I got mine 10 days ago and took it out for a spin tonight. 5h partycover gig for about 1000 people. What should I say. Niw I have to explain my wife, that I will not send it back. It is a keeper. Lightweight, well crafted, very solid tone, fits in all genres aaaaand the B string really is a weapon. Unbelievable for the price. ❤❤❤
One huge benefit of a headless design is it eliminates dead spots. Ned Steinberger way way back, did incredible research relating to the pitfalls of wooden guitars. The most immediate benefit of the headless design, is it's balance and weight. Far superior to the more traditional style of construction. I have a headless Status Bass, I wouldn't part with it for any price. You will get a big bang for your money with this Cort bass, and a great introduction into the world of headless.
although cort has made headless years ago, I think they have learnt a lot from the Ibanez EHB basses. I can see a lot of improvement in the headpiece, absence of nut and smaller fingerboard radius in comparison to the same batch manufactured EHB. the stick out string ends issue is fixed in this bass.
I've been lucky to have been testing one out for the past month or so, and It's amazing. It has an almost piano like quality. It's also super comfortable.
This bass sounded like having a build in compressor. Sounds really satisfying. It's suitable for any genres for sure. Thank you for exposing this to the world. ✊🏽
I've been watching you for a long time, my friend. You've aged a little. but I really like that you don't give up your passion for the bass guitar. Best wishes for good luck.
This will be my next bass....dammnnn Cort, you making me buy a bass each year now. Last year I bought the Elrick NJS4, which is the best jazz bass out there and now looking to add this Space bass for a 5 string in my collection.
Does anybody know if it would it be possible to put Thomastik infeld flats on this bass, please? Heard that these headless systems are not always very friendly to flatwound strings.
This bass is another missed opportunity for Cort: If they had made it multi-scale, then with their prices it could have been one of the best-selling new basses, especially popular among metal players.
It not being multiscale or at least 35" is the only reason I didn't buy one immediately when they came out. Although I mist admit the B string still sounds pretty defined. My Cort A5SC doesn't sound that defined, probably because of the different preamp.
Of course we’re using plugins in post production. But no amp or cab sim ones. Just EQ, compression, sometimes a tube preamp simulation, these sort of things
I'm debating grabbing this headless bass, or the Cort A5 SC (not fan fret). Which would you recommend? Going to a store to try them in not possible in the country where I live.
I have a cort A5 SC. Feels great. To me it sounds worse because of the active preamp being MK1 as well. The Space has a better sounding preamp. I love the A5 SC regardless. Definitely go for whichever feels right to you.
@christianhildalgo I actually got the A5 SC about 2 weeks ago. It's great. I'm not using the preamp and I'm using a Walrus Audio Badwater preamp pedal instead.

@@marontesla2982 all Corts have the most deadened sustainless sound I've ever heard. I don't know if it's their electronics, or their blend of woods, but they're not a good sounding instrument.
@@A_Stereotypical_Heretic i was hoping it was just my unwarranted dislike of these guitars and in a blind test i wouldn't have heard it but my first thought was in another video with this bass "why does this nice bass sound so dead" . i used to really like their multiscale bass too but the sound faded away... + later videos began to appear where people had problems with the setting and the scale did not sound as it should.
Hm.. change the Pickups for Häussel BassBars and the electronic for Glockenklang and I would buy it instantly. Never liked the mk1s as well as the mid and high frequency of the mb preamp

@@basstheworldofficialThis is more for Cort, But if its 35" i'm buying one next week. 34 seams like a compromise for something that should at least take on the current prog oriented competition. By my book a 33-35" would have been perfect.

@@basstheworldofficial Really?? 😳Wow, that's a massive mistake by Cort. Everyone else is advertising this bass with a 34'' scale length. No information about the string spacing at the bridge. Someone said 19mm but nothing found on the web about that. It's so important for a 5 string bass.
If I see another poplar burl top and set of Bartolini Mk1 pickups on a mid-market bass, I might just.. well, tut and sigh a bit. Utter lack of imagination. There are much better pretty figured woods and commodity pickups out there.
Now this bass sounds spectacular.
You just gotta Frank Itt Up !

Fun fact: they didn't even have to plug it into an envelope filter. All that quacking wah was a result of Itt's BASS FACE!!
Oh man, I want one!
WOW! The sound is incredible!
Thank you for the commentary and playing. Cort's been releasing interesting instruments of late. All the best.
Good to see Cort are finally mmoving up in the guitar world. They've always made really nice beginner guitars, but never did much with the high end.
I usually don't like slap bass but this tone is incredible!
I'd love to see a multiscale version of this too. Glad it comes in at a sensible price, too

Patrick Hunter said 34. It's funny how if you think it's 35" it makes the B sound "better". it seems 34 is correct
