My (only) P-ish bass was also a lucky 170€ eBay find: an early 80s Aria Pro II RSB Standard. The stock pickup is not great, very hot and dark, so I replaced it with an FGN pickup which I got from a friend. And the tuners were stiff after all those years, so I replaced those as well. Now I really love it! Plays like a dream with its slim body and neck, and with its pickup about 1.5cm further back, it sounds more punchy than a regular P and allows for serious Joe Dart vibes! Especially with the flats I have installed.
I have an Aria Pro II LEB. I went nylon coated flatwound recently just as an impulsive experiment and I am surprised how good it sounds with just the neck pickup. A great contrast to the round wounds on my j-type.
Fender's Sunn branded instruments were made in India. Dan Smith said that India was too far away for them to monitor quality properly. apparently the quality was patchy so they may not all be as good as this one
what's the best P bass with a Jazz profile neck? i'm considering pickup up a Lakland Skyline 44-64 GZ or a Pro-Mod San Dimas Bass PJ IV as my next bass.
Id rather have more creativity. All the most comfortable basses I've played used a non-fender design. It especially confuses me when people insist on fender-shaped bodies at three price range squire and fender offer at (I guess it makes some sense to offer it from the budget brands or high end customs).
@@KapnKreggyou can get the same-quality sound with a mexican or Japanese p bass for a fraction of the cost of a Nash bass lol (and without the awful finishes)
I'm listening via Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 250 ohm headphones and I'm astounded how much I dislike all their sounds. The only bass that sounds remotely good to my ears is the Fender one . The F Bass sounds especially bad to me, kind of sad when it's such an expensive high quality instrument. It's not the player cause in other videos I liked him. Maybe I'm just not a P bass enjoyer.
Never understood all the fuss about having different pbasses. If you don't like the sound of one change pickups/strings/action and you get the tone you like.
I can't and don't want to imagine life without a P-Bass. So simple, but also so powerful.
One bass to rule them all
I have long lusted after that AV BTW P Bass. It sounds incredible.
Great content as always!
If they are yours, we need to see you playing them 🤟😜
LOVE the Buzz Hornet. I own a Buzz Wasp and the build quality is simply impressive for the price! 🥰
Thx for sharing. I found the "Buzz Hornet" very interesting......
Huge P bass + flats fan here. My #1 is a Sandberg Lionel short scale. Pretty much perfect feel and tone.

excellent video as always! Any chance of adding a black t-shirt with the p51 pickup to the merch shop? I'd love one 🙂
All very nice, the Custom Shop Fender Pbass sounds the best.
It has flats on it. P + flats= magic

This must be bass heaven ❤
Me encanta tu VF!!
Gotta channel your inner Tony Franklin with that Sunn fretless.
Loved your Precis 🫶😇🙏
Great video! Which are those the 57 or 63 Kloppmann P bass pickups?
Can I also point out the very tasty bass licks 👌🏼
Thank you 😇
I've gotta get one of those t-shirts! Tschüß!
I've 2 " lucky find" , very inexpensive p basses and they play like a dream. The only p basses that I can shred on.
Your main p bass sounds so bad ass. 🔥
I love that F Bass

Fender won :) BEAUTIFULL!!!!!!!
Why do you never play your basses on video?
Restauracja Gitar
Nice, they all sound like P basses. fab
i llove that most brand have to copy fender design to sell bass lol
Leo Fender set a standard and an era. He did the same with Music Man.
What’s funnier is that they usually improve them. My Nash pb-63 is better overall than my custom shop Fenders while also costing less.
@KapnKregg cost less....lol....20$ difference?!

I don't understand this never ending hype around p bass. One trick pony.
