I love characters like John Myung, who quietly stay in the background, yet always calmly, reliably and flawlessly set a basis for everyone else to depend and build upon.
Breaking All Illusions is probably the greatest song DT ever made. I've listened to it a million times and STILL don't get tired of it. It encapsulates what the band is all about.
This Petrucci’s solo almost makes me cry. God it’s so deep. Too much passion on it. There’s so many amazing bands around the world that I love but DT is so above of all them. Nothing compares. So simple as that. Enjoy the show in Orlando. You guys deserve it! I’ll be waiting for them here in Brazil, it’s gonna be my 8th DT show. You’re the best! Be in peace!
Amazing reaction. Outstanding band. I've seen them live 4 times here in my country, Portugal. Always amazing. This album is one of my favorites and one of the best of their catalogue for sure
I had the tremendous luck of seeing this song live up front in 2017....it was absolutely epic and a dream come true after having watched this DVD performance over like 100 times.
unfortunately i couldn't get to the concert fronm this tour and i regret it to this day. watched this performance over 100 times and goosebumps all the time. Wish they would perform it again
Thankful you guys finally made it to Breaking All illusions. It is my favorite of the Mangini era DT songs. Have a great time at the show on Wednesday. Happy Anniversary / Bday week!
Sound like "Learning to Life". One of my favorite DT songs. But this song ..oh my God..TOP OF THE LIST. And the guitar solo..one of the best. GOOSEBUMPS.
Dream Theater is one of my very favorite bands, and their songs stir every one of my emotions with all the power, melody, harmony, dynamics, time signature changes, incredible solos, and great singing. I have been a huge fan of that band ever since I first bought their Images and Words album in 1992 after hearing their song "Pull Me Under" on the radio. Total eargasm! :)
Awesome, DC? I saw them in Philly on the 13th. James absolutely NAILED it!! I was worried about James going in because I hadn’t seen them since Chaos In Motion. My one gripe is that the show was incredibly loud, but maybe that was just the venue acoustics
Thanks!! Congrats on your anniversary!! I'm looking forward to seeing Dream Theater in Austin TX May 1st. I'm also meeting the guys with my VIP pass. It's gonna be awesome!!!
The thing I love about you guys is the love you have for music and each other. It's just a wonderful thing to see 2 people that just love being together and sharing that with the world. When I met you at the dream theater concert I didn't know yall had a TH-cam channel. I was between the bar and the mixing console and I saw these 2 friendly smiling dream theater fans and I struck a conversation up with yall. You both exude the love you share for each other and for music and it really affected me in a positive way. Once the show started and we all went to our seats I lost track of yall but I had a big smile for a week after the epic performance that we witnessed that night. It was a big surprise to me when I found your channel and I was hooked. Then after watching several videos I felt like I know these 2. Finally your DT reactions confirmed where I met yall. It was really a pleasure and I hope we meet again someday at another epic DT show.
This song is one of the greatest songs in this universe. You're reactions reminds me of my reaction when I first time saw and heard this song. Nice vid, nice reactions. You Kel'n'Rich are superb! Love you!
I was at this show great seats too 8th row with JP right in front of us , I have seen them a lot and many other bands this was my first time being at a recorded concert so glad they made the Dvd of my favorite band and I got a keepsake . check out there new album it great.
love you guys !! please do more dream theater . you got so much more to see and hear from this great band . but first do "hollow years" live at budokan . you'd love it !!
Shattered Fortress would be great. But i think the only way to get the full excitement of it is to listen to the whole 12 step suite first. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻(The Glass Prison, This Dying Soul, Root of all Evil, Repentance, and then The Shattered Fortress)
Enjoy DT this Wednesday. Saw them at the Beacon in NYC...awesome show. Love this song and your reactions. Happy birthday Kel and Happy anniversary to you both. Thanks again for the birthday shout you gave my dad earlier this month. Not sure if you saw this request in any earlier posts, but I have a few Rush requests. #Rush Losin It and Limelight. Long Island, NY
I love this song. It is a musical workout no matter which instrument you play. I player guitar and I am not even willing to take a shot at this. There are 2 Japanese kids that play a guitar/keyboard cover of this song; it is a pretty good cover.
#KelandRich, while you will be rocking to Dream Theater Wednesday night, I will be rocking to Yngwie Malmsteen that same night in Baton Rouge. My son is taking me. He's been playing lead guitar since he was 14, and now he's 42. Damn, I feel old!!! Malmsteen is just one of his many favorite guitar players. This will be my second time seeing him, and my son's third. Anyway, I hope you both have a fantastic time!!! Happy Anniversary/Birthday!!! \m/
Ribbet Ribbet! You two are a riot! Rich, I loved the look on Kel's face when you put the two frogs together....."kissing." I almost spit my hot chocolate out I was laughing so hard. BTW, great reaction! :-)
Pitrucci still crying me to death with his incredible solos, John myung is the best character who works in background where most of people can't recognize him
Great DT reaction, Transcending with your music is something magical. They should listen to "In The Presence Of Enemies Pt1 n' Pt2 Live Chaos in Motion" - Thanks for listening. 💙
You guys are just the best. Such diversity in what you're watching for this channel...Anyway, next mandatory request...Scorpions - Alien Nation, the album version. It is the heaviest the Scorps have been and it has a bass line that will pull dents out of steel.
I wish they would have had a jumbo screen on the Scenes from a Memory 25th annv. tour. They had one, but it was for the animations. I would have liked to seen some upclose Petrucci playing.
Hi Kel-n-Rich. I have only just started watching your reaction videos and im a huge fan of Porcupine Tree and most things Steven Wilson. I know this comment maybe overlooked with you having such a large following but i would love to make a suggestion for listening for yourselves. The song in question is 'Gravity Eyelids' by PT. Hope you like at and have a great day. Gratz on all your followers your doing an awesome job. X
Just wait until you hear James LaBrie on #LiveattheMarquee another hand/the killing hand. This is one of Dream Theater's earlier live albums from the 90s.
I can't put my finger on the "Why", but this solo is my favourite from Petrucci in general...It's just filled to the core with so much emotion...I think the studio version is still the best one though...
Been watching through your videos and you guys are a joy to watch! Your passion for music really shows and I'm enjoying taking a part of your exploration of new stuff :) I would love to see you guys react to #SithuAye - "Set Course For Andromeda!!!". Keep up the good work.
Great reaction !! Amazing song !!! If you like the feeling of this song you have to react "Surrender to reason" from the self titled Album, the same of "Illumination Theory". Thanks again !!!
I think many people don't like Mangini because he makes it look so easy. I think he is a beast on the kit. I'm glad he was Portnoy's replacement even though Portnoy was an absolute beast himself.
I felt the same way when they changed over to Mangini but I got over it because there's no one else making music on the level Dream Theater is at. Mangini just has a different type of groove that I now feel is perfect for post-Portnoy Dream Theater.
@@alanalanis2257 Nobody else.... oh come on! DT has been making predictable, boring garbage on their last records. Go with Haken to have the exact same genre of music done better, or with Leprous to experience a whole new fresh level of prog rock/metal.

If you love progressive metal, one of the greatest band to search for is Symphony X, espacially the song : The Divine Wings of Tragedy ( from the album of the same name ), you will probably reconise what classical piece influence that song. ( The Accolade is also great, but more like progressive metal ) PS : if you are also interested by other instrumental music and guitar heroes, ask me, I have plenty of awesome songs and albums, from different guitarist, some less known but extremely talented.
I love characters like John Myung, who quietly stay in the background, yet always calmly, reliably and flawlessly set a basis for everyone else to depend and build upon.
So does Robert Fripp. Which is why I love him.
So much love for the silent killer John myung

Breaking All Illusions is probably the greatest song DT ever made. I've listened to it a million times and STILL don't get tired of it. It encapsulates what the band is all about.
That album has been at the top of my Playlist for years now and it still moves me.
John myung doesnt usually write the lyrics but when he does its usually awesome!
My Favourite Song with Mike Mangini!!

John Petrucci a guitarist telling a story on a solo.

I realize it is kind of off topic but does anybody know of a good place to stream newly released movies online?
@Mustafa Beau i would suggest FlixZone. Just google for it :)
@Karsyn Fletcher definitely, have been using flixzone for months myself :)
@Karsyn Fletcher thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it!!
I was at that this Dream Theater concert in Boston!!! It was the best show ever!!!
Omg so lucky!! I love that DVD. So much better than Luna Park
Amazing reaction. Outstanding band. I've seen them live 4 times here in my country, Portugal. Always amazing. This album is one of my favorites and one of the best of their catalogue for sure

This is the song that pushed me into the DT train; I fell in love with the album, and the fandom is history.
Welcome to the team bro
This is definitely the best song from the post Portnoy-era. It's perfect.

There's a part in the solo that sounds very much like Lines in the Sand from Falling Into Infinity.
