I was 17 when I first heard this song , and and I felt instantly in love with it . Now I'm 56 and still in love with it. Pat Benetar and her Band is one of the BEST Rock Band of all time. Dear Pat, thank you to give us such good music.

@Patrice Munger. Seems we’ve been rocking out to her the same time. I discovered her magnificence in high school & I’m now 55. I’m happy I was blessed to attend one of her concerts (in St. Louis, circa 1996/97. My favorite concert of all time. Take care.

Around 40 years ago I saw Pat Benatar live in OC MD. “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” was just becoming a hit. She must have still been contracted with small venues. The club was built to hold a couple hundred, at least 500 of us were packed in there. Luckily a friend had connections with club owners. We skipped the line and we’re given a table inches from the stage. Wow, great night, great memories. Loved it! Thanks Pat.

Just saw a recent piece with Pat and Neil, both grey-haired and now grandparents. Makes me smile to see them now or then, especially since they are still together and still rocking.
"What did you do in your day grandma? " "I kicked ass, night after night!"
    Still kicking ass!

Loved your comment. Awesome!! Can you imagine your granny after seeing a video like this? I sorta can. My granny LOVED polka and on purpose lived next to a polka hall for years. The BabyMetal song O Majinai was originally written as a polka song in the 1890's. I can imagine ol granny dancing to that, but it is mind blowing.

I'm 54 years old and have been playing guitar for 41 of those years and going to concerts for at least 43. While I am a devotee of players like Clapton, I have always respected the energy that Neil brings to his performances coupled with good technical ability. His playing and Pat's singing are truely symbiotic; they fit like hand in glove.

Lip sync? Call it what it is. Miming. In other words ripping off the audience. People pay to see a live performance and miming is cheating by second raters. I love it when they get caught out. Things like they drop the mike but the "singing" continues.

long ago when this song came out ,my father loved it. when it would come on the radio while we were at work,he would turn it up..even though he was country western all the way,he loved this song.one day i seen this vid come up on tv and i ran into the other room and told dad to hang on and i changed the channel on him.after seeing them start pounding out this song dad started smiling.then when they started focusing more on pat,my dad looked at her and said,''ohhhh myyyy..she is one hell of a basket of sweet peaches''. i said,'' dad,i just wanted you to see who was doing one of your favorite songs." man..he was just grinning from ear to ear. when my dad passed away, there were 4 of us still at the grave site when every one else left.we popped in the cassette tape 'as planned' and rocked the cemetery..**RIP dad, this ones for you buddy!

I had the rare opportunity to see Cher in Detroit a few years ago, and guess who opened for her? Pat and Neil and the band. INSANE set. Those two are really partners. I found myself wishing that Cher would get larygitis or something so Pat would have to stay....

Heard an interview with Ms. Benatar a few years ago. She admitted she despises this song and hates playing it. But... as she said, it has paid for every car and every house she has ever owned and put her kids through college. So she sings it any time fans want to hear it.
    Total professionalism. She's the best.
