the pricing model, every time I go back to acc it’s a struggle lol 😂
The beauty of iRacing over ACC, for me at least, is the fixed setup race option. Fixed setups are perfect for my ‘hop in, hop out’ approach to sim racing. It at least gives me a fighting chance to be competitive. The setup focus in ACC is fantastic, but it does take a lot of practice and hard work to become a specialist - something that I won’t ever be! 🤣
@@chrisrogerssimracing yeah u need to invest to much time in acc bench it needs to be your main sim . Iracing suits my pop in pop out to sim racing too
As much as I love 1.9 update, my only complaint is the braking and tire wear seems so inconsistent now. But as far as handling and slide the 1.9 update is amazing!
I’ll take your word for it on the handling and slide! I over-inflated my tyres so much, I couldn’t feel a thing 🤣 felt like I was driving on ice! At least now, thanks to all the comments on here, I know that optimum tyre pressures are now a lot lower post-update. Will look forward to giving it another try 👍
Bad luck mate. I have been spending a lot of time in iRacing a lot over the past few months, then tried out ACC again with a similar result as you: I seemed to have lost all technique and speed. I'm not an expert by any means, but the way each SIM feels is different for sure. Changing the optimum tyre pressures in the recent update doesn't help either. Looking forward to your next video regardless.
Thank you Richard, I’ve been doing a fair bit more iRacing too lately, and am really enjoying it. Particularly the fixed setup races, where you don’t have to faff with settings!
Haha yeah it was comedy gold! At first I wondered if he’d run out of fuel but then noticed his brake lights coming on after he crossed the line. By the time he realised, I was several seconds clear 🤣
Don't kick yourself mate, this week has been a huge adjustment for everybody. The M4 particularly seems sluggish now. But the new tyre model is so much more pedantic and sensitive. I can actually feel sidewall flex in the R8 now. This was seemed particularly messy for whatever reason. You are right though, ACC really does require practice and commitment. Tyres should be between 26 and 27 psi now, with lower being slightly better for qualifying and higher for a stint. If you feel tyres are going off too quickly take more time warming them up, as they will grain of blister easier otherwise. And you may also have too much toe/camber/caster dialled in which can cause overheating too. You can open brake ducts to help keep tyres cool. Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs there but these things have really helped me preserve tyres in the Audi.
Haha thanks mate, no you’re certainly not teaching me to suck eggs! I’m completely clueless when it comes to setups, it’s why in the other sims I tend to stick to fixed setup races. I just ran default setup for this race, and tweaked the tyre pressures - but was aiming for 27.7 psi, not realising it had changed with the update 🤦🏻♂️
Think you still were more on it than a while ago. Lots of avoiding skills there. Being consistent goes a long way. Shame about the contact later on with the Lambo and the Audi. This time it was you in the gravel. Entertaining video.
Thanks, yeah I thought I better not complain too much about the crash, after what happened in my rF2 race 🤣 the sim racing gods paying me back, I think!
Hi Chris. Check out the new tyre pressures for 1.9. I think this might be where you’re going wrong. Got to get them pressures between 26-27. Hope this helps.
Thanks mate, yeah I was completely unaware that tyre pressures had changed so dramatically when I did this race. I’d set mine up to aim for 27.7 (and even then, messed it up so that they went into the 28s!) I haven’t had chance to race again since, but I’m looking forward to giving it another try with better tyres! Thanks mate
@Chris Rogers Sim Racing yeah you'll be flying going forward. I can definitely see you taking a second a lap off them times. :-) keep up the great work. Loving the videos.
Hey Chris - that was almost a carbon copy of my last race at Zolder. I qualified P19 - only because the other guys (20, 21, 22, 23) didn't qualify. I managed to finish in 13th place - not because I overtook anyone - they just kept leaving the track ahead of me. It's particularly frustrating for me because this is the track I finally qualified for LFM on. I wisely qualified the day before the ACC update. Since the update I can't reach the same pace - I keep sliding. Sheesh.
Thanks Dave, I’m relieved to hear I’m not the only one! It seems from lots of comments on here that the old tyre pressure targets are no longer working. So that definitely appears to be the cause of my sliding. New pressures should be between 26-27, not like mine - I set them to target 27.7 like before. It’s a pain, keep having to do these tyre pressures. I much prefer fixed setup races 🤣
Nice job staying on the track and avoiding those that didn't. Sad you got pushed off, was going so well up till than. Too bad acc runs like crap in vr, would love to get in.
Yeah, was a real blow, that. I would have been well happy with 14th. Doubt I’d have been able to hold off those guys for much longer though, so it probably didn’t do too much harm in the long run.
I feel you Chris, I really do. Not only makes this field of very inexperienced drivers around you hard to race but what you said last is unfortunately the truth. ACC is definitely not the sim to jump in and have some fun. Making setups are crucial and a lot of practice essential. That is coming from someone who's casually playing ACC for 2 1/2 years now. Though not everything is dark on the horizon. First off your tyre pressures were way too high since that has changed in the last big 1.9 update. The new optimal pressure range is now 26.0 - 27.0. The lower end for more grip but more heat and wear and the upper end for more tyre longevity and less heat that comes with a little less grip. Also try out the new Ferrari 296. It is by far the easiest car to push right now and feels a whole lot different than any other car with it's massive aerodynamic grip. Maybe that car suits you more than the M4 which is now the second easiest car in the game.
Thank you, yeah I was completely unaware of the new tyre pressure requirements when I did this race. But now knowing that played a big part, I’m not quite so despondent about it! I wondered why so many people were driving Ferraris in this race too! That would explain it, if it’s the easiest to drive! Haven’t had a chance to race since this, but I’m hoping to soon 👍
Yeah, it sounds like it’s a different, much lower, optimum tyre pressure that’s now required. I just aimed for 27.7 psi like before, but the new version requires lower 26 psi pressures. So I was racing on over-inflated balloons! Thanks to all the tips on here, I’ll hopefully fare a little better next time!
i hear you after v1.9.... feels like i have gone backwards in terms of pace.... but at least the new tyre model and the improved FFB details it brings makes the driving much more enjoyable even if my pace is slower
Yeah, I was expecting to be slower, but I had hoped everybody else would be equally slower 🤣 seems I completely messed up my tyre pressures though, didn’t realise they’d changed. So I’ll be keen to try again!
Haha it’s so true. I was the slowest on track by far, but went from 25th to 14th in a few laps - all from freebies. Sadly the bad luck caught up to me though 🤣
@@chrisrogerssimracing Than you should join the R3E endurance 2h at Bathurst in two weeks :) they're now splitting based on rank * reputation (although still manually), and I had pretty fun race last week with 2.4h around Dubai :)
I actually prefer ACC with the new physics update. It's still takes an awful lot of time with it to be competitive though. Great race, full of incidents lol!!!!As always, great stuff.🎉
Oh yeah, definitely not a dull moment in this race! It’s been quite a while since I last races GT3s in ACC, so I can’t really remember what it was like to compare it to. The wheel FFB feels firmer now, I like that. I even had to turn down the gain a bit.
I agree, I've not touched iRacing this week. Still just doing offline races though even though I have my LFM license. I'm just too slow to do online yet in ACC.
Ooooooh is it? Has that all changed with the new update then? I was still aiming for the old 27.7 psi. If that’s the case, then yeah that would definitely be a reason why I was struggling. Thank you! 😃
@@chrisrogerssimracing yup. 26.7 new target. Though if low speed track can go low 26s high speed tracks with high speed corners closer to 27. So most ppl go for lower pressures in quali then up it closer to 26.7-8 for the race for better tire life.
@@chrisrogerssimracing tyre Deg and brake fade is real now. really notice it after 30 minute mark. I found 26.6 to be my magic numbers on tyres now .I'm sure you will be smiling again on the next session of ACC . Great content as always keep up the good work 👏👍
@@nicko5237 Top man, thank you so much for the clarification. So my tyres in this race must have been like overinflated balloons then! This makes me feel heaps better, thank you 😃
@@o78renta Perfect, thank you so much for the tips. It’s made me feel so much better, knowing it was overinflated tyres causing me problems, and not just my own lack of ability! Now I know what to aim for next time 😃
As mentioned before, seems like you missed the memo about the new tyre-pressures and temps (operating window is between 26 and 27 psi - temperatures between 70 and 100 degrees Celcius). Either way, pretty much every race on this track regardless of split has been a complete sh*tshow with people punting and divebombing right left and center, so i wisely decided to give this week a complete pass (Valencia races are just as bad if not even worse).
Haha yeah, I think you may have made a wise decision! It sure was chaos out there. All my positions gained were freebies, but I was riding my luck… there’s only so many crashes you can avoid before you get taken out. I had a complete nightmare with the tyres… didn’t even consider they might have all changed since I last raced. Won’t make that mistake again!
I'm the same with ACC. Really struggle with it. Although I'm not great at any of them, I have been having more fun with rFactor 2 but this week's Porsche races are undrivable because of just how poorly optimised rFactor 2 is, with serious frame rate issues on my poor RX570. Although ACC looks much better, it performs way better than rFactor 2 on that card. But you're clearly from the same stable as I am: "Drive smarter, not harder."
Funny you should say that, I’ve noticed a lot more stutters and momentary frame rate freezes in rF2 in recent weeks. It never used to be a problem. This week I dialled down my graphic settings a bit, but it was still there. ACC does look great… but it’s so bloody hard to drive, and time-consuming to practice!
@@daviddavies3637 Nope, definitely not. Oulton Park the other week was particularly bad. Had a couple of freezes last about 1sec. I’ve turned down my graphics settings for Shadows and other bits, which has helped a lot. Still the odd stutter, but nothing that lasts too long
It was a lunchtime race, so only 4 splits. And this was split 3! I guess we’ll put the carnage down to lots of people struggling with the new physics update!
100%. I knew there was an update so I was expecting it to feel different, but didn’t realise I’d actually need to set new tyre pressures. So I was racing this one with massively over-inflated tyres! Explains the lack of grip and control!
Man this had no business being so entertaining 😂😂 brutal race but awesome video!!! I'd fuckin love for you too narrate some of my race footage, you sound like a legit announcer !
New tyre physics might be an issue for you dude, they've just updated. Good consistency though, just need time to adapt. Try the lambo, I found it a bit easier. Great stuff again though. ✌️
Yeah I knew there was an update, but I didn’t even think about looking to see if tyre physics/pressures etc were different. May we’ll be the reason why I found it so tough. Plus I’ve not driven GT3s in ACC for a couple of months, so that certainly wouldn’t have helped either!
V1.9 New tire pressures 26-27. low more traction/more wear. High more precise, less grip. Also old setups don’t really work anymore. Your tires were prob toast 😂 Don’t feel bad. The Ferrari is dominating. Check the results
Thanks mate. Yeah I was oblivious to the new tyre requirements! Aimed for 27.7 as before, and even then I got that slightly wrong. The fronts were above 28 by the end of the race. So that would definitely explain why I had no grip or feeling at all. To be honest, it’s a relief to hear that… at least I can now explain why I was so bad and know how to fix it! Cheers
@@chrisrogerssimracing You would have definitely suffered from the pressures. Tire wear has also been updated as well It’s very extreme now. We are all basically learning a new sim. FFB feels different for me. I had to make some major adjustments to get it right. Good luck!
Hey Chris i'm not sure if you're aware, you should make changes to your pressures since nowadays the optimal are around 26-27.0, anywhere inside that space is good enough. Usually take care of that with the temperature. Actually crazy to see how people do not know how to drive. Might as well be slow but consistent than to be fast, aggressive and dangerous. I'm also slow but I rarely put myself into accidents too
Hey Pedro, I was completely unaware that optimum tyre pressures had changed so dramatically! I knew there was an update, but didn’t even think that pressures would change 🤦🏻♂️ thank you for letting me know - it’s cheered me up, knowing that it wasn’t just my bad driving!
@@chrisrogerssimracing Yeah, it wasn't you being bad at all (which I don't agree, I think you're fairly good). At the first few laps you almost spun out touching the sand on T1 and I bet if you had better pressures you probably wouldn't have had that issue. I would advise checking an update video whenever you have time to check, there were also other small changes to setups Also be aware that your wheel is clipping a lot (the red bar below your TC and ABS on the right), so you're losing detail on the ffb
@@pedrosilvaproductions Thanks, good spot on the FFB. I had a big clipping issue before, but got it fixed and noticed a huge difference. I guess I just need to make some tweaks again now, following the update 👍
You did quite well tbh not to cook your tyres,26.5 average optimum pressures now, and the BMW is awful after update the new Ferrari is OP now, when you say you don't have the time to practice, with the wider tyre window pressure wise it will make it easier and quicker to dial them in anywhere from 26-27 is all good now, don't give up give the Ferrari a go on the Aggressive preset, would really miss your brilliant ACC content if you gave up.
Ahh thanks Peter. I was feeling pretty down after the race, but I’m glad I published the video… there have been loads of tips about the new update I hadn’t even realised. Mainly the new lower tyre pressures. I inflated mine here to 27.7 psi like before, but that’s apparently way too high now! So it cheered me up that it wasn’t simply my driving that was rubbish!
@@chrisrogerssimracing no mate you actually did very well al things considered, with the BMW and the tyres, the new Ferrari is a beast though very easy to drive and very forgiving.
To the best of my knowledge with the release of this patch the new effective tyre pressure range is between 26 - 27 but not sure what the ideal is. Hope this helps.
Ahh thank you mate, yeah a few people have mentioned that aiming for around 26.6 should be the new target. I had no idea! I just went with the usual 27.7 - no wonder I was struggling! Makes me feel loads better, knowing it wasn’t just my lack of ability! Haha
Chris, don't fret too much. ACC is the only sim I race, and after 5 months, I'm still a noob at it. My first top-10 finish was last week... in 10th. If you're playing casually, and alternating between different sims, I wouldn't expect you to be driving alien times on every race. Your races and commentary are some of the best TH-cam watches out there! I hope you stick with ACC, as I would love to find myself in a race with you. 🙂 One thing I've noticed in a lot of your races is other drivers making lots of mistakes. How often are you punished for doing nothing wrong? I know LFM is a step better than open lobbies, but I wonder if you should join a casual racing club. I've found one and the friendly community and fair racing makes for a much better experience. We do one race a week, and races alternate each week between a practice sprint and a points race of various formats.
Ahh thank you Eric, glad you enjoy them. Yeah actually I joined a league when I first got ACC, and did that for a season. Sadly the community folded. But it’s a great shout, might help me enjoy it a bit more without the pressure of the LFM lobbies where everyone is so insanely fast!
@@mikecroshaw9233 @Chris Rogers Sim Racing Try Valleys Racing Motorsport Association - still a fairly small group but a great bunch of blokes and rookie races and training sessions weekly to get the hang of things without all the pressure!
4:06 that collision physics doesn't look very simulation like. The lateral force making the car fly off.... the collision and the outcome don't look very related.
I think, of all the sims, ACC has by far the worst collision physics. Another example being the red Ferrari who I just missed coming out of T1. The guy behind who hit him, that was a pretty strange collision detection too. I’ve always thought collisions looked a bit too juddery and strange in ACC
As others have pointed out optimum tyre pressures are now between 26 and 27 psi. No wonder you were struggling using the old pressures. I think with optimum type pressures you'd probably pick up 2 or 3 tenths.
Yeah I completely messed my tyre setups. Had no idea optimum pressures had changed so dramatically in the recent update. Helped me feel a bit better, knowing it wasn’t just my lack of ability!
@@chrisrogerssimracing It was painful watching you go round with probably 20% less grip than the rest of the field. By the end of the race your fronts were up over 28 psi, must have been like driving on ice, massive understeer. Always enjoy the ACC videos 👍
Bro this i have never been so off pace this week for Coach Dave LFM. I only hit 1:30s in the race and 1:29s for quali. And yet people hit 1:28s…. Its sooo tough this week. But i had a win in kyalami last week sooo ig thats great
Ahh mate, congrats! I skipped Kyalami as I’ve never driven it and didn’t have time to learn a new track. Any win in LFM is a massive achievement, well done. I can’t see me ever getting a podium, never mind a win 🤣
@@chrisrogerssimracing i have 3 podiums, getting the set up right is suuuper important. Unfortunately i got 5 DNFs in total this week due to drivers causing incident after incident. I try go avoid the best i can but yk. I was think about skipping this week, but i wanted to race. Its tough this week but hopefully everything irons out for next week,
Yeah big time! I had no idea optimum tyre pressures had dropped so much after the update. I was driving on over-inflated balloons! No wonder I couldn’t turn properly 🤦🏻♂️
Mate, crazy race, since 1.9 is like gt7, no anticipation and just opportunities like I me and myself mentality. Hope they make a better Penelty system (with AI would be cool) even if it's not your fault you get punished, better damage model (like iracing). Btw what type of pc are you using? And capture card and software? BR Per PS: your psi is to high, would be in a race like 26.7 (a bit over 26.5 due to graining over time)
Thanks mate, yeah I didn’t realise tyre pressures had changed so much. I’ll be giving ACC another go soon when I next get chance to race. As for my PC, it’s a fairly low-end stock gaming PC. Nothing too powerful. I record the gameplay using the standard Nvidia GeForce. PC specs pasted below: PC: Lenovo Legion 5 T5 28IMB05 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
I think if you would have grabbed a setup you would have been more competitive. Being on the stock aggressive set up just sets you back from the others who have the set up that suits their driving style.
In my previous races, I’d used some of the ones Luke Addison shares for free on his TH-cam channel. But I knew the physics had changed, so I didn’t bother looking for any setups that might be out of date. And I was completely oblivious to the tyre pressure changes! I’ll definitely look for a shared setup next time I race 👍
The usual carnage after an update. Not sure if you knew your tire pressures were off. They were too high which is why you struggled for grip. Psi is now between 26-27.
Lucky to have survived, all in all you did ok, considering your tire pressures were way off. Remember, the elite ACC crowd races nothing but ACC day in day out. Hard to keep up if you don't do the same. Try another one with proper pressures, then compare drivability.
Yeah I had no idea optimum tyre pressures had changed so much. No wonder I was struggling so much. It always amazes me how quick everybody is an ACC - it’s definitely a sim that rewards a lot of practice, and those who focus only on ACC as a specialist. It’s probably a bit too specialist for my available time and skills. But I’ll definitely try another race with revised tyre settings.
I see a lot of crappy driving in LFM videos. In fact for all open races in all sims. The lack of any real cost for bad driving means it will not stop either.
Yeah it was looking really good at that point. It was probably karma, because I knocked a guy off in my rF2 race on LFM earlier this week. The sim racing gods, making things even!
Yeah there was a lot of that going on in this race! I thought I’d find really well to avoid the opening lap’s chaos with only a bit of damage. But the bad luck caught up with me in the end!
Yeah thanks Davie, I had no idea tyre pressures had changed with the update! The moral of the story… I need to do some research before jumping straight into a race! Haha. Thanks mate, cheers for the comment 😃
loving this!
So maybe I’ll find things a bit better next time 🤞
26-27psi and 26-26.5 gives precision and 26.5-27 gives reliability so most players do like 26.3 on front and 26.8 on rear
you did quite well, you just had your pressures all wrong. keep them between 26 and 27 and you should be able to reach top 10.
and if you're committed to one car and don't wanna try others anymore, I highly suggest spending 20bucks on a pack of esports setups by gosetups or coach dave academy. you don't need to do that to be fast, but it helps a lot.
good job in finishing the race Chris! :) I struggle with ACC for months, that's why I don't race in it anymore, I just can't get used to driving the cars in ACC anymore :(
I absolutely love the way you celebrate every single race! It's so entertaining!
Ahh thank you mate, appreciate the kind words 😃
I could watch your videos all day!! Just brilliant, again.
Haha ahh thank you mate. Will be another one on the way this week no doubt 👍
your vids and commentaries are greatly appreciated by us non alien drivers. Not many people have the hours for set up's, but its a game and meant to be fun. Keep going the top spot on the podium will come.
Ahh thank you mate, that means a lot. Cheers! I’m still plugging away! 😃
Well done for hanging on, tyre pressures have changed to between 26-27 lower pressures in the range reap more grip in corners, higher pressures more top end!
Thanks, yeah that’s such a big change in tyre pressure requirements. I had no idea until I read all the comments on here!
@@chrisrogerssimracing
I've just found your channel and so far I've spent the last few hours just watching one after the other of your videos!😁
Good effort Dude....
LFM looks absolutely mental so well done on just getting to the end...
I'll say it again, you really should be on the telly though, you'd make a fantastic commentator.....Even my Mrs thinks so lol.
Haha, well thank you both! And yeah, survival was definitely an achievement in itself, in this one!
I haven’t tried ACC for a while now, but by this I’m in no hurry to either. Seemed like a crash fest, you did good Buddy! Thanks for sharing.
Good luck, and keep me posted on how you’re getting on 👍
Love the racing and your commentary. Please keep em coming 👍👍👍
Thank you, plenty more on the way in the coming months 👍
lots of action there, Chris I'm in the same boat as you I usually only have time for one race a week.
What is going on here 😂 so many accidents!
So much fun to watch! I looks your vids & commentary 👍
Thank you Gabriel, glad you enjoy them and cheers for watching 😃
Love your videos ! You are giving a lot of good energy for a day! Have one suggestion. Have you tried using higher resolution or bitrate for your videos? It started to get a little bit blurry and 1080p looks like old 720p
Funny you should say that, but I’ve started to notice it myself. The text and stuff on the HUD all looks sharp and crisp, but the on-track stuff does look a little blurry. I’ve been meaning to have a look at my record settings in GeForce, and also my export settings. Will take a look 👍
Totally agree about ACC Chris. I only get a few hours a week to race and I don't want to spend that time adjusting tyre pressures.
I really want to enjoy it, but just wish there was the option of fixed setup races or something like that. Having to do lap after lap, continually adjusting tyre pressures until you find the sweet spot, isn’t my idea of sim racing fun 🤣
Brilliant video Chris don't give up it was you tyre Pressures that killed you at the end way too high. Keep going you'll get that speed back
Thanks John, yeah once I realised from all the comments how much tyre pressure management had changed, I felt a lot better - now I know it wasn’t just my lack of ability!
Haha! I’m not surprised it’s off-putting! 😵💫📢
No it's a sim I don't get along with either, needs to much time commitment
Great video, I enjoy your commentary
Thank you Stefan, very kind of you to say, and I’m glad you enjoy watching. Cheers 😃
Good racing Chris. Zolder is a tough circuit to race on and a bit of a Safety Rating killer but that looked a pretty decent effort tbf.
Thank you mate. Yeah, given how I was the slowest driver on track, finishing 17th out of 26 isn’t a bad result! Seems like I blew my tire settings too, so maybe I’ll find I better next time when I get them sorted properly 🤞
I got my SA to 85 exclusively in Public lobbies at Zolder 😂
@@jimmybly2630 that’s nothing short of heroic!!
Good video Chris
One of my main reason from jumping from console to pc was acc .
Plenty of action there Chris. Unlucky at points and that one lap left but I reckon the race is over incident had me laughing 😂
If only F1 was this good, cheers buddy!!
Haha! Thanks for watching mate 😃
While it may not have been the best drive, there's nothing to be embarrassed by. At least you didn't miscount the laps 😂
Hahaha this is very true! Comedy gold 🤣
Best episode of Drive to Survive I've ever seen. 😂
Haha thanks man!
You've been-- BOTTASED!!! 🎆🎆🎆🎇🎇🎇🎉🎉🎉
Haha yes I was! I’m kinda accepting it as karma, for knocking off that lad in rF2 the other day!
That red ferrari 296 just lost 30 SA on that "rejoin" 😂
Haha it was mad, wasn’t it. I came around the corner and saw him heading straight for me 🤣
BREATHE, man!
🤣
That car looked like a pig to drive. Do you think the default setups might not be as good since the recent updates?
This race shows that you don't have to be fast but consistent. The rest will eventually make a mistake and crash, and you'll get a free position xD
Optimal tyre pressures is now 26-27 psi .. may explain your low grip
@@chrisrogerssimracing Ah. So the frame freezes are not just me, then? One did cause me to go off last week.
@@daviddavies3637 Nope, definitely not. Oulton Park the other week was particularly bad. Had a couple of freezes last about 1sec. I’ve turned down my graphics settings for Shadows and other bits, which has helped a lot. Still the odd stutter, but nothing that lasts too long
Enjoyable Commentary! Did Ferrari #1 get hammered on penalties? He wasn't listed in your final standings which only shows 17 cars.
Ahh yeah, I can’t fit the full results on screen so I chopped it off after me. The #1 finished down in 22nd, with 18 incident points 👍
Lovely 😂
Thank you
What split was that? I'm a perpetual bottom split resident and I've never seen anything like that. Maybe I'll stay here and count my blessings.
It was a lunchtime race, so only 4 splits. And this was split 3! I guess we’ll put the carnage down to lots of people struggling with the new physics update!
Im guessing your not use to the new updated tier physics Chris?🤔
Haha nice one, glad you enjoyed it! Well if you race LFM, ya never know - we may end up on the same grid for a future video!
I would advise checking an update video whenever you have time to check, there were also other small changes to setups
Also be aware that your wheel is clipping a lot (the red bar below your TC and ABS on the right), so you're losing detail on the ffb
@@pedrosilvaproductions Thanks, good spot on the FFB. I had a big clipping issue before, but got it fixed and noticed a huge difference. I guess I just need to make some tweaks again now, following the update 👍
@@chrisrogerssimracing Yes the ffb is also better in my opinion! At least through my T300
Cheers mate, i'll wait for your new vids!
@@petermartin5197 I did wonder why there were so many Ferraris on this grid! About two-thirds of the drivers chose it. That would explain it!
@@chrisrogerssimracing I think with your pace top 5 is a real possibility with the prancing horse.
One thing I've noticed in a lot of your races is other drivers making lots of mistakes.
@@chrisrogerssimracing If you find a good league that isn't full of aliens please let me know!
@@mikecroshaw9233 @Chris Rogers Sim Racing Try Valleys Racing Motorsport Association - still a fairly small group but a great bunch of blokes and rookie races and training sessions weekly to get the hang of things without all the pressure!
This is about how it’s been going on lfm since the update
Yeah the updates were far more thorough than I was expecting! I just thought it would feel slightly different, and that would be it!
@@chrisrogerssimracing true
Some "nice" divebombs from your opponents... :D The ideal tyre pressures are much lower now, modify it!
Yeah there were people diving in everywhere! Ha I didn’t even realise tyre pressures had changed with the update, won’t be making that mistake again!
Its tough this week but hopefully everything irons out for next week,
Your tyres overheated (way over 27)... you surely had major grip issues... >26 /
BR Per
PS: your psi is to high, would be in a race like 26.7 (a bit over 26.5 due to graining over time)
Thanks mate, yeah I didn’t realise tyre pressures had changed so much. I’ll be giving ACC another go soon when I next get chance to race.
As for my PC, it’s a fairly low-end stock gaming PC. Nothing too powerful. I record the gameplay using the standard Nvidia GeForce. PC specs pasted below:
PC: Lenovo Legion 5 T5 28IMB05
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
Its a game 😊 ....relax abd enjoy! Your quicker than i am!
Haha I’ll do my best! Thanks for watching mate 😃
I had no idea my pressures were wrong 🤦🏻♂️ I just aimed for 27.7 like before. It certainly explains why I was slipping and sliding everywhere!
👍😊💯❤️🎉
Wow, that was your quickest yet! Far quicker than me in this race 🤦🏻♂️
@@chrisrogerssimracing like I say, fast in the comments, slow on the track. That's me 😂😜
Another great video chris if u hadn't been knocked off the track u would have done better
Yeah it was looking really good at that point. It was probably karma, because I knocked a guy off in my rF2 race on LFM earlier this week. The sim racing gods, making things even!
Pressures waaaay te high ;).
Yeah, I completely messed them up! Was still aiming for 27.7 like it was pre-update! Won’t make that mistake again!
Aussie Man Reviews: LFM Edition
Haha! 🍻
I really don't get it why all think : The race is won in the first turn.
Yeah there was a lot of that going on in this race! I thought I’d find really well to avoid the opening lap’s chaos with only a bit of damage. But the bad luck caught up with me in the end!
Ya, if you want to get in front at T1 qualify, don't push your way through.
They should play Forza.
see some bans coming
Haha yeah, not the finest examples of racecraft in this one!
Your tyre pressures are way too high, You want low to mid 26s here
Yeah thanks Davie, I had no idea tyre pressures had changed with the update! The moral of the story… I need to do some research before jumping straight into a race! Haha. Thanks mate, cheers for the comment 😃
