A perfect song isn't only perfect altogether, but is enjoyable when you isolate every part of it. I love her voice. I love the acoustic strumming. I love the bass. I love the percussions. I love the piano. I love the slide guitar. But all of it together is so mesmorizing and nice.

Well, his playing on the studio track is great. I was a bit let down by his playing in the above vid/performance.
Even if she just stood there, frozen in silence, she would effortlessly be this gorgeous, unreachable melancholic goddess, dragging us all into her mystery. Her voice reaches the depths of our longings. Lovely creature.
A perfect song isn't only perfect altogether, but is enjoyable when you isolate every part of it. I love her voice. I love the acoustic strumming. I love the bass. I love the percussions. I love the piano. I love the slide guitar. But all of it together is so mesmorizing and nice.
Don’t forget Hope’s Tambourine work.
"I want to hold the hand inside you" I've never really payed attention to that first line but wow, that is so amazing. Song writing is something else.
This song is as close to perfect as anything I'll ever hear.
You have a long journey back to better songs than this
Does she have another song where she blows it out and sings with power. This is boring
@@elizabethharalson7903 Why would anyone come to watch a Mazzy Star video and then when someone gives praise to the song they feel the need to be a douchebag troll? People like you suck in the world and do nothing but create useless chatter. I still have no clue why people like you have internet connections?
I wish I was there for those times
wild horse's is also a great song I use to listen as a kid me and my sister who past in 2020 I miss her dearly 💔
Hope has a voice that just makes all the problems of the world go away. I want to hug a stranger now.
I have some of her songs in my “Soothing Songs” playlist
Youll get ronavirus
Oh noooooooo...
you'll get the Kung Flu.
here I am buddy.
Come on Chris give Lee a hug.
Unbelievably gorgeous, the song and her face. Wow .
Hope Sandoval is so naturally beautiful.
Love this woman. Her voice is incredible.
😢 I miss her
Maybe the most hauntingly beautiful song ever written.
Vocal is beautiful 👏👏👏but Dave’s subtle work on the guitar and his key change are mesmerising 👏👏👏such a beautiful song 👏👏👏👌🥂
90s was a great decade for music. Unlike the 50s, 80s and 2000s you didn’t have to fall into the same style as every other popular band. Reminds me of late 60s/early 70s, just replace some of the talent with emotion. Very diy feel to it.
I agree!!! I only listen to music that makes me feel…drift away, any emotion, real music, with real emotion!!! These days most stuff is trash, no point to it…I don’t understand it, but I’m grateful I’m here and real music!!! Mazzy Star!!!
@ same. My favorite musician is Elliott Smith. I want all the feels with my music. It’s sad to think there are people, maybe the majority of ‘em, that haven’t gotten goosebumps from music.
@ that’s exactly how I feel about my music, if I don’t feel anything, I won’t listen.
Kudos to the engineer who recorded, mic’d and mixed this. Fantastic.
Glad to see I wasn't the only only one to notice how superb the SQ was on this.
That's the BBC studios for you.
They're lip syncing
@@xxpatrick204xx Umm, no. Hope's wonderful, but a little pitchy and her phrasing is completely different from the record.
@@xxpatrick204xx No, Jools Holland has always insisted his shows are proper recordings; a couple of friends of mine have been sound engineers on the various JH shows over the years.
I'm just happy I was old enough to live through this era of music, and that MAZZY STAR played a critical role in my CD selection.
I’m glad too but sad to see it coming to an end.
We’re getting older & I don’t see much light at the end of the tunnel
@@fromchopin it's sad getting old missing young memories like this❤ wish you best
Hope is a goddess
Lotus Healing
Same here.
Uncle lzzy, that's an understatement...lol
Have to say, i wouldn't kick her out of bed if she farted.....
Always found her sexy as hell.
@therandom3591 I doubt you've actually eaten one, but I know you've spent a lot of time considering what a Tide Pod would taste like when you first bit into it.
She sings "I think it strange you never knew" Now that I'm a much older age, I know exactly what that means, but its too late to fix the past for that second chance in life. A beautiful but haunting song that is something we all can understand or relate to.
One of the best songs ever. Ill never forget I was at a party and if was 3 in the morning and someome put this song on and everyone after a wildnight, everyone just sat there if was like a dream. As if everyone had someone or something they were thinking of and the song puts you in a trance. Nothing like hearing a song like this at some high class apartment with people you had just got to know and the wildnight and then everyone sinking into this song. Was beautiful.
It's amazing how this song, this little girl with the ghostly, yet angelic voice takes us all back to a time so innocent... This is my first time hearing this song, this angel and I'm in love...
“From rap, rock, country to pop, the 90’s was the best decade for music.” ~ Josh Nickles.
No. He's thinking of the '70s ....
80's
Everything was good till 2000s technology made life easier put took creative oway!
@@donjuan130 well actually in the 80s technology made life easier already to put out music. Point is, I never lived in the 80s cuz I was born in '94.
Osh Ick 60,80,90, I lived it. Dorian Gray 👱👦 AKA Arnold Bourbon Amaral
It’s just an Amazing song she’s absolutely gorgeous and a voice of an Angel and that sliding guitar riff is just out of this world.
This woman disarms me. Sweetness personified...
Simple one of the most moving songs ever written. And Hope is more impactful just standing there than half naked pop stars grinding on a microphone stand.
Right I feel like this was the peak of music that we’ll never have again ?
The melancholic and haunting touch from her voice is just too much for me to handle. I always cry when I watch them perform.
I lay in bed listening to this song and I close my eyes and feel like I am flying through the sky…this just hits different in every way imaginable
God damn she’s almost too beautiful
my friend just lookalike her.
She will rip your heart out and dry it in the sun just for kicks...stay away from mystical, talented women...a tale of woe
@@tonray9395 Best part - she won't know she did it....
@@tonray9395 At least you'll have got to meet her
So naturally beautiful!
She tells the story via poetry… she is the sound of the 90’s for those of us lucky enough to grow up, learn what love is and pain is during those magical days…. Before social media, before current non-sensical music
Wow.
Missed this in the 90's or maybe not. No idea tbh. But wow she is spell binding perfection with the voice. X
They don't make em like they used to. She's a gift!
1993/94 was a great year...my best summer with friends and all the river cookouts just hanging out Friday after work no work weekends
How can you not be in love with this song, with her, with the way she stands, the way she sings, the way she looks. Sigh!
Brian Capaloff Maybe you need to take a cold shower...
@@zoznack I'm perfectly clean thanks. Maybe you need to get a life, and a heart.
Brian Capaloff No, no. You need to take a cold one, control those adolescent hormones...
@@zoznack As I thought. A bit of a dick. Although I'm amused at why you've picked on my comment and ignored so many others here which express similar sentiments. The life of a troll, I suppose.
I have no idea how the hell I got here but absolutely LOVED THIS!! ❤️
28 years old at that, so I guess your alittle late like myself 👍🏻👍🏻🌬☠🏴☠️
You can see she is avoiding the audience with her eyes as much as possible. Her shyness is oddly magnetic.
Singing a song should not be about look at me anyway should not be about look at anyone it's about the lyrics the meaning behind the song the music that's what the song is about to me as a songwriter I don't want no one looking at me about my lyrics just to hear what the words say as words start from my heartbeat is the mind the gift of a word is heart
It's antisocial anxiety disorder It's a bitch to deal with we deal with it everyday of our lives!
Lol, i dont think its shyness, shes just in her element when singing and she actually seems very confident in what she does
@@Hey-Mister lol no
I've watched this many times, and had a look into the history quite a while ago...From memory I think this was when she was with the Lead Guitarist, and I think he may have been leaving her for the Acoustic Guitarist that was sitting behind her, so this would have been quite an emotional event that she had to face, and maintain her public display....
