Eulogy has one of the most innovative, interesting, and intricate intros I've heard in any music. One of my favorite Tool songs. The engineering and production on this album and then Lateralus are each huge leaps forward.
This album was my introduction to Tool back when I was in high school and it is still my favorite. Eulogy is probably my second favorite track from it behind Aenima, but it's so hard to say because of how many amazing tracks they have from that album alone.
I'm a very analytical person. So l listen carefully. The problem with Tool is the music and lyrics often compete for attention, I'm finding out. So it's easy to get caught up in one or the other. I make an effort to make time for both (hence the facial expressions. 😉). Sooo tough though. Sometimes it's just like f it, and go with the flow.
@@B-Drags-Den Totally get bud, so much in there to grab your attention.. Been listening to these tracks for 3 decades and I still hear new sh*t every time I listen 😂. Gift that keeps on giving. You'll be enjoying these tracks for years.
Love seeing the over ear headphones! Very much enjoying your journey! I can see that you actually hear and appreciate the music and lyrics alike. Tool seeps into your soul and reminds you of the realities most people grow to ignore.
i love this song so much. to me, it makes me think of the flood of televangelists we had back in the day with all their lies and shady dealings, really enjoying your tool journey. at some point, you’ll definitely need to check out the danny carey drum cam of pneuma. a master class ♥
Ha! Said not to sleep on endings with Ænema and then you hit us with the Eulogy intro . Love the way they give the intro time to build and breathe. Curious if this is really about Rollins now. I knew they were once friends. Quite an indictment if it is.
It's tough keeping up with requests. That being said, I was nervous at first. Now, I feel comfortable just expressing what I feel in reactions, and the requests help me. It hints at what is going on inside my head. I love it. Thanks. 🤪
Maynard's not only singing the first part through a megaphone, but the weird beeping/buzzing, is Maynard using the megaphone's siren setting as a musical instrument.
From what I have heard from other band members have said Maynard was (at least in part) inspired by L Ron Hubbard on this track as well. The truth is there are so many people that make a lot of moise and point a lot of fingers without saying very much at all. "No way to recall What it was that you had said to me? Like I care at all But it was so loud You sure could yell You took a stand on every little thing"
Please try Tash Sultana Blackbird 7 layer session. And from Madrugada song Vocal is also a gem. You know Apollo 440 listen to song electric glide in blue. If played at some radio networks it would be a top ten song Greeting from Munich
When I first heard this, I assumed it was about either Jesus or Hitler. According to Maynard, it's about generic false prophets or manipulative people.
What's to be forgiven? Regardless of who anyone likes, I don't believe that's the way to use our justice system. My opinion. I respect those with a different opinion as well. We're here for the music. 🤘
Such a fucking banger!
Right!? 🤘🌀

It's fun just to live in the beginning of that song. Thanks for watching. 😄
RIP HICKS! I miss Bill so much! I think Bill would have loved this song. He did yell a lot ranting and raving…❤❤❤❤

I still have a lot to hear. Thanks for watching. 🌀
You catch a lot on first listen compared to many bud. Good job. TOOL's incredible aren't they lol. Cheers 🤘🏼👁🌀

"you showed us how you weren't afraid to die, so so long!" Great humor in Maynard's lyrics in this one. Love your Tool reactions! 🤘👍🌀
But surprised to hear his own eulogy. Brilliant. Thanks for watching. 🤘

The lyrical twist is a plus. Thanks for watching.

It's so cool all the different sounds. Thanks.
When I got this cd I listened to Eulogy over n over n over I LOVE this intro so damn much❤
That would be easy considering all the little incremental parts. Thanks for commenting. 😀
If you're watching these on youtube, the lyrics are often in the description.
I am, I'll look for them. 🙌
Love it you’re always good for a couple a day I look forward to getting out of work. Thank you
It's just too good. I need to sleep though😂😂
Love how you react to the songs recommended.

Yes. Kinda pointless rubbish. Thanks for commenting. 😁

I’m OGT and what I heard was this is the end of the relationship Maynard had with Henry Rollins early on. Rollins definitely fits the out spoken part
Interesting. I love Henry Rollins. Bad ass dude. Thanks for watching. 🤘
Has no idea about that tidbit. Ty👍🏼

@@B-Drags-Dencheck out the song Bottom from their Undertow album. Rollins does spoken word in it. It’s one of my favorites.
@johnnyb6067 I'll have Bottom done by tomorrow. Lateralus is coming. Thanks again.
Musically, this one is a lot of fun!
Yes it is. Thanks for watching. 😀
The lost keys/ Rosetta stoned.
Ok. Put on the list. Thanks 🤘
Welcome

I will check those out. Thanks for suggesting. 😃

Ha! Then I think I got it right. Thanks for that and watching. 🤘
I always thought it was about Jesus.....with older ears, it sounds like a less polite version of "cult of personality"
Impressive interpretation without lyrics up. Forgive me if you disagree, but this song reminds me of Trump.

Everyone's entitled to their free speech and thoughts, America is founded on it. Let's save it!!
@@susiejo143 💯. I'm right behind you.
Yeah, justice is a great thing. Talking is one thing, but when you do the crime, you do the time. At least in a just society.
I think you're the second person to say that. Not offended at all. Everyone has a right to their own thoughts and opinions. ✌️🙌🤘
