Wikipedia - It showcases the band's trademark effect with haunting guitar work and lyrics, and Hope Sandoval's detached vocals. David Roback's Robby Krieger-inspired psychedelic blues slide guitar style can be heard on the song "Free". "Ghost Highway" is another psychedelic rock track, with a fast rhythm. This song dates from the band's days as Opal and was initially slated to be the title track of Opal's second album. While not a commercial success, this album did establish Mazzy Star as a unique band with a unique sound. "Blue Flower" is a Slapp Happy cover from the 1972 album Sort Of.

Captures the timeless flow that brings people to Grateful Dead/now Dead and Company shows. Jistclast Saturday night they teased Fade into You as a bit of a shout-out.
This music is the key to my mind wide open
Shivers every time she says "I never really wanted your heart"
Yeesh, watching in 2020 and still have seen few women as enchanting as her
A charming band, unpretentious, elegant and with an honest attitude. Everything that does not exist in the current dystopia. Hope keeps singing and each work keeps its spirit, with Massive Attack or with another. Being basically a lover of jazz, I am fascinated with this material that I listen to in my long days of photographic work.
Powerful voice, majestic lady! :)
So Tonight I was just so impressed with as a teen.. Right up there with legendary albums like Cure's Disintegration perhaps.. And, yes the others were pretty ok too!
Have literally no idea how anyone could give a thumbs down for this. Actually amazes me ❤️
must be people trying to play this song over and over and making a mistake of giving it a thumbs down by accident hahahaha
Some people are just not meant to be happy.
What an excellent band they were
Beautiful Hope. Still giving us chills to this day
This is better than I remember it being at the time.
Here in Sep 2020, and oh my word that is a guitar tone! Coupled with Hope’s voice this is just sublime!
A true musical legend, she only played when felt like it, never chased fame or money, too bad that left us with few materials and appearences from her though :(
Mazzy Star alone has 6 studio albums, the last of which released in 2018. Hope Sandoval never stopped making music! She had a backing band, The Warm Intentions that released a lot of albums, and she still collaborates and releases music with other artists.
It's pretty much all good to great.
@@rumo510 But Mazzy won't ever play again. Mazzy was David & Hope. She's crushed David died. That's it for Mazzy. :( Glad I got to see the last tour with my daughter.
@@rumo5106 Studie albums? One from 2018? I thought Seasons of your Day was their last album? Followed by an EP and a live album
Wow, never heard of the band in the 90's but the lead singer has this hot sadness about her
